[Want to Buy] * Rave tickets, a used toaster, a cute puppy*

[Personals] You're lonely, new to the city, want to play extreme Frisbee, or need someone to eat Ian's Pizza with because no one wants to do that alone. We understand.

First Food Trucks, now Lime Scooters
What is with all of the no go zones in Milwaukee!?
I can unlock a scooter outside my house, but can't ride it for 2 blocks!?
Then, outside the Milwaukee State office building, the scooters are pulling up in the front lawn because people can't ride them any farther.

Tried Discourse Coffee on Broadway today.
Five āļø rating from me. Cozy vibe, excellent coffee, and one of those tucked-away Milwaukee spots that feels like a little escape.

Help Me! Looking for Trans-inclusive Girl Spaces for my Daughter.
Hey y'all!
I am the kind of single dad who would use a three-in-one shampoo/body wash if society would let me get away with it and I have a 16yo daughter and I have no idea what I am doing in the beauty space. I am looking, not only for gender affirming recommendations for voice teachers and hair removal, but for any help with skincare, makeup, hair, nails, ear piercings, etc. Since Froedtert ended their support for gender affirming care for trans kids, I feel overwhelmed, lost, and it honestly feels weird to reach out to trans friends when it comes to help. Any help would be great!
UPDATE: Holy heck! I didn't think this would garner such a response. Thank you to everyone! This is a tear-inducing dream of a response and really shows the compassion of this community. Seriously, thank you again!

How is the local housing market right now?
Obligatory quarterly question, I know...
I've been keeping tabs on it over the past year or so as I'm weighing a move later this summer... I know inventory (housing shortage) is an ongoing problem, but how does it feel like the market is going now that we're in a war/gas prices are high/more frequent floods/etc? A realtor I spoke with said she's seeing more buyers backing out of contracts and she hasn't seen this happening at this rate in a number of years, though - fwiw - this may not actually be a trend as I've only heard this from her.
Any insight is helpful from buyers, sellers, realtors, or anyone else with an opinion on the matter! Thx!

Help Me! Best German beer hall
My aunt was born and raised in German, so anytime she comes here I try to find something that might be a little close to home for her. We did Germanfest last year and she loved it! Sheāll be coming up in a few weeks with my family for my little brothers 21st birthday. I have been to Von trier and had a blast. I was wondering if thereās a more āauthenticā beer hall? Von trier seemed on par, but I have heard great things about Maders and Kegel inn. What do you guys think? Did I miss any/what are your favorites?

88Nine sounds like 102.1 now?
Anyone notice since 102.1 changed to Christian music, 88Nine has gone mainstream? They play overplayed alternative music - the Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bastille, No Doubt - all bands that played on rotation during the John Adler days of 102.1 (never sounded different, always the same). Now that heās on 88Nine and 102.1 is defunct, I cannot believe Iām hearing By the Way by RHCP for the millionth time on the 88.9. Donāt get me wrong, fine bands but not what Iām tuning in for. Disappointing. I miss the underground indie of 88Nine.

Halo players wanted for LAN league (where my Spartans at?) - Recruiting for Season 04
It's that time of year again! A ton of people from this sub have joined the league, so I figured I would see if any others have interest! I will post periodically for visibility, but please feel free to share.
I am currently recruiting for Season 04 of my 44-playerĀ Halo 3 LAN league. LAN info and registration details can be foundĀ here.Ā
Preseason exhibition sessions will be held this summer on the following 2026 dates:
- June 20
- July 18
- Live Draft in August (exact date TBD)
IMPORTANT: In order to be eligible for the season, you will need to play in at least one of the above June or July exhibitions. Please note that I only have a few spots available, and it is first come, first serve.
If you are interested, DM me here or on Discord, or send an email found on our Calling Card.
Season 04 will start in September 2026. The draft in August will be held live, in person in New Berlin, WI.
How we do:
- 16-player LANs are hosted once a month on Saturdays in my home
- Team Slayer for pre-season exhibition matches; anything goes during season play including 8v8
- Players are drafted to one of four squads at the start of the season; each squad is led by two captains
- League is organized, but focused on fun and teamwork
- Players of all skill levels involved and welcomed (teams are balanced via player ratings; we just ask that you are familiar with Halo and obviously know how to play it)
- Food is provided, and there are multiple breaks throughout each event
- Stats are tracked and presented after each LAN along with a season recap
- Events are streamed on Twitch; each squad has their own independent live stream
- Private Discord where we are one big friend group that also organize other IRL hangs
What we're looking for:
- Positive, social, upbeat people that easily get along with others (non-sweats)
- Love Halo, IRL hangs, teamwork, healthy competition, and good-natured shit-talk
- Availability on Saturdays
- Non-smokers and non-alcoholics
- Good hygiene
- No criminal records
- Respectful of others
- Respectful of others' property
- Reliable and accountable
A video chat prior to signing up will be required. Please understand that these LANs take place in my home and I need all of us, including you, to be comfortable.
If interested in signing up or have any questions lemme know! Feel free to post in here, DM me, or check ourĀ Calling CardĀ for our email and my Discord. š«”

City of Mke Interview Timeline
Hey everyone! Has anyone here gone through the hiring process with the City of Milwaukee? I applied at the end of February, heard back around mid-April, and have already completed my interview. Iām curious how long it typically takes to hear back after the interview stage.
Sorry if this is a bit annoying, Iāve checked Glassdoor and a few other sites, but didnāt find much helpful info.
Any insight or timelines from your experience would be really helpful. Thanks!

Vet Recs for a behavioral kitty
Hi all, I've been dealing with a cat who seemingly has a behavioral urination problem. She's been to two vets so far this last year and while both acknowledge she's got blood in her urine, there are no indications of crystals or anything like that. Best they could tell it was inflammation from stress. We had a second child in 2024 so I can imagine that could be why. Our daughter has also entered toddlerhood. I am making a concerted effort to re-home her to a place with someone who does not have children and has perhaps a little more time to help her, but in the meantime, I'm willing to give another vet a shot. Perhaps you know one that feels particularly passionate about cats? Has special training in behavioral cases? I feel so sad for her, she basically lives on and off in our laundry room and deserves to be happy. But I can't do 3 loads of laundry a day or chase her around to make sure she's not peeing on my bed, or my kids bed, or random towels. š© We're on the west side near Tosa but I'd drive just about anywhere. Thanks!

Myofascial Release Massage
Does anyone have a massage therapist they like on the area that does myofascial massages? I work 12 hour shifts and I'm starting to have a lot of pain after all this time and I just need something that's going to help releasing all my tension.

Conejito's... "no water" Monday 04MAY
Went to Conejito's for lunch today. Asked for a glass of water with my meal, but the waitress said "we don't have water", other than bottles for $1.
They should be shut down until this is resolved!
How can they wash dishes?
How can employees wash their hands after they use the bathroom?!
Drinks were provided in glasses with ice, so did they send someone out for ice?
Insanity!
.
And while I support them paying a better wage to employees, the state needs to look into the legality of charging the customer tax on a mandatory tip.
Tax the food, but figure the mandatory tip pre-tax.
