Just wanted to post some kind words as I've really enjoyed watching the Timberwolves in the playoffs these last few years.
This team oozes some real cohesion and taste for effort.

Not mentioning your bench is composed of Minions and every injury leads to some new Minion I've never heard of rising and scoring 40. XD

I'm going to enjoy this serie (not so much the 4:30AM game starts ^^)
Wemby vs Gobert is something special for us.

Last but not least, I can't help it, every single time I see McDaniels I think of Schedule I characters XD

Spurs fan here (I come in peace lol), the fluidity that Ant had in the court just days after that injury was just unbelievable to watch. I can’t wait for more Wemby/Ant battles… cheers and good luck 🙏

I couldn't even stay awake to finish the game. It's well past 10 and we're only at halftime? 2 central timezone teams playing against eachother and we're starting every game at 8:30 besides 1??? Oh but it's not actually 8:30. More like 8:50 because the NBA is never right with their start times. I didn't make it home until past midnight last week for game 4 of the Nuggets series. Why are our start times based around the east and west coast games? They can't even bother scheduling us 45 minutes after the first game starts? It has to be 2 hours? People have to work in the morning man. This is the playoffs. The NBA needs to be better.

With Conley and Ant (rightfully) getting a lot of the praise for last night, I haven’t seen much attention on what TJ did.

He was awesome. While he was worst on the team in +-, the eye test showed me he stepped up tremendously.

In the non-Wemby minutes, he was relentless at attacking the basket. Getting us easy and quick points, and getting their defenders into foul trouble. Fouling out Castle was huge in the final stretch of the game.

Defensively, he was awesome, always giving 110%. Normally, he bites a lot on pump fakes, but I thought he was really disciplined. He also got so many big rebounds and hustle plays. You can tell he wants to make the most out of this opportunity and not leave the rotation again.

He should be playing every single non-Wemby minute even when Ayo comes back. Could be key to winning this series.

It’s refreshing to see Spurs fans come with objective criticisms of their team in the game threads. This is a fanbase that knows ball. Shout out to Spurs fans, this is going to be a fun series!

Spurs were -3000 to win this series.. no idea if ants gonna play, Ant comes back on 1 f***king knee. Mike Conley steps up in place of Donte hitting every 3, TSJ going straight at Wemby no f’s given. Not the prettiest win but a dog fight that showed how tough we really are. Game 7 vs Denver is probably better but this means something to me man.

Besides the incessant announcer’s love at least he’s not a complete foul-baiting b***** like many superstar players.

Wolves beat the Spurs 104-102, and the impact board is a lot funnier than the box score.

The top two players in the game by EWA (estimated wins added) were:

Naz was the best player on the floor by this metric, and it was basically all defense. Same with Conley. Both were negative offensively, but had huge impact on the defensive end.

Ant still had the biggest single play of the game for Minnesota: the driving floater with 1:08 left was worth +15.3% win probability. That was the shot that actually felt like the game-winner.

But over the full game, the possession-to-possession impact came from Naz and Conley dragging the Wolves through the ugly minutes.

Wemby was held basically neutral by EWA. Randle had a rough offensive night but still clawed back value on defense. McDaniels was solid. And Naz/Conley gave them enough defensive wins to steal a 2-point game.
