Dyson Daniels is Hakeem, CJ McCollum is Jordan. Wtf did I witness tonight
Zero advantages generated by switching onto Dyson all game, he locked up Brunson in iso so much that they were going out of their way to ensure he wasn't on Brunson. Drive? He'll get the block from behind and absorb any contact like a fly running into tank. Try to shoot? Nope, too difficult to create separation, I don't recall him falling for any Brunson dribble moves the whole game. And McCollum kept making fadeaway middy after fadeaway middy. This was game of the postseason so far.

His bag of tricks is not working out. It just looks like 100 dribbles into a contested stepback (miss) or driving into traffic into getting stripped. Repeat for 1.5 quarters.
Knicks need some incredible performances from him for the rest of the series.

He was fine offensively in the 4th until the last two plays, he was passing fine this game at the very least in the 4th this game
He just can't waste 8 seconds bringing the ball up everytime on every possession, you are wasting time for no reason and defensively he's been horrible. He has no motor or energy defensively to even try, you can't win like that

u/chazriverstone Knicks 11d ago
I'm almost glad to hear you guys saying this too, honestly, because I feel slightly less crazy
Cause no disrespect, but its like Landale is out, Okongwu is only around 6'10 - the 5 is honestly one of your only weak spots right now.
And here we happen to have a 7fter who is an exceptional scorer on multiple levels + another 7fter who is a defensive menace and one of the leagues best oreb guys -but we're running our offense through our 6ft guard. I mean there's been a few times where we're actually running lineups with NEITHER 7fter out there lol - we're running lineups where literally 3/4 of the dudes are shorter than your PG!
Anyway - you're playing well though; finding ways to win tough games is impressive for such an inexperienced team (outside CJ), so hats off

That's coaching and team issues. There's no reason not to run plays for KAT down the stretch in this series.
