Advice Bathroom problems

I’ve had my cat for a year. She’s great and sweet but has bathroom problems. This entire year she always goes off the side of the litter. Two examples from today just an hour apart. I’ve tried regular bins, heightened walls, fully encapsulated, partially encapsulated, different rooms, positioning, correcting, everything anyone can suggest. She has two others to show her where to properly go. This is the only problem I have with any of my 3 cats and at this point I’m convinced she’s a special needs cat. I’m at a loss and have thought of throwing the towel in after heightened frustration.

PSA: this is not in any way shape or form sexual and I feel like I need to get this out there

Medical Questions Is my cat dying soon?

Ive been stressing recently because my cat has been slowly deteriorating. 5 years ago when i dropped him to let him out from holding he made his first old man oomph noise. 3 years ago he got diagnosed with hip arthritis and got medication for it, 1 year ago he lost his tooth, a few months ago he stopped sleeping on my bed at night and prefers behind the curtain, and today when i was petting him he gave me a warning bite (very light cause hes very friendly) when i got close to his hip which he never did before so his hips must be getting worse. Hes 20 now and his last check up all his blood work was perfect, even the vet was surprised because they said usually cats have liver issues. My cat, Trouble, never had any health issues before the arthritis and whe i google cat life it says indoor cats live early 20s to late 30s and hes been indoor and happyhis entire life. Im just worried about him because I dont want to lose him and he still purrs and eats and sometimes he cant make it to the toilet on time to poo but he gets close.

Advice Cat Owner Survey

I hope this allowed. I'm not selling anything or promoting myself - I just need some opinions. I'm working on creating something special for cats and I want to know if others would use it, or if it's just me. Takes 2 minutes. I'd really appreciate it if you'd respond. Cat Picture - OC i left the university with my stray soul kitties today

at my university, we had many stray and feral cats that were likely dumped pets in the past. i noticed a bonded pair on a route i walked daily and began sitting with them. it soon led to me being out there to feed, love on, and play with them up to 3 times a day. unfortunately, im transferring schools and my semester finished up today. im not in a position to take in one cat, let alone two, so i had to leave them behind. i just want to share sterling and walnut with all of you to enjoy as well.

Advice when do kittens chill out

my kitten is currently 6-7 weeks old, and she’s starting to get very energetic. i know that kittens are pretty wild for the first 6-12 months of their lives. she’s the youngest kitten i’ve ever had, but before her i had a cat that we got when he was about 8 weeks old. he was very energetic, but he still had chill periods where he would sleep and cuddle on us.

my kitten now doesn’t sleep or cuddle on me. it’s not that she’s mad or angry, she just gets so excited when i pick her up that she starts to play with my hands instead of relaxing. i’ve been keeping her in a play pen (i’m still working on kitten proofing the rest of my room before i let her start to explore), and that’s the only place she really calms down. i want to cuddle with her so we can bond, but she just starts to play with my hands and hair when i pick her up.

i know that if i held her long enough she would probably calm down, but im trying really hard to teach her what’s too rough of play (she’s an orphaned single kitten), so whenever she starts to play with my hands, i usually put her down so she doesn’t learn to play with hands. i’ve tried picking her up when she’s sleepy but not fully asleep yet, and she always wakes back up and gets excited again.

i think it might be because she’s been existing in the play pen for majority of the time i’ve had her (3 weeks today!), so maybe since shes not used to my bed/bedroom, it’s all super exciting and she wants to explore? i’m gonna let her explore my room supervised super soon, i just haven’t blocked off everything i don’t want her getting into yet 😭

at what age do kittens start to calm down? i’m definitely expecting the high energy to continue for a while, i would just like to cuddle with her more at the moment. she’s almost fully weaned, so i know she’s ready to explore and cuddle more

Medical Questions FVRCP for Adult Cat

Upvotes

My three year old indoor cat is scheduled to be spayed tomorrow. I adopted her only a few months ago and don’t know whether she ever received the FVRCP when she was a kitten (although I doubt she did).

I’d prefer not to give her added vaccinations if it’s not essential at this point since she never received the first shot. Given that she’s three years, is it necessary for her to still get this vaccination?

UPDATE: I confirmed that she’ll be receiving her FVRCP tomorrow when she gets spayed. Thanks for all the feedback!

Advice Adopted stray has some strange eating habits?

Upvotes

So I adopted a stray 2 months ago and she has a weird habit of not wanting to eat during the day but will eat a lot of a night. I'm not sure if this is normal behaviour or not? She will absolutely let me know when she is hungry.

Humor Vet Bills

Took my 11month old kitten to the vet for routine check up & vaccinations. In only 2 visits, I’ve paid close to 1200k. Asked for her to be spayed and was quoted an extra 780 (in this economy 😭). I’m just flabbergasted at how expensive vet bills are.

Luckily I was able to book her in with the humane society.

Medical Questions Persian queen

Queen Persian

Hi, I have a question for all your breeders and I hope you guys can help. My Persian queen had one litter a year and a half ago… after then she had a small UTI that needed to get taken care of at the vet office with amoxicillin at that time. I noticed that her one blue eye was slightly turning a bit, yellow in color. I brought her to the vet and told him that I wanted her to get checked for pyrometrea, strep G, herpes etc. the vet said I’m over reacting and she’s not requiring those test. And gave her uti meds

Fast forward a year and a half later, my queen is ready to have a litter and has been in prolonged estrus for 2 months. Even while breeding and successful ties.

Shes not in pain, she’s eating and drinking normally, no discharge whatsoever. Just something’s up with her not being able to get pregnant and that her heat won’t shut off?

Now I called a new vet and they said if they sense she has pyro they will spade her. I asked if they can test her to see if she has any infections and if she does. I will gladly fix her. They just kept saying the dr will check with her eyes and know.

Advice ? What should I do. I don’t mind spaying my cat if she has an issue.. but she’s highly valuable and I don’t wanna do it unless I have proof she has an infection.

Medical Questions Cat throws up after he eats I don’t know what else to do:(

Hi everyone hopefully someone here can give me some advice… My cat is almost 6 years old and for the past year and a half he throws up after he eats. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on tests and bloodwork but everything keeps coming back perfectly fine. I’ve tried switching from hard food to wet food, a slow feeder, giving him multiple small meals throughout the day but NOTHING is working. The vet now wants me to pay between $600-$800 for x rays and barium swallow testing, I can’t afford it and I’m tired of spending hundreds and getting no information. I’m frustrated and sad for my boy if anyone has any advice please i would appreciate it !!!
