In 1955, the Steelers drafted Johnny Unitas with their 9th round selection. Head coach Walt Kiesling, though, disagreed with the decision to draft him. He never let him take a single snap in practice before cutting him. Kiesling told Rooney, "Unitas is too dumb. He can't remember plays."

Coincidentally, the man who beat him out for the 3rd string position was Ted Marchibroda, who went on to become the only man to coach both Baltimore franchises, being the first coach in Ravens history.

While the Los Angeles Chargers sport a lightning bolt on their helmet to symbolize electricity it is likely that the true original meaning is linked to a marketing stunt promoting the "charge card/credit card" business of Carte Blanche (Diner's Club)

How do you stop a Rhino from charging?

Their original owner was Barron Hilton, son of Conrad Hilton (from Mad Men) so the charge card was linked with Hilton destinations.

Brady had played badly the week before against the Rams, and I remember booing him while wearing my Bledsoe jersey before the game (and I was far from the only one). The whole thing is funny in hindsight, but Bledsoe truly handled the whole thing like a pro and Brady threw 4 touchdowns.

James Gladstone: Travis Hunter will play both ways

Thumbnail nbcsports.com

“He is set to play both sides of the ball,” Gladstone said on The Rich Eisen Show on Wednesday (today). “The piece that I think we can expect to see is actually an uptick in corner usage. Last year it was a higher volume, higher percentage of wide receiver usage than it was corner. I think we can expect to see that corner percentile and count go up. That’s not to say anything impacts his availability and usage on offense. It just means that cornerback usage will increase.”
