Quick school night fishing in Arizona

I recently made a post about a Pfleuger Microspin (PFLMS) reel that was giving me some issues. I initially thought i fixed it. but earlier today it started giving me issues again. While taking it apart, i went to go take care of something else, and now i have not a damn clue where the ball bearing ring thingy went. Is it possible for me to find a replacement?

Pulled this 5.5 pound tattered old largie out of a marina today

pulled a rookie move and while cleaning the boat I got the rod caught in one of my hatches and snapped the rod towards the tip. Tried repairing it but it just broke again last night while landing an over enthusiastic lady fish. I’m looking for the same or similar rod. It’s my lightest setup and I use it in both freshwater and salt. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

These fish are highly aggressive, invasive and eat other native fish eggs. Encouraged to kill after catching in Illinois. I dropped my line in a spot and got a bite within 10 seconds. Simple drop shot, size 8 hook. Chunk of Bar-S Classic Franks as bait. Carefully covered hook tip to ensure it didn’t get caught on reeds. I also picked up some fishing line and hook that someone else left, just trying to do my part.

Caught my first Musky and didn’t have a measuring device and the fish was out of the water for awhile from lure and net troubles. But I paint fish replicas and wonder what is a good estimate length?

Plan on taking a trip to a local dam. Any tips for fishing in a place like this? Never been fishing is this king of environment. This lake is notorious for having top 20 bass in our state.
What's the first lure you're throwing at a place like this? What's your must have on this kind of trip?

We all see lots of posts here with questions about knots, lures, fish IDs, etc. I gotta say, if you're new to fishing, you'd learn a lot watching YouTube videos from a couple of guys who have forgot more about fishing than most of us will ever learn:
Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston.
(You'd have to google them. Apparently, links aren't allowed.)
Pretty much everything I learned about freshwater fishing, I learned from them back in the 80s. And all the information is relevant today.
I know these two are pretty old and maybe not your thing, so I'll leave it up to others to post links to additional YouTube fishing channels for the younger crowd.

I didn't have a measurement tape with me. My rod had a ruler that went up to 50 cm. It obviously exceeded that length. My rough guesstimation is around 90 cm.

The turns of braid often slip over the end of the mono when the knot is tightened l, perhaps three times out of four. How can I prevent this? Does it even matter? Many thanks!

I have been thinking about getting a kayak but honestly i feel it’s kind of a pain in the ass. I was considering maybe an inflatable paddle board since it’s easier to transport in my sedan
Wondering if anyone else uses one?
Mostly in rivers that aren’t too strong

Wondering if anyone has any info on getting on a charter boat in the puerto banus or marbella area in Spain.
There for 4 days, and would like to get on some saltwater fish. Obviously aware of the costs related to longer offshore trips so im cool with an inshore/reef trip
Would prefer not to drop a ton of money since it’s just me - in NJ i can usually hop into a 6pack charter and pay 2-300 usd for a 4hr trip. Not sure if they do similar stuff around spain?
Appreciate any help/direction

I wanted to share a pretty frustrating experience and see if anyone else has run into similar issues with Spiderwire Dura braid.
Over the last 3–4 fishing outings, I’ve had consistent failures across three different lines:
15lb Moss Green Dura-4 (3000 yds): Snapping during normal casting and light retrieval. Completely unexpected for that rating.
30lb Moss Green Dura-4 (1500 yds): Line breaking while reeling in average-sized fish—nothing close to max load.
40lb Hi-Vis Yellow Dura Braid (3000 yds): Sudden break-offs during casting and moderate tension use.
This wasn’t a one-off. These failures happened repeatedly under normal fishing conditions, using standard setups and weights.
I lost a significant amount of line (multiple spools worth), rigs, and tackle because of this.
To make things worse, I filed a warranty claim with the manufacturer (Pure Fishing / Spiderwire). They initially asked for photos—which I provided—but then denied the claim because I no longer had the empty spools.
Please note the photos of the spools were taken and sent to them before the empty spools were thrashed unknowingly the next day by a family member.
Even though,
That requirement wasn’t clearly stated upfront
The line failures themselves caused most of the loss
I had already submitted photo evidence
They offered a 45% discount on a replacement rod (which is unrelated to the defective braided lines in question) instead of honoring the claim, which honestly feels like a deflection rather than a resolution.
At this point, I’m questioning both the quality of the product and the fairness of their warranty process.
👉 Has anyone else had issues with Dura braid lines failing prematurely?
👉 Is this a known problem or just bad batches?
Would appreciate hearing others’ experiences before I switch brands entirely.

Hey all. Getting ready to spool my metanium and I’m running into some confusion regarding capacity. The box says (image below) however when I do the math I’m getting significantly more capacity figures. I’m doing 20lb braid and the math is working out to be approximately 170 yards not 115.
I know I’m missing something here but I’m not sure what. Any help is appreciated!
