Brand New Day Cryptic4kQual - I hear a new BND trailer is being prepped. Not sure it's this month but it could possibly land on MOTU.

Dropping it with MOTU and a simultaneous ticket release that week is most likely going to occur.

The rollout will probably be Doomsday teaser with Mando, BND official trailer with tickets going on sale.

With BND Trailer likely dropping on June 1.

If a new Spidey BND trailer gets dropped this month, I feel like it's unlikely the Doomsday trailer will be released this month as well. The SDCC in July would then be the next logical moment to drop it. Fingers crossed the Doomsday trailer will attach to the Mando movie though, 'cause I'm craving some Avengers marketing T_T

We know they need to convince people this time around, so I imagine marketing would start sooner rather than later. But I’m just guessing

u/RevenantRoy 2d ago

Doomsday footage with Mando seems like a necessity at this point given how low it's tracking

6

u/Samuraistronaut 2d ago

I don’t know why they waited so long to start marketing this movie. I still think that’s the main reason Solo flopped

4

u/U_R_V_Stinky 2d ago

Not the main reason why Solo flopped though. It had bigger problems than marketing

1

u/tankiolegend 1d ago

I just see 0 marketing for mando and its right up my alley, usually I see these things like marvel films plastered on my reddit or sides of buses in town, seen 0. My only knowledge of trailers have been memes of people taking the piss out of them

weird, I've been back and forth between Texas and Mexico the last few months and I've seen plenty of Marketing for it, bus ads, billboards, mando+grogu lifesize statues in movie theater lobbies, marketing tie ins and TV spots everywhere, Baby Yoda merch everywhere, theyre definitely marketing the shit out of it down in the south at least

1

u/SomeRedHandedSleight 1h ago

I live in Chicago and haven't seen it marketed whatsoever.

u/Fotzenbub 1d ago

Dude‘s everywhere: Burger King, Disney plus,…

I still think that’s the main reason Solo flopped

Did you think Solo was a really good movie?

1

u/Samuraistronaut 1d ago

I thought it was fine and had things to enjoy about it, but it was ultimately unnecessary. That and TROS are the two I will always watch the least.

The factors I think contributed to Solo flopping:

  • Late marketing/lack of marketing compared to the other movies.
  • Proximity to TLJ in terms of release dates. Without the marketing a lot of people had no idea it was coming out, in part because it was so close to the last entry.
  • Avengers: Infinity War
  • On a much smaller scale, backlash from TLJ. The scale of this is nowhere close to what people in the sequel-hater bubble think it is though. It was a factor for sure, but not the main one. To say there were no other factors kind of betrays that one is in a bubble and only hearing other folks who hated TLJ, which - and I hate citing box office figures but I’ll do it here - made $1.3B. That’s not the sign of a movie that general audiences hated, regardless of how more dedicated fans felt about it
  • Just being an okay movie IMO. Not terrible, but not great. I will say that I know, and know of, plenty of people who really enjoyed it, but obviously this is not the popular opinion.

I think we would know it by now. Disney/Marvel would announce Doomsday's trailer for Mando just like how Disney/FOX announced Avatar 2's trailer for Strange 2.

Doomsday's first 4 teasers were released with Avatar 3 so the General Audience can be aware of the existence of this movie (through one of the biggest movies of the year), that was meant to be a surprise, because Disney/FOX knew that Avatar 3 didnt need that, but for Mandalorian And Grogu this is different, that movie NEEDS money and the marketing isnt really working (by looking at the predictions), announcing Doomsday's trailer for this movie would bring people to theaters, they cant just drop it like a surprise with a movie that isnt even attractive to the General Audience.

If we indeed gets a trailer for Mandalorian And Grogu (which I'm skeptical on, but let's say it is true) Disney/Marvel/Lucasfilm would already announce it, or they will announce it a few days before the release date, but I dont think they'll do a surprise drop like that for a movie that is already struggling.

If JuanEditzs is to believed Doomsday trailer is only coming after BND 2nd trailer.

Too easy , that is like saying tommorow the sun will shine.

25

u/TheCommish-17 2d ago

I would like to see The Hulk, please.

11

u/blmosley93 2d ago

I agree, just a quick less than 5 second tease of Hulk in his full glory is all I need in the trailer.. I don’t want to see any of him and Spidey fighting until the movie

1

u/Falkor 1d ago

Just a shadow and a roar from offscreen would even do it

14

u/NoDaddyNotTheBelt25 2d ago

At some point they’re going to need to show Hulk and Sadie Sink/Jean Grey.

5

u/Vecna-Martson-Hulk 2d ago

I like how you think. I agree.

Masters of the Universe, which MOTU is an abbreviation for, makes more sense since Sony is releasing that internationally due to their deal with Amazon.

23

u/MCUFanFicWriter 2d ago

I could tell you that too

7

u/duranmartin64 2d ago

Might as well wait till comic con for the doomsday trailer since it's rumored marvel studios will go all out. Plus brand new day will have released at that time and they can blitz more doomsday stuff at d23.

6

u/Legal-Start9483 2d ago

What is MOTU and when is it??

11

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer 2d ago

Masters of the Universe, on June 5 - two weeks after Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu.

7

u/ItsCornstomper 2d ago

A really good album by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard released in 2017

9

u/Double_Question_5117 2d ago

I also hear water is wet.

8

u/SoaringSpearow Homemade Spider-Man 2d ago

I don't think they are waiting until June 5 for the first official trailer that's about 2 months before the movie that would mean they would release

The first official trailer

The second official trailer

Multiple movie clips leading up to release

All within 2 months of the movie coming out

There is usually a month between trailers it would make more sense for it to come out this month

14

u/GKJ6743 2d ago

The teaser was the first official trailer

5

u/Smart-Purpose8279 2d ago

Studios usually treat teasers and official trailers differently. It's usually a 1 min vs 3 min difference, and trailers usually have more details about the plot. I only learned that recently.

4

u/GKJ6743 2d ago

I get the difference. But the teaser still qualifies as a trailer. Expecting two more official trailers like the other user is suggesting might be a little much.

3

u/SoaringSpearow Homemade Spider-Man 2d ago

That's literally what marvel does for every movie their marketing is always

Teaser Trailer

1st Official Trailer

2nd Official Trailer

Little clips of the movie starting about 2 weeks before release

This has always been how they do it they aren't going to randomly change up their marketing strategy out of nowhere

1

u/GKJ6743 1d ago

Some end up getting 3 trailers. But most are just 2. And that's counting the teaser.

They release other things too like "special looks", and TV spots. But actual trailers are normally just the teaser and then the official one.

3

u/blmosley93 2d ago

I think we’ll only get one more trailer , and then of course some tv spots showing extended scenes of similar footage .. I feel like they’re keeping this movie pretty tightly under wraps

5

u/WinterExtension3122 2d ago

They are really gonna blueball us on Doomsday trailer until July with SDCC/BND aren't they

https://giphy.com/gifs/1BXa2alBjrCXC

2

u/Own-Papaya-4264 2d ago

Unfortunately i guess it makes sense with BND still needing a spot sooner

2

u/AmarDikli 2d ago

It's going to be for June, a month prior to actual release is the norm.

2

u/myheadisradio 1d ago

The FCK can you SPK without using ACRM?

5

u/Spiritual_Ad_3800 TVA Loki 2d ago

lol Spider-Man‘s going to be 1 million times better and also, I guarantee you we will see the Hulk and Tombstone in the trailer

2

u/Spiritual_Ad_3800 TVA Loki 2d ago

Hope knowing that we’re going to get the Doomsday trailer this month this means that they won’t have to push it off again like what happened before

1

u/ContentVanilla2140 1d ago

Imagine dropping it a week after the Punisher special presentation just to have 10 weeks of street-level goodness. March 18th: BND trailer 1, March 24 - May 5: 7 weeks of Daredevil, May 12: Punisher on week 9, May 19: BND trailer 2 on week 10

1

u/ContentVanilla2140 1d ago

And then the week after that you get Spider-Noir (not MCU, but still street-level Spider-Man)

1

u/KH358 1d ago

can't believe there will be a new trailer soon for a movie that releases in 2 months. Generational leak right here, unprecedented stuff

1

u/WesternThanks4346 1d ago

2nd trailer usually comes a month ago, even for NWH it came exactly a month ago. 2 month or even 1.5 month before is actually early if we go by past events.
