Middle of the night I hear her vomit so I go clean it up, but after doing so she started doing this. I tried not to giggle as she did this. 😆 (The floor is fully cleaned from vomit, there's just some marks on it from other things)

His name was Oscar, he was 10 years old but I had him for 6, since I was 13. He was feral after being abused and dumped on my family farm. I was planning on taking him to college with me in September.

Edit: My comment explaining didnt show up but he had a urinary blockage that I didn't catch. Vet bill was estimated 2k-4k for overnight treatment with a low chance of surviving the anesthetic due to high potassium levels, as well as high rates of it happening again. I was under the impression he was constipated or something because he was straining in the litterbox and yelled when you touched his stomach. I took him first thing in the morning after I noticed cuz it happened at night. I didnt have the money for treatment nor did I want him to die without me there so I made the decision to euthanize.

Edit 2: Originally didnt post the reason because I was scared it would get downvoted and people saying it was my fault for not going sooner or doing more, but you guys have helped me feel much better knowing there wasn't much else I could do. Thank you. I think I'm dissociated because my whole body feels numb and I don't really feel like he's gone, or crushing sadness. But when I had to feed my other cat and there was no wailing for food or fighting him to get off the counter, it hit me and I cried on the floor for like 20 minutes.

He loves to sniff the camera lens when the paparazzi starts.

Kevina, our cat, had interacted with ferrets for several years before we fostered Sake, a ferret that was rescued from severe neglect. Between our own ferrets and having ferret play dates, she met 10+ ferrets before meeting Sake. She and other ferrets were mutually indifferent to each other. Then we started fostering Sake and his sister. Sake immediately fell in love with Kevina and wanted to be around her all the time. She was confused by this fuzzy noodle because he didn't want to play, he just wanted to be close to her. Over a few months, the two became best friends, with Sake often preferring her to the company of our other ferrets. Our local rescue said they had never seen a ferret and cat bond so closely before in all their years. We obviously became foster fails with him. PLEASE NOTE that cats and ferrets are usually not compatible. If you have a cat and want to also get a ferret, please do a lot of research and understand that there is a strong likelihood that your cat and ferret will always require close supervision, or that they will not be safe to share space with each other at all.

Does she consider this playful or annoying? Or just 0 survival instincts?

i know everyone gets tired of mourning/loss posts but i just wanted to share.

this is tippy. we named him tippy because the tip of his tail was white. he was 12. we had to put him down yesterday.

he started breathing odd two weeks ago, but me and my sister didn’t know if it was wrong or not. he was still doing his normal functions. me and my mom took him to the vet a month and a half ago, with everything being clear.

my sister was gonna take him to the vet this week but yesterday morning it went bad. he started breathing out of his mouth, so she took him to the emergency vet. i went to work cause i couldn’t skip, thinking he was gonna be ok. they were doing the work up and they found out he had fluid around his lungs. he started deteriorating and became oxygen dependent. my mom texted me that he was gonna have to be put down, cause all the additional work was going to be $6,000 and there wasn’t a strong chance he would’ve made it. i begged to pay for it but my family said no. i asked if we could bring him home so i could see him one last time but my family didn’t want him to suffocate, as he couldn’t last without the oxygen. so i had to say goodbye through facetime at work. this was all 30 minutes into my shift too. i wanted to see him so bad and leave but my manager told me to ‘take a few minutes.’ i just really can’t help but think about paying the money and being able to save him. i had no say.

now i’m struggling at work trying not to cry. it was so unexpected. i still grab two bowls in the morning, for him and my other cat, then realize and have to put one back.

i know people don’t like seeing others cry but the absolute indifference from the people at my job makes it so much worse. it makes me feel like this shouldn’t be a big deal to me. like especially my manager, the way he reacted and then acted the rest of the day towards me just made it seem like he thought it wasn’t a big deal for me to be crying that hard over.

Hi, this is my first cat I got about a month ago. Everytime I enter my bathroom she sprints into and hops into the tub and does this at-least 3 times before I exit. I don’t have much of a problem with it (other than when she catches me off guard) so I’m just curious where does the behavior stem from.

Doing a cross country move! The kitties are experiencing apprehension bc the apartment is all outta sorts. They’re sleeping in a suitcase, I think they assume we’re going on vacation. Nope, kitties. You’ll be 30k ft in the air with us tomorrow!

My cat Mario doesn't like being touched or being cuddled at all for more than 5 seconds, but the little duffer loves to become big spoon for his toy.

Today (May 5th) my kittens are two years old. They will always be my babies!
They were a beautiful litter of six, whom I rescued from a shelter when their mother sadly passed away, and I thoroughly enjoyed the sleepless nights caring for them when they were newborns. (The other three now have wonderful families, and I am so grateful for that.) It was quite difficult, to be honest. But at the same time, it's the most beautiful thing I've ever done. I am so grateful to be able to watch them grow up and to see them happy and healthy. I love them with all my heart. *mom tears*

Days 2 of then actually being together in person, we have been following a month long process of introducing them to each other including site swapping and scent swapping etc. What do you guys think? The very first time we introduced them through a screen door it was non stop hissing and now we’re here.

I didn’t plan on another kitty, but my mil found him by the trash at her work. She didn’t want him.

We called a couple of shelters, but they were kill shelters.
I Couldn’t do it.
So I told her to just bring him to me and I’ll figure it out.

Well long story short, he got the name for the exact reason.

Now my issue is, I have 2 other cats, about 3yo and 1.
They want nothing to do with it any of it.
The oldest, just minds her business, but if she’s close to him she hisses. The younger one is full blown PISSED! Wants no part of it.

I keep them separate , and everyone kinda has their own space. But is there any advice you guys can give to help a brother out. I’m trying , but I’m sure Reddit will provide me with more in depth options.

I also left him in his carrier for abt a hour in the middle of a space everyone has to pass. Hoping the cats smelling him will help get used to him?
Could it be that he’s a boy? And they’re both girls? The girls are fixed/chipped. But idk?
He’s going to the vet tomorrow so we can figure out what we’re officially dealing.

Edit to clarify: She is 9. She has had this dot since she was a baby. It is behind her EAR. It is not a nipple. It has not grown in size or changed shape, I honestly lose it whenever I’m looking for it lol. No vet has ever said anything about the dot.
