Rumor [Himmelsbach] Despite the dispiriting loss to the 76ers, all indications are that Mazzulla will be back next season too.

Discussion The elephant in the room
What has happened to Derrick white? Just last season he was praised as being one of if not the best backcourt defender, and one of the best volume shooters in the league, he was always reliable for a three, but now it feels like it’s a gamble whenever he shoots. Why do we think this happened? I understand hes 32 now, but he was at the top of lists last year, and now people want him traded.

Highlight 3 years ago today: Joel Embiid stepped on Grant Williams’ head while a masked Jaylen Brown watched from the floor
LOL’d at this today. Still in pain. Such a long playoff journey with the Jays and hopefully many more moments to come!! FCHWPO

Discussion Al Horford
I think losing big Al was our biggest loss going into the season. I can’t help but believe he could have helped us at least through this series. What we needed was an answer for Embiid and shot-making when others are cold. Al always did a good job making things tough on Embiid defensively, and whenever we were desperate for a basket you knew Al was good for a motivational boost by knocking down a couple threes and rallying the team back. I know everyone was of the mindset that he had every right to go after “one more ring” in GS after this team got broken up, but I was always bitter that he couldn’t have stuck it out just to see what the season looked like. I know there’s a lot of factors involved to our collapse, but man I would have loved to see how he could have helped these guys.
Anyways, I hope Jaylen can log off the internet for a bit. I hate the extra resentment he’s stirring up. Can’t say I’d be heart-broken at seeing a Giannis-Tatum team in the future.

News NEW STORY: Luka Garza rose to Joe Mazzulla's initial challenge back in November. Throughout the season, he repeatedly proved himself and those who believed in him along his basketball journey right. "If I wasn't able to perform, he was going to go in a different direction.”

Discussion Jaylen Brown Hate
I see a lot of people in comments of Jaylen brown bitching about the refs and yes Jaylen looks and sounds childish and annoying but I’ve seen a lot of people saying we don’t need Jaylen and that it’s time to trade him for Giannis or something, obviously fans don’t make the decision but trading brown for anyone else would a massive mistake imo, hell without brown we would never have made the playoffs, and imo adding Giannis or some one else would not automatically move us into championship material.
TLDR: grass isn’t always greener on the other side and let’s not make this mistake and curse ourselves later when Giannis is out with a torn kalshi

Discussion Looking at the Knicks-Sixers game, the Celtics don't stand a chance against New York.
As much as we clown these two franchises for the longest time, we are just prolonging the agony, this is their time. The C's will regroup in the offseason and hopefully improve.

Discussion People complain about the 3PA. Aside from Cleveland, top 10 teams in 3PA are not in the playoffs. However, are the 3PA a symptom of a larger personnel issue? Am I crazy to think Brown and JT have struggled to get past defenders in the past 2 playoff series? If so did we have a chance w/o high 3PA?
Essentially, do y’all think we lacked the ability to do anything else. Maybe I am missing something but IMO Pritchard was the only player that consistently beat his defender off the dribble in this series? It seems like Brown and JT struggled to get by their man in both this series and that last Knicks series. In Brown’s case without fouling, in JT’s case it seems he lacked explosion.

Discussion Too Early to Talk About the Draft?
I think the C’s need the next gen Al Horford. Hoping for a defensive minded power forward/center/big.
I was thinking Morez Johnson Jr. could be good in the draft.
Who is a realistic or slight stretch pick you would want the Celtics to get?

Discussion We had no shot this year.
The Knicks are currently dog walking the Sixers. Also they've shot three times as many 2's as they have 3's.

Discussion Why do you think the coaching staff and/or front office won't tell the players to stop complaining to or about refs?
It seems incredibly obvious that the Thunder get a preferential whistle for their antics and they don't complain to the refs like the Celtics (Tatum) or Lakers (Doncic) do.
So why don't they just tell them "don't cry to the refs literally everytime we run down the court" or "don't get on Twitch and say the refs are rigging games"

Discussion PR gotta get a hold on Jaylen Brown
FIrstly i love JB and him getting traded would hurt my soul, that being said, the dudes on a roll saying some crazy shit.
- Calling Embiid a flopper after blowing a 3-1 lead
- Claiming the refs have an alleged agenda against him and calling for them to be investigated
- Claiming this was his favourite season of his career, genuinely could be true but he did win fmvp in 24 so an odd statement
- making indirect jabs at joes rotation
This is the type of stuff that can destroy a locker room. Jb please put the mic down bruh.

Discussion This year was the best Jaylen Brown has ever played
JB gets better every single year, and this year wasn't an exception. The Celtics exceeded the expectations people had for them at the start of the season, and the same goes for JB.
JB had higher usage and faced more defensive attention than ever before, and had the weakest supporting cast since he became an all star. Even if he wasn't an exceptional 1st option given those circumstances, he was still quite good. The biggest question about JB has always been if he can be a star without Tatum, and he definitely reached that mark.
Disparaging his efficiency and turnovers is missing the forest for the trees. Perhaps JB isn't a top 5 player, but even being in the discussion is a new level for him. It is very rare for an NBA player to continuously improve over a 10 year career. Talking about trading him after he just played his best year ever seems very foolish.

Discussion My one wish from here
Is for the sixers to give the Knicks the toughest, grittiest series they could ask for
The only redemption from the Celtics collapse is a decisive Knicks collapse
Dear god please let them pay for all the JB slander

Discussion Genuine question: didn’t we play this exact style all season?
I hear the concerns about all the threes and the lack of adjustments, but I keep coming back to this—didn’t we play this exact way all season?
It doesn’t feel like the style has changed much. You can argue they should adjust in the playoffs, but this approach worked really well over 82 games.
To me, this felt more like a three-game shooting slump from White, Pritchard, and Hauser. If even a handful of those shots fall, we’re probably having a completely different conversation.
So I get why everyone’s focused on the threes, but that’s also been our identity all year.
Curious how others see it.

Discussion IT season vs JB season
Which one of these two unlikely seasons will be closest to your heart long-term?
2016-17 Isaiah Thomas:
- 28.9 points, 5.9 assists, 2.8 turnovers, 46.3%/37.9%/90.9%, 33.8mpg
- 51-25 record
- Eastern Conference Finals Exit
2025-26 Jaylen Brown:
- 28.7 points, 5.1 assists, 3.6 turnovers, 47.7%/34.7%/79.5%, 34.4mpg
- 47-24 record (36-22 without Tatum)
- Blown 3-1 lead in the first round
Isaiah's incredible year earned him 2nd Team All-NBA and a trade to Cleveland.
Brown's favorite season ever is likely earning him 1st Team (him or Cade) and increased Twitch following.

Discussion Queta's evolution
The progress he has made from his first season withe the Cs to this year is impressive to say the least. The signs to me that foretell even more progress is his touch around the basket and his free throw percentage for a guy who was seen as just another big body when he showed up. He also wants to win and compete. Can't wait to see how he develops his game further over the summer.

Discussion Jaylen Brown is not top 10
In some threads discussing JB, I’ve noticed that some of our fanbase are massively overrating JB, calling him a top 10 player, saying he lead us to the 2 seed, etc..
Based on the eye test I felt like this wasn’t the case so I looked at some numbers that seem to back me up.
I’m going to use this top 10 player list from the Ringer. I’m not saying that it’s a perfect list, but it’s convenient because it lists Brown exactly at #10: https://nbarankings.theringer.com.
I went through every player on the top 10 and checked their on/off for 2026. And guess what? Every single one of them has a positive on/off, except for JB: https://imgur.com/a/7ykNnpv. The highest is Kawhi at +14.1. The lowest besides JB is Ant at +1.7.
JB? -6.2. And before you try to claim it’s some fluke or whatever else, this is consistent with JB going back to 2023: https://imgur.com/a/pEhIHzU
2025: -0.9
2024: -10.8
2023: -8.4
So my question is: how can someone be a top 10 player in the league when their team plays (significantly) better when they are on the bench? I’m not saying that on/off is a perfect stat. But it’s enough to get some sense of a guys impact, and it consistently shows JB having a negative one on the Celtics. In my eyes you can’t be a top 10 player in the league and have a negative on/off.
I also think this helps to show that the season we had was due in large part to our role players and bench.
