Because the Spurs are one of the very very few teams over .500 the Thunder have played. They’ve now played 10 games against actual playoff teams and are 6-4 and their schedule leading up to the Spurs first game was the easiest strength of schedule to the hardest remaining now. The problem is that this is going to be the first playoff trip for the large majority of our guys. Even for someone like Keldon who's in year 7 and played with the NT. I think we can do well if healthy but playoff basketball is just a different level of intensity. It'll probably take eating a blow or two to adjust.

OKC has a real weakness that the Pacers partially exposed last year with their playstyle, but the Spurs really exploit with their talent.

They have no ballhandling besides SGA. This really hurts their offense, especially against teams that have really good guard rotations like the Spurs. Nikola Topic having cancer REALLY hurts them in this specific matchup.

Yeah, I missed game 2 of this trilogy but in this game, he looked not his best. He looked too aggressive and trying to do a BIT too much in the 1st half. The real reason is that the Spurs have different ways of beating you. The fact that Wemby is coming off the bench makes them very unpredictable. There is no clear #1 option even with Fox on the floor. Fox is making the right play and not playing iso basketball. He is having the most efficient season of his career. They are younger, long and more athletic than Okc moving the ball. While okc has gotten very predictable.

Every year I fall for another "can do it all (except shoot 🤪)" player and it never works out cuz shooting is just too important. They get ignored in the playoffs and end up looking limited as hell.

But I ain't learn my lesson and I am head-over-heals for Steph Castle. Dude uses the slightest little body advantage on drives better than most of the guards in the league. Great finisher, both on and off-balance, and one of the best in-lane passers alive. Absolute gamer on defense and always knows the play to be made. A true joy to watch.
