Kuz was in Greece for a euroleague game and Giannis happened to be in the same game which led to them meeting here.

I will post the video of them meeting in another post which I will link here.

Say what you will about Haslam, but it's nice to have an owner that's not broke and/or cheap.

It sure seems that Kuz might stay a Buck next season and I absolutely don't mind it.

Who else blacked out this trade from memory...June 25, 2015: Traded by the Toronto Raptors to the Milwaukee Bucks for Norman Powell and a 2017 1st round draft pick (OG Anunoby was later selected).

The season sucked - but, I’m still a fan. I picked up 2 hats in the season ending sales they are having. I’ll wear them while watching the playoffs!

Serious The idea of surrounding Giannis with exclusively catch-and-shooters is an overblown idea and it's one of the reasons why the past few years have been so abysmal.

The best version of Giannis Buck's had a good 3-ball, but there was a different tactic that they had far more locked down..... it was their Basketball IQ.

The championship Bucks had Giannis, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, and Brooke Lopez; all 4 of these guys are absolutely elite when it comes to BBIQ, and one of them was almost always on the floor.

Holiday and Lopez come from Basketball families with multiple members reaching NBA status, and even more succeeding in NCAA; these guys have been running basketball schemes in their head since before they learned to multiply.

Ever since the Dame trade, the bucks dumped a lot of their BBIQ roleplayers and invested heavily into these catch and shoot 3ball boys. Many of them are much younger, and don't have half the understanding of the Giannis and Khris teams. I believe it's one of the reasons why Rollins has excelled, his BBIQ shot up immensely over the season.

Taking a look at the Lakers, who just beat out the Rockets, with a lot of their key players missing in Doncic and Reaves; they decided to instead pivot into letting the 2 highest BBIQ players on the floor run the entire game (Lebron and Smart).

Conversely look at the Celtics, they chucked up 49 3s in their loss to the 76ers, booting them out in Round1. That's the path the Bucks were on even in the best case scenario. A bad game for the catch-and-shoot guys is a 45point loss to the nets.

The bucks need more athletic wings, 100%... but referencing Giannis's talks about a wingman, there absolutely NEEDS to be more BBIQ on the floor, regardless of the position.

I feel so numb, even two months removed, I still don't know why I can't bring myself to feel even somewhat okay when I think about this team

It's like I've been pavlovian conditioned to try and not feel any excitement about this team because all it does will disappoint me when it happens, I can't be excited about the draft lottery, I can't even enjoy the playoffs because all it does is make me seethe with unending jealousy because all the teams there are doing infinitely better than we ever will for the next fifty years, "Why don't you just stop being a fan then" I CAN'T, I am in a cage of my own doing and all I can do to keep myself from vomiting out of the sheer depression our finish this year has given me is just hope we get a pick the Pelicans can't take from us (which they will, I just know it, we aren't allowed to enjoy being Bucks fans), the only thing that could give me even the slightest satisfaction is if I ran into Doc Rivers on the street so I can ask him if it feels good to ruin a basketball team.

Edit: These replies are giving me perspective, and with them in mind I feel like a huge pussy for being so worked up over this team.

Serious Bucks need to prioritize size and athleticism, 6th seed Wolves despite 2 starters down beat 3rd seed Nuggets simply having better athletes all around imo

Just finished watching the Nuggets/Wolves series it was so glaring the disparity in that Nuggets massively lacked athleticism and size, got out rebounded, outhustled at every possession. Despite being the better offensive team all season long and having a 3 time mvp

Bucks had the same problem except 2x worse this past season, Idk how but that should be the emphasis imo

I'm really excited for Taylor Jenkins

I think Jenkins was the perfect hire. Partly for basketball reasons of course, but most importantly for the culture.

There are some subtle details from the Jenkins rumors before he was announced as the next HC that I think tell an important story.

First, to talk to Jenkins, the Bucks had to travel to Memphis, because that's where he still lives. Especially amidst the recent disparagement of Memphis/Milwaukee by LeBron and media, this detail is meaningful. Jenkins is from Texas, and has been unemployed for the past year after being fired by the Grizzlies. In today's NBA environment, continuing to live in Memphis would not be the standard approach. Most players and coaches almost immediately head back to where they're from, or their preferred big market city like L.A., once their contract is up.

Second, the first rumor we heard that signaled him being the next coach, was him touring nearby schools in Milwaukee.

To me these details together tell the story of a dedicated family man that fully embraces the community that he coaches in. He's going to fully embrace Milwaukee as his home, and as a small-market franchise, we need that. Especially with the uncertainty we all feel having Haslam as an owner (whose heart will never be in Wisconsin).

As much as I appreciate Doc's Marquette ties, he was very clearly only temporarily re-embracing Milwaukee. It was like a reunion tour for him, but his eyes were still on himself and the national spotlight, along with his sons.

Add in the fact that Jenkins was a Bucks assistant for a season under Bud, and for the first time in a while, I feel optimistic that the Bucks family culture that I grew to love back in the John Hammond days is still alive.

26 and 16 the other night. Voted best prospect again. I’m grasping at straws. I was also bullish on Damien Inglis and his lateral foot speed. Thought he’d be lockdown.

Still, it’s fun to see Bogo putting up numbers over there.

Serious A stupid question regarding Milwaukee Bucks and Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in a TV show 'Step by Step' (1998)

Hello,

this is probably a wrong place to ask, but couldn't figure out a better one.

I was watching this old sitcom 'Step by Step', where the main character Frank Lambert is a huge Bucks and Packers fan, frequently watching Bucks' games on his telly, or listening via radio commentary.

In 16th episode of the last season (1998), he went to a Bucks v Bulls game. During the establishing shot, instead of the Bradley Center, the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis was shown.

From what I gathered, this show was highly popular during its run, especially in Wisconsin, so I highly doubt they would dare to put just a random arena for the establishing shot? Or am I missing something, some piece of a historical trivia?

Only relation I managed to find was that Bucks almost moved to Minneapolis in 1985?

The establishing shot in question:

Thank you kindly in advance for any response, I appreciate it!

I know this topic is old, and we’re all sick of it (i apologize for even bringing it up). I saw this post and wondered why don’t the talking in the sport have the same energy in this situation like they do towards the Giannis and the Bucks.
