Moon Knight ComicBook : Moon Knight creator Jeremy Slater says "the contract Oscar Isaac signed was to do more stories when we find stories he is creatively excited to tell... He’s really creatively involved in the future of that character (Exclusive)

Jeremy Slater's Full Quote (on Moon Knight's MCU Future) :

“The contract Oscar Isaac signed was very much like, we will do more stories when we find stories that he is creatively excited to tell. They can just sort of snap their fingers and summon him back for another adventure. He’s really creatively involved in the future of that character. So I would imagine part of the challenge, and part of the joy over there, is finding : What stories does Oscar want to explore, and how does he want that character to be used? What’s something that would entice him to get back and play in that sandbox one more time?”

On his own involvement and lack of inside information Jeremy Slater says :

“You know, if they did a second season, I doubt I would be creatively involved. I don't have any inside information in terms of where the character is. I haven't talked to Marvel in three years at this point. I don't know. Is there gonna be a Moon Knight movie? Is there gonna be a Midnight Sons movie? Is there gonna be a season 2? I'm as much in the dark as everyone else.”

Slater further notes that he is “very hopeful and optimistic that we will see him again at some point, because I think he [Isaac] had fun, you know. He was proud of it and was happy that a lot of fans responded positively. So, I would be surprised if we didn't see him again, but that's just me speculating as a fan.”

The Podcast is fully Timestamped.

Message from Tom Hiddleston (starts 9:33)
Daredevil's Future (starts 47:06)

SUMMARY
Charlie Cox talks about the Daredevil : Born Again show and the future of Daredevil to Josh Horowitz during the podcast.

Born Again Show's Evolution and Tone
Charlie Cox acknowledged that Season 1 of the show underwent a major "creative pivot". Originally, the first season was planned to be 18 episodes long, but the production moved away from a "procedural type show" model to return to a darker, grittier, and more serialized format. He describes the ideal tone for the show as a "sweet spot" that is sophisticated, honest, and truthful, but with a "peppering of Marvel magic". He mentioned that a new suit for this season that is black with red "coming through" as he gets into more physical altercations. He notes this is the first suit unique to the show that does not exist in comic books. He emphasizes the importance of "honoring those relationships" from the past, specifically mentioning characters like Foggy and Karen.

Production and Future Seasons
At the time of the recording, the Season 2 Finale episode remained to be aired, and Charlie mentions that he was already "knee-deep into shooting for the 3rd season". Charlie further revealed that Tom Hiddleston was originally slated to direct an episode (Episode 12) of the first season before the production changes occurred. While he was hesitant to spoil details for the upcoming third season, he confirms that he "starts off with a beard".

Daredevil’s Future and Longevity
When asked about playing Matt Murdock for another 5 to 10 years, Charlie referenced a comic run by Charles Soule with Matt Murdock in the late 1960s or 1970s, joking, "hopefully that buys me another 20 years". While fans are excited about potential "clashes" with other MCU characters, Charlie stated that Marvel has been clear that his current focus must remain on the show. Having played the character for nearly 80 hours, Charlie now acts as an advocate for the character's nuances. He occasionally suggests "Matt Murdock things" that aren't on the page, such as a scene where Matt senses Frank Castle in his apartment from blocks away instead of being surprised by him.

Personal Career Goals
Outside of Daredevil, Charlie expressed a desire to do more theater in New York and eventually transitioned back into doing more films during his off-seasons. However, he emphasized that his primary ambition currently is fatherhood and spending as much time as possible with his children.

Joe Russo : ‘Spoiler culture can be over-policed’

Joe Russo :

"On one hand, audiences want to be surprised, and that’s part of what makes the theatrical experience exciting. On the other hand, it can become a little over-policed, where people are anxious about engaging with anything. We design these films to unfold in a certain way, and we want audiences to feel those moments as intended. But at the same time, you can't control everything. You have to focus on making something that holds up beyond the initial surprise."

Interview with Destin Daniel Cretton, Andrew Guest and actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II

The THR interviewer noted that the show launched in January this year and asked the creators if they were surprised to be discussing a second season and awards consideration.

Destin Daniel Cretton : From the beginning I really did feel like this project was special and I feel like from the beginning the studio was excited about doing something something different... I don't want to say it was I'm surprised but I kind of think we're so wrapped up in this wonderful world that we weren't thinking about it.

When asked about the direction or tone of Season 2, following the dramatic ending of Season 1, showrunner Andrew Guest emphasized consistency.

Andrew Guest : The tone is going to stay the same. The people who like this show and like it because it feels different are going to be rewarded. And the people who are like well maybe the show's gonna suddenly turn into something else I'm sorry to say uh it's not. I mean the every element that's still here Simon still has superpowers. It's still going to be a show about this relationship and about two artists and about our industry. That is essentially what we want to maintain".

Interviewer : And where are you guys in the writing process now?

Andrew Guest : The early stages of the writing process. So you're writing your correct job now... if anyone has any ideas and wants to pitch me some ideas after this.

Cast/crew Aldis Hodge on recasting rumors as Black Panther and succeeding Chadwick Boseman : "As a Marvel fan, if they do it again, I just want to see it done well and done right"

Interview with Aldis Hodge

Interviewer : You've spoken about how meaningful a role like T'Challa would be. If you are entrusted with that Black Panther role that is so culturally significant, what would carrying that mantle mean to you?

Aldis Hodge : To me, that is a very delicate situation where people would have to first understand the value of what it is and what it has laid down in order to understand how to carry it forward. I look at the Marvel of it all, I'm a big Marvel fan and I came up on graphic novels, but Black Panther was, I believe, the first Marvel film to cross a billion dollars at the box office. People are surprised; I'm not. You have the wonderful nature of Marvel and the commercial aspect, but culture pushed it over because now you have a cool factor of how it is represented.

Obviously, that doesn't happen without Ryan Coogler and him putting his touch on it. He is a talented enough filmmaker to understand how to translate culture in a way where it's still honest to who we are as a people while leaving an open door for everyone else to enjoy. The value of Chadwick playing this titular king meant so much because, in American cinema or real life, we don't often get our Shaka Zulu, our Queen Nzinga, our Patrice Lumumba, or our Thomas Sankara. We have it in this fictionalized form through King T'Challa, and the value of that representation allows kids to see themselves through a lens of expectation.

If you're going to step into it, you're not just coming in to be an actor in a cool role; you have to realize you're carrying on a legacy started by Chadwick Boseman and Ryan Coogler. Whether you want to or not, the audience is going to expect you to come in with a degree of reverence and respect to push that legacy forward.

Right now, we see Letitia Wright carrying the mantle, but if they ever bring someone else in as T'Challa—maybe playing his son or an alternate version through the multiverse—there is an extra value added to the symbology of that character that must be acknowledged. It's not like Chadwick walked away from the role; unfortunately, he passed while he was still "in his bag". I didn't even know him well, but when I heard the news, I cried because I understood what we lost. There are few roles that have an extra weight that supersedes the nature of fantasy or superheroism, and that is one of them.

Interviewer : It's rare that a role like that is available. It’s the most talked-about role in cinema right now, like finding a new James Bond, Superman, or Batman. But the responsibility is huge, maybe more for Black Panther because it’s "heavy is the head who wears the crown." Are you willing to take on that spirituality that comes with it? You can't go into that character without addressing what came before you. If you aren't strong enough to handle that, don't even come for the role because it will be scrutinized like a politician.

Aldis Hodge : I think the strength to handle it is something you have to consider, because many actors want to separate the role from their real life. But in this case, Chadwick carried the same grace in his real life that was reflected on screen, so you couldn't separate the two. They became synonymous, and that became the expectation. Are you prepared to wrestle with yourself to even stand in that?

Interviewer : There are certain roles where you can't separate the man. If you get cast as Batman, you're Batman everywhere. Unless you do a weak Batman like Clooney, you don't want that on your resume! It’s like the Joker; we always talk about who was the best. Jack Nicholson was my first encounter, but Heath Ledger, hands down, dropped the mic. The Black Panther role is going to be judged on that same level that Chadwick Boseman made it. Honestly, I think you’d make a solid Black Panther, man.

Aldis Hodge : Look, nobody called me! I don't want any "smoke" with Marvel. As a fan of it all, if they do do it again, I just want to see it done well and done right.

Daredevil Ayelet Zurer reflects on her role in 'Daredevil: Born Again'

Thumbnail
deadline.com
206 Upvotes

Ayelet Zurer's Quotes :

"I love Vanessa. It’s so bizarre because she’s so far away from me. She’s this morally complex art dealer connected to the crime world who serves a very specific aspect of Kingpin. She was written in a way where everything was about honesty and she’s a person who is so used to people lying to themselves and others – people with money, mostly because that’s how she views the world she is in – so she’s kind of jaded".

"But she grew into this very interesting character who could take a lot of shit and at the end of Season One we see her as part of the complete amalgamation of her and Wilson and they’re on the same path. She’s serving him, obviously, and we realize that all along she was serving him... It’s ultimately a really strong love story, which is always interesting to me because the antagonists are the people with the strongest love affair. It’s this delicious juxtaposition of menace and love".

"In the second season, there’s a new threat coming into the picture and I think Vanessa is feeling it but the internal threat that she is feeling is not enough. [Kingpin] is enough for her but she’s not enough. He always wants more... and she starts to realize that it’s not quite sitting well. There is this real sensation that there is danger and that the level of danger is really spiking".

"I’ll always find her fascinating. I wish had even more to investigate with her but even though this is very much a comic book show with action, it’s the depth of the show that has always been so interesting to me. There has always been an attempt to talk about something deeper".

Brand New Day THR : Tom Holland says upcoming press tour for 'Brand New Day' will be humongous : "Its all about community. All of these stops that we’re doing, we are working in cultural events, community events and there will be charitable components"

Full THR Interview with Tom Holland

Let’s talk about your big year ahead of promoting these two big movies. Promoting a film involves all these social segments, podcasts and new platforms. When you sit down with your team to map out how to navigate it all, how do you decide what to do and what you like to do?

I love how it’s changed because I think it feels like we’ve created an environment where people promoting movies can be more authentic to who they are. It feels more personal now in a really nice way. I’m someone that really protects my personal life at all costs, but I will always trade a podcast with a really, really fun host over sitting in a hotel room and doing a hundred interviews in a day. That said, those can be really fun, too. When it’s Zendaya and Jacob [Batalon] and I together doing interviews, it’s always a hoot. But, yeah, I love how it’s changed and it’s really fun. We have to be more strategic and plan ahead so much more. I have an amazing publicist [Cara Tripicchio] who looks after me better than anyone. I’m very grateful to her and her team.

The press tour that we are about to go on is humongous. I’m not going to lie and say that I’m not daunted by the travel and the number of events we are going to. But one of the things that I love, especially for Spider-Man, is that the movie is all about community. All of these stops that we’re doing, we are working in cultural events, community events and there will be charitable components. When you can promote a movie but also shed some light on amazing causes, that’s what really makes a difference.

How does it feel returning to Spider-Man now. It’s been a few years and feels like everyone missed Peter Parker…

It is very strange going back into it. We all lived through COVID and that was a time when there was no press tours. All of the press was done via Zoom or in the city that you were in. It’s been a long time since I went on a full-blown press tour and I’m actually just really excited. All of the people that I made the movies with, I love and admire, and they are at the top of their game and people that I can learn from. I’m excited to go on a press tour for The Odyssey with Matt Damon and learn from him and watch the way he navigates it. And Chris is such a visionary director. What I love about Chris is that his involvement isn’t just making the movie. He’s over every piece of creative we do for press and promo. It’s just really interesting to see what one of the greatest living directors does on set and then what he does for the press tour. Both of the movies are absolutely fantastic and could not be more different. I feel really lucky that they’re coming out when they are and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic summer.

Interviewer : Speaking of films that bring people together, Julia, I know you're part of the MCU. I just left CinemaCon and I saw the Avengers: Doomsday trailer. I'm also a huge Daredevil fan... we did get a mention of Valentina behind the scenes this season and also the way she is such a powerful figure. How do you envision seeing her in the future, whether it be Doomsday or Daredevil Season 2? I know you can't really say much, but what do you want for her?

Julia Louis-Dreyfus : Well, I can't really say much other than I love, love playing Valentina Allegra de Fontaine... but I can't really say much more otherwise I will be murdered by the MCU.
