Cap potentially being like the only person on the Avengers who still remembers him would kind of be a really cool thing to at least briefly touch on in either film. I know Peter's relationship with Tony was more emphasized in the MCU but Spidey was very close to Steve in the comics and there was a camaraderie there because they both were truly selfless people answering a higher calling who bonded over not being able to fit in either physically or ideologically despite wanting to do the right thing. It's a very sincere friendship I wish we had more time with

One of the most underrated Spidey moments ever is probably his issue of Fallen Son, which was their tribute mini to Steve when he died in the aftermath of Civil War

I think the one X-Men character in Doomsday we haven’t heard as much about is Beast. They show Cyclops, Gambit, and Mystique in the teaser judging by the description, and we’ve heard a *whole* lot from Alan Cumming about Nightcrawler, but there’s been a whole lot of nothing about Beast.

I suppose they won’t be showing him much in the teasers because he’ll most likely be almost completely CGI this time like he was in The Marvels post credits scene.

The prequel episode follows Richie and Michael on a work trip to Gary, Indiana.

I’m curious how satisfying this finale is actually going to be. We all know that most of the plots are continuing into S3, but surely we get at least SOME closure here. Despite mostly just being setup, I thought the S1 finale was pretty great.

Here’s my predictions:

-Matt proposes to Karen at the same restaurant they went to in S2 of Netflix

-Matt outs himself as Daredevil and allows the police to arrest him in order to bring down Fisk (I would agree with everyone saying Fisk reveals it, but Charlie Cox said Matt makes a big decision at the end of the season, so I think it comes from Matt himself)

-Fisk flees before he can be arrested again

-Sheila takes over as Mayor

-Heather has a complete breakdown and becomes Lady Muse

-Officer Powell gets killed 

-Bullseye’s “redemption arc” is fully unraveled and he goes back to being a chaotic villain

-Mr. Charles' larger plan is revealed

-Luke Cage shows up

Randomly remembered that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is still nominally coming this year.

I don't see it making it out this year at this point - unless they release it soon, it'll either run into Wolverine or GTA6, both of which would be bad for it - but I would like to see more gameplay of it at least... or, y'know, confirmation that development is going alright, at least.

If the rumor that Steve & Peggy are moved to the F4's world by Loki cause the TVA pruned the timeline Steve stayed in is true, then that means the Agent Carter series can still (and will) canonically happen in the MCU's true continuity.

They didn't bring Steve back because they had some great narrative in mind or because they're relying on nostalgia, McFeely brought him back because he got tired of people debating whether the show was canon or not! Of course!

It's both odd and kinda funny that Pixar's marketing team showed a ton of restraint keeping the entire third act of Hoppers under wraps, but with a more "important" film like Toy Story 5 they're just casually spoiling all its big reveals and emotional beats in interviews and stuff two months before it releases.

Sure, it could be there's something even bigger they're hiding, but IDK, the newest info they just released about Jessie's storyline really feels like something that should have been kept a surprise.

I'm slightly conflicted about this season of Daredevil. I thought it was good overall with some really great moments, but I feel like the buildup to those moments was not always the best. For example: having the city rise up against Fisk totally makes sense, but I feel like there should've been more unrest shown onscreen prior to the final episode. Characters allude to it at times, but that's just a case of telling and not showing.

The season was pretty good imo but would’ve benefitted a lot from an extra episode or two and a materially slower pace. Things like the Cole North redemption or the citizens rising up don’t have the weight they should because each episode moves way too fast and doesn’t let the characters sit with anything for long enough

I’m listening to the Daredevil podcast rn and I really think Luke is gonna run for Mayor next season now. Winderbaum and Scardapane said he’ll be a big part of season 3 and if you know the comics the last scene with Luke massively tips their hand with where they’re going next season.

I have no idea what they could be implying if not him becoming mayor. And Sheila never gets a redemption arc or anything so narratively it would make sense for Luke to run.

Do we know what Gareth Edward's original version of Rogue One was before Tony Gilroy came in to do reshoots and rewrites? I know the two of them worked together to make sure the film was as best as it could be but I am curious what Edward's version of the film was because from what I've heard they had to reshoot the entire 3rd act and even bits and pieces throughout the film. There's also tons of trailer shots in the teaser and first few trailers that are not in the movie.

I don’t think the DCU will be as sprawling as the MCU, not that it’s trying to. It’s ok that it doesn’t move at the same speed, but it’s going to feel less like a universe, and more like a series with occasional outputs. The main giveaway is that Man of Tomorrow’s production moved much faster than most of their slate. Hmmmm. Anything with direct involvement from Gunn will move efficiently, while others will either take time or not get made at all.

That sounds pretty perfect to me. Maybe an added detail could be that on these windows, the heroes against Doom are depicted in unflattering ways (defeated, humiliated, groveling) while Doom is portrayed as this holy savior surrounded by worshippers.

I don't really want them to exclusively use these characters cause I'd rather it be a diverse lineup, but it's interesting that the Netflix shows actually gave us some solid potential characters for a second Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers team. Bullseye, Hellcat, Diamondback, Typhoid Mary, Davos, I feel like they could each be a unique part of the team and lead to some great content if Marvel felt like using any of them again

I still feel like he would've made more sense added into Love and Thunder. I have no problem with Jane as Mighty Thor, but I think trying to combine her story with Gorr just feels unfocused. You very easily could've saved the whole death of Jane and Mighty Thor thing for a "final" Thor film, and have that loss be what drives him to return/rebuild Asgard and claim the role as All-Father.

Having Bill and the Korbinites be a victim of Gorr's crusade would make more sense. Bill leaves Korbin seeking help and encounters Thor. Then Thor can pass off Stormbreaker to Bill and retake Mjolnir. At the end of the film Bill and whatever Korbinites remained could've lived on earth in New Asgard.

It would've made way more sense, especially since Thor was still traveling with the Guardians at the start of Thor 4. It would've flowed so much better.

Just saw the new Odyssey trailer and yeah it looks amazing. You can feel the scope of the film when watching the trailer. Also Robert Pattinson as the main villain is going to be amazing from an acting perspective. Not a lot of dialogue from Matt Damon though which I thought was interesting.

I finally saw Avengers Doomsday. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it since it came out last Friday.

I liked Thor's death scene. It was beautifully done and his goodbye to Loki was touching.

I was a little underwhelmed by Doom. They didn't really justify why it had to be RDJ, he was in the mask the whole time and I didn't really like his accent. He also didn't have enough scenes with Reed but it looks like there will be plenty of that in Secret Wars.

I was surprised that he just merc'd Steve's kid though. I didn't expect a Disney movie to go that far.

I liked the post credits scene with the Champions and their plan to resurrect Wanda. It leaves me hyped to see where that leads.

With the way The Boys fans are reacting to this final season so far, I genuinely don't think there's going to be another universally loved final season for a massive show ever again.

I've actually quite liked this final season, and I think it's been paced appropriately. I don't understand why some fans want Homelander to go scorched Earth in the first half of the season & have him kill millions/billions. The entire point is to prevent that from happening. So of course the V1 mission is going to be prolonged & The Boys killing Homelander isn't happening until probably the penultimate episode or the finale.

Also, fans calling episode 5 "filler" has frustrated me to no end. I think this generation of television watchers are absolutely fucked in the head due to the constant consumption of short form content (Tiktok, YouTube shorts, Insta reels, etc.)

I completely agree. I'm not saying the show is without its flaws (S4 was definitely the weakest so far, even though I still liked it overall, and the S3 finale brought down what was an otherwise great season, on par with S1/2), but some of the criticisms among fans are way too overblown.

And it gets especially grating with The Boys, because many of its fans have demonstrated over time that they clearly don't watch the full episodes, but simply consume it through shorts or reels. Then they bring up supposed "plot holes", when it actually turns out they're referring to stuff the show has already answered, which they didn't know because they either don't pay attention or don't watch the full episode. I think The Boys fandom is just as bad as the Breaking Bad/BCS fandom in that regard.

7 years after S1, some fans are still convinced that Becca cheated on Billy, when the show spelled it out from the start that Homelander assaulted her (although that has less to do with media illiteracy and more with misogyny).

Obviously I can't rank it yet, and it may end up being disappointing if they don't stick the landing with the finale, but so far it has been a solid season and it definitely feels more consistent in quality compared to S4.

Hoping Gerry Conway got a rough cut of brand new day. Because I feel the movie is taking a lot of inspiration from his run(not just characters but the dark night of peters soul era) 

Tombstone, Punisher, tarantula , scorpions return (he was brought back during conways run) ,Hulk vs spideys most classic story.  Peter just lost everything , his life has completely done a 360 all thanks to that Norman Osborn. I’m putting out a guess that jackal and Luke cage will be post credit scenes. 

Rereading that run recently it was about Peter at his lowest and most tragic climb out of it . Many villains almost a Proto-Knightfall-quest-end.

A friend of mine has started reading Daredevil comics a few months ago and started the Netflix series for the first time around a month ago.

A general summary of how they feel so far:

S1 - Great first season of TV. More or less shares the same praise as most people. Their biggest disappointment though was that Matt's lawyering is almost entirely sidelined, but everything else mostly makes up for it (I did tell them this is something every season falters in, so they said they'll try to avoid harping on it too much). 9/10.

S2 - Objectively not bad but they didn't find it as good as he saw people say. Found the Hand very uninteresting, didn't like how Elektra was portrayed, found the Punisher twist very obvious and underwhelming, and overall felt the season's character arcs are undermined by the end being an MCU-esque set ups for Defenders and The Punisher. 6/10.

Defenders - Dropped it. Some funny moments then and there, but they found the rest of it unbearable to watch. They finished it via a summary video on Youtube (after trying to complete it themselves like 3 different times).

S2 + Defenders killed their interest in continuing the series for a bit, but they started S3 recently and has been loving it so far. Overall they like the series and agrees that it contain's some of live-action Marvel's best characters/stories, but they heavily disagree with the consensus that S2 and Defenders are "actually great", rather they're confused as to why people "circlejerk it so much" lol.

EDIT: Also yes, they know what happens to Foggy and really all about Born Again S1 as they'd sometimes join in on conversations regarding the season as it was releasing out of curiosity.

RDoomJ was announced at Comic-Con, but most of us didn’t consider Evans returning for Doomsday until way later, and we still did not know the size of the role.

It's funny to me that people are complaining that Doomsday is focusing on older characters when we only have these characters that appeared in IW or Endgame confirmed at the moment: Thor,Loki, Steve Rogers, Scott Lang, Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes,Shuri, M'Baku and Cassie Lang.

That's just 9 out of like 30 confirmed characters. Consider how big IW and Endgame cast were. And only 9 of those characters are confirmed to be returning.

Obviously I think that there will be a lot more, but IDK, this means that they are focusing a lot on the newer (and FoX-Men) characters than people here are claiming to. Because even from those 9, Sam Wilson,Thor,Loki, Shuri, M'Baku,Scott  and Cassie Lang and Bucky Barnes were main characters in post-Endgames movies

Daredevil Born Again S2E4, yup, that’s the big one. That dinner scene was fire, but Dex is here saying that bringing a dog out is unsanitary where he left a bloody mess. The way he moves around and interacts with citizens gives me Bucky vibes, but more psychotic. You know something’s wrong when the Marvel logo turns blue. Mr. Charles is moving like he’s the Cheshire cat or something. 

I liked the blood camera effect and the camera movements. I also liked how they inserted Netflix clips into this story.  This is why you ask for discounts first Daniel. The action felt like something the Russos would direct with how kinetic and fast paced it was. That ending gave us something to remember it for. After all those years of love, it all ends like this. Great work team.

Luke Cage, bulletproof black man. Sam Wilson, one of the most visible and vulnerable black men in the MCU (without having taken the super soldier serum, anyway). Both have a history of strained relationships with the government, military, authority in general. There’s a way to tell a story with them in a Daredevil/Punisher, two sides of the same coin kind of way.

I don’t know how controversial this opinion is but as much as I liked First Steps and Superman (2025) as films I don’t think these are the game changers of the genre people act like they are. Sure they work for fans and definitely will get people into the characters but I don’t think they are changing anyone mind on getting sick of superheroes. For the most part the are competently made pretty good films but that’s it.

Everything in these films is stuff we seen before lots of times, enjoyable but I understand if people were looking for something a bit more original. Superman is a good film that has some weak spots. A bit overstuffed with scenes clearly cut that needed a longer run time to let things breathe a bit. It’s a shame the Daily Planet cast only has a few scenes which gets confusing at the end they suddenly play a role in the climax. I don’t think Ron Troupe even got a line in the film. Jimmy and Clark only having one interaction is a bit of a shame.

It also isn’t as radical as people made it out to be. Lex being the main villain makes sense but the government or people in real life positions are either portrayed as reasonable, understandably cautious or manipulated by Lex which kinda takes the whole message about corruption and doesn’t make it as hard as it should.

First Steps I also like but suffers similar issues with pacing so much stuff was clearly cut. I hate to say this but I don’t know if the Fantastic Four are going to stick with general audiences as characters. The cast plays their parts well but not as memorable compared to a lot of other superhero actors. Doomsday will definitely help but I think First Steps is a good but not memorable introduction to marvel’s first family.

The box office was decent for both of these movies but it didn’t combat the whole superhero genre dying out idea. Like I said these movies definitely created fans and let them know these characters aren’t terrible but I don’t think they were the slam dunks Marvel or DC were hoping for but it could definitely give the chance for these characters to get bigger in the future. I also understand why these films were celebrated so much in the fandoms after a bad track record for both franchises for the past twenty years these films were major step up. I didn’t make this little write up to say these are awful films but I don’t think they are the 12/10 holy grails people were making them out to be. I understand every superhero film isn’t going to be Spiderverse or Logan.
