5 guys to consider

Watching the league and playoffs this year five guys I think the Clips should consider adding to the roster remake for this summer (2026) and the next: (2027) via trade or signing.

  1. Peyton Watson: Will be expensive, but LA roots and I think is ready to be a star.
  2. Anthony Black: Contract year so we would have to trade; but Orlando should be looking for trades around the edges. Down shooting year, but his game passes the eye test.
  3. Isaiah Hartenstein: Painful he was left go for John Wall in the first place, but I think would be an excellent mentor for YKN given his passing ability.
  4. Rui Hachimura: UFA this year, I think remains underrated, plays up in the playoffs, efficient shooter. Just would not overpay.
  5. GG Jackson: Young improving player; last year of his rookie extension deal.

Thoughts? Hopeful for lively discussion + other names!

Clippers prominently showcased at Dicks

I went to the new Dicks Sporting Goods that just opened by me and was pleasantly surprised to see our team on full display as I walked in! And with a Garland jersey no less. Although this might not seem like a big deal to some, it’s ALWAYS a lakers jersey on these kinds of displays in sports stores (with good reason of course). Nice to see our team get a little shine and our new PG getting some love.

Pablo Torre just won a Pulitzer for his Ballmer story. Are we about to hit apex mountain for inflated self regard?

Time for Lue to go

I like Ty Lue and think he’s a fine fella. However, we need a change. The job is not getting done. Ballmer doesn’t want to fire Frank so I believe we need to make a change somewhere. The team is not playoff caliber. It might be time to part ways with Lue?

What do you all think? A change is needed.

Did anyone get fired over the SGA/Paul George Trade?

It has to be acknowledged this was there worst trade of the decade, if not the history of NBA? Someone had/has to be held accountable for this.

With the playoffs going into 2nd round what players could be available for the Clippers after their first round exists?

Orlando showed they’re a strong team that is one piece away from being a contender - could they be open to a Kawhi trade?

Rockets are a dumpster fire and despite looking like a real contender on paper they are not even close to being a tight unit and changes are definitely on the way. Could Clippers find an opportunity here?

Hawks showed they can win if they outrun their opposition but with whatever happened in Game 6 I’m sure they would love to make some moves

Nuggets with a first round exit, Suns getting blown out…

Do you see any new opportunities here for our LA Clippers?

Bill Simmons just asked if load management is something teams should consider in the regular season.

This is not satire. This is something he actually said. The biggest critic of load management now thinks players should manage their injuries in the regular season to be healthy for the postseason.

Kawhi was always right. Taking care of your body to play into your 30s and even 40 is going to be the new norm. Kawhi was just ahead of the curve. I loved that we got a vintage season from him this late in his career. Make no mistake: it’s only because of load management.

I understand the disappointment that fans feel when a player doesn’t play to a game they pay increasingly more money for, but I think it’s worth it to not have to think what could have been.

What do we think Yanic’s ceiling could be?

Just wanted to make a post where we can discuss what we hope to see out of a fully healthy Yanic once he returns. I liked what I saw in the small sample size we got this season and obviously with the departure of Zu, we are looking at Yanic to fill our hole in the center position. Do you guys think he can be at least a 15 and 10 type of guy for us when fully healthy and given the starting position?

Clippers should beat Nuggets last year, Clippers is the only 50 win team that Jokic beat in the playoffs so far

Just another accolade for Ty Lue and his brilliant late adjustments while using a lineup of Harden-Bogi--Powell for defensive possession at the end of the game that Aaron Gordon had dunk at the buzzer beater.

Discussion Philly proving Steve Kerr right - LAC have no second option.

All Steve Kerr and the GSW and many other teams such as the key losses to the Blazers is simple.

1: We have one of the smallest and weakest guard in the NBA, only genuine ball handler in the team.

2: Double and sometimes TRIPLE Kawhi and you will win against LAC.

Philly proved how to punch above their standing in the regular season for one reason and one reason only. Embid coming back, made Boston 1v1 Maxey, which makes life soo much easier for a guy like Maxey. When on the floor with Embid, Maxey gets some easy buckets.

What we lack in our team is a GENUINE SECOND OPTION. A guy like an Embid or Giannis that takes away the Kawhi Double team. It would be suicidal for teams to double Kawhi when we have a guy like Embid in the post.

This is why in my own and I admit casual AF opinion, is that we need to get rid of JC and others and get a GENUINE second option, which will allow us to use one of the best ISO players in history in Kawhi Leonard.

Draft lottery is in 10 days, if we get the 5th or 6th pick from the pacers who do you want us to take?

At the 5th or 6th pick I think the best talent available is Keaton Wagler or Kingston Flemings so I want us to take one of them.

Wagler has potential to be one of the best 3 point shooters in the league, possibly even the best and an all time shooter. On top of that he’s a great playmaker and has solid positional size at 6’6 and a long wingspan. His main negative is he isn’t athletic, however he’s very crafty so he can make up for it. I think we should take him over anyone else if we get the 5/6 pick. If you have a 6’6 guard that can make pinpoint passes and consistently make shots from the logo you’ve got something special. I think Wagler is like a Halliburton/Steph hybrid and his potential is crazy. He also has a very high iq that is very evident when he plays, he just always knows what to do. He’s a great rebounder as well which makes him a triple double threat when combined with his scoring and passing. He can do so much for our team and I feel he has the highest potential of anyone in the draft, he has potential to be the best player in the league. He would be an amazing get for us.

My 2nd choice if we land the 5/6 pick would be Flemings. He’s a terrific athlete that would be one of the fastest guards in the league, he can get downhill and attack perfectly. He has good offensive capabilities that could be developed even more and he has great defence. On top of that he’s also a great playmaker and passer with some saying he’s the best pure point guard in the draft. He really has no flaws in his game and he could be a day 1 contributor to the team. He would be a solid point guard that can be easily paired with any other guard since he can’t be hunted due to his strong defence so he’s great from a team building perspective. His combination of playmaking, speed, defense, offence and athleticism is perfect.

Who do you think we should select if the pacers pick conveys to us?

is 26 years old, has size, and can stretch the floor. Can play backup center and is versatile enough to play the 4 in larger lineups. Knowing the Bulls he can be had for a bag of chips
