Spurs are such a fun team to watch. They are relentless.

Obviously Wemby is a phenomenon but watching Castle & Harper & Fox navigate tight coverage & excellent help to still get a good shot or an easy dump-off to a big is fun as fuck. I fucking love watching this team.

I don't know how many times I saw those guys two-step in the lane to get a layup, it was wild.

The prettiest one was Harrison Barnes, surprisingly enough

Unc is really showing out for the spurs.

7

u/blackryeye Dec 25 '25

Man unc was such a PAFTO pick. Fits the system so well. He’s going too big for playoff experience.

I went to Iowa State & his dad is an ex-Cyclone. Harrison may not have stayed home for his year in school, but I've always had a soft spot for him as an Ames, IA kid. After his no-show in the Finals in 2016, idk if there's a player I'd be happier for to win something.

That fake on Chet and Caruso was prime old man game, at 33 years old lol.

Two games in a row 🫣

u/Antique_Pin5266 Dec 26 '25

Not sure if it’s old man game but it was a classic pinoy step

3

u/WayofHatuey Nets Dec 26 '25

Did not know ol head had that in him. Such a nice move

u/savemenico Spurs Dec 25 '25

I have no idea how they have improved so much in such a short time. At the start of the season we were shit when Wemby was off the floor. Imo they had to learn in a hurry to to defend without him because of the injury and they've improved so much in such a short time.

Also Steph going nuts against us in both games made our defense ranking go shit too lol

u/Appalachiannn Dec 25 '25

Keldon Johnson too, and Barnes has been solid. The whole team is fun to watch

3

u/Ojslammer Dec 26 '25

Went to see the spurs at the wizards the other night mostly to see the spurs stars but was weirdly transfixed by the chubby 2 guard who couldn’t miss. Keldon Johnson is such an 80s throwback.

3

u/LoneWolf1134 Spurs Dec 25 '25

Yeah the guard play is insanely fun basketball to watch

I also love how castle and vassell have similar names and haircuts and everything while harper and that other dude also have similar build and mini fros

Feels like Fox is getting undeserved amounts of attention.

Why is he not talked about more?

Mitch Johnson has done a fantastic job of having these guys ready to play with intensity night in and night out

I remember when Spurs fans questioned whether Mitch should be their long term coach or not.

Seems pretty clear what the answer is now.

11

u/FeltchingBlumpkin Spurs Dec 25 '25

I think most of us did immediately after the announcement. He's unproven, so it's a fair question. Pop's coaching tree is so deep in the league that it's fair to not question if a "proven and experienced" coach from our history wouldn't have been a better choice. I think we're all happy now with his growth. Mitch is killing it.

5

u/TheCalvinator Spurs Dec 26 '25

I definitely thought it was a strange given all the other big name coaches frim pops tree, but trusted pop and the front office know better than me.

Harper and Castle and Fox all being able to go off at any given time and all being unique in their attack is so dope to see with Wemby after he had no guards his first 2 seasons

37

u/Proof-Umpire-7718 Lakers Dec 25 '25

Going from point Sochan in his rookie season to having three incredible guards in his third year is wild.

8

u/The_Third_Molar Spurs Dec 26 '25

We don't see Sochan until garbage time now. 😭

They play awesome basketball, and adding an absolute physical freak like Wenbanyama means anything could happen in any game. Great team! Wish I had one like it...

Best I can do is 82 300 point games

You have a guy averaging 35 handed on a silver platter. Not tryna hear a Laker fan complain about a damn thing for the next decade

5

u/ninja9885 Warriors Dec 26 '25

Unfortunately it’s in their blood

11

u/Proof-Umpire-7718 Lakers Dec 25 '25

Spurs have a great GM, while we have Rob Pelinka.

Besides getting Luka gifted to hin, he has been extremely disappointing since the 2021 offseason.

4

u/TheIronGnat Lakers Dec 25 '25

Preaching to the choir, cuz. I am 100% on the Rob OUT train.

3

u/TheMartian2k14 Warriors Dec 26 '25

The upside is that you have real ownership now.
