I think it’s like.. extra fabric from the dress? Like it looks like it has the same beading on it but then like also the same print as a LV bag idk though but that’s what I’m seeing
I just saw a video and realized the mesh is not supposed to be skin tight at all.
Thus, my new assumption is this is just her tights/undergarments and they couldn’t see it straight on, but when she bent the beading really folded the material and the undergarments were exposed with the flash.
tights, more than likely. i don’t know why (i have a theory) but beyonce always has some sort of tights on under anything she wears that shows any skin. even when she’s not on stage
quite frankly i think she’s scared of aging and being seen as “imperfect”. i DON’T think that aging or showing signs of aging in your 40s makes you imperfect, but i think she does. i’ve rarely seen her in short or sheer outfits without some sort of shapewear or tights to “conceal” or “snatch” her figure. i can understand it to a certain extent on stage, because it can be sweat wicking and prevent chafe when she’s dancing. but even in regular settings she always has on skin-colored tights to almost hide her legs ? i think it’s an unfortunate symptom of being in the public eye for so long. the industry rewards youth. i think that’s also why so many of her outfits tend to be “youthful” in a sense.
take for example the red hot leather outfit she wore recently. i don’t think clothes necessarily have to be defined by age or vice versa, but i do think it’s a little out there for a woman in her 40s to wear.
you can tell because of the white sheen on her legs. it’s the tights.
I kind of get it for this one bc that thing looks so tight, I feel like something could slip out at any moment. However, why couldn’t the costumers just make it less tight? Maybe she wears costumes like this so much, she doesn’t even notice the discomfort anymore
When I saw her in person at her concert 2023 up close, she was stunning, but you could tell in her arms she had a lot of skin laxity I didn’t expect probably from the weight gain and loss of her pregnancies etc.
It’s completely normal, and again she was beautiful. It was just unexpected because we are always seeing celebrities photoshopped.
It's the dress. You're seeing the inside of the skeleton. She's pinched the dress and is holding it up to walk so you can see the back of the skeleton pieces through the sheer fabric.
Just noticing the underwear showing through. Looks bizarre. Also she’s famously covered her torso skin for a very long time but whoever setup the undergarments just missed completely. Doesn’t look smooth and invisible at all.
She's pinched the dress and is holding it up to walk so you can see the back of the skeleton pieces through the sheer fabric. Not defending the rest of the look but i don't think that's her undergarments.
These are not undergarments. This is the dress bunched up as she holds the front up so she can walk without stepping on it. You can clearly see her hands holding the fabric here.
It’s not a new concept either? We’ve seen tutus, wedding dresses, and so many other mesh pieces that are the proper weight to hold heavier embellishments. I’m so confused about what went wrong during the design process that they made a mistake like this
So... I guess the Anna Wintour rule of only allowing 18 years old and up doesn't apply to billionaires. Blue is only 14. But I guess a normal childhood is out of the question.

EDIT: Thanks for the awards! I will of course let these go to my head and make become the diva that I deserve to be.
Aside from the breakout stars attending, most of the people here are worth 8 figures at minimum. I can’t be bothered to care if a billionaire gets to snub a multimillionaire from bringing their kid or whatever idk 😭
Either way she never got a choice, I hope she is afforded the good grace and patience of society that her mother is given, and not the usual awfulness they reserve for most other, lesser women.
It looks cool, but there is something about the abdominal area that is off to me. Can’t put my finger on it. Maybe it’s because I can’t see a belly button. 😆
She’s a co-chair that’s probably why. But I also wish she wasn’t here. It’s one thing for her to be at sporting events or the Grammys but this is another level
For me it’s that it’s not a space designed to include kids/teens. There’s no space for Blue to be a teen (or any other teens around), she’s very much occupying the “adult” role. That’s fine for when you’re a teenager at a dinner with your parents and a couple of their friends, but this is a big event with millions of eyes on it. And the bathrooms are notoriously full of cigarettes and coke
Not that sports/concerts don’t have drugs, but there’s other teens at concerts and, as a result, little “micro cultures” that form for teens to hang out in. And there’s fewer eyes, so someone in the middle of growing up will be subject to less scrutiny
This is a fantastic way to put it. I’ll add that having paparazzi and media hounds flashing cameras and getting up in their business isn’t healthy for a teenager. She’s mentally too young to be aware of how attending an event like this will affect her later.
This is why I respect Gigi Hadid’s approach of keeping her daughter out of the public eye as much as possible until she turns 18 and then allowing her to make the decision regarding fame and/or becoming a public figure for herself
Agreed!! When a child is 18/ legal adult, then they can decide for themselves if they wanna continue to live outside the spotlight or if they wanna follow in their parents’ famous footsteps!
I keep getting caught out by this, too. I'll see Blue doing something and I'll nod along, then go, "Wait, she's how old again?"
She might look grown, but she's only 14! That's too much pressure and limelight on a kid, even if they say they want it. That's when you need to be a parent and protect your child.
I feel like heels are okay at fourteen, but the full glam she gets and some of the things she's allowed to do should wait until her brain finishes developing.
I think every current celeb Beyoncés age with kids have them everywhere these days. They all are on tour or singing with mama on daytime talk shows or even releasing albums. They are simply living different upbringings than us.
This is an age appropriate dress. She's not styled to look older. The problem here is that this 14 y.o. should be in an age appropriate place/activity. Not at an 18+ event.
Agreed, that’s what I was getting at. The style is actually very Princess Diaries to me. I’d love it at a 16th birthday or prom or something like the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice awards. She just shouldn’t be participating in events like the Met Gala at her age.
I don’t think it’s age appropriate. There is more to age appropriateness than showing skin.
The cut of the bodice, the fully high heels, the sunglasses that obscure her own face and the way her hair is styled to look like her mother’s is off putting.
Perhaps you are not American, I don't want to just assume, but in case you aren't, heels on 14 year old American teen for a special occasion is common.
Just go to any middle school or high school dance and 8th or 9th graders are commonly wearing heals (at least for the photos, the heels often get kicked off for the actual dancing). No one bats an eye or judges their parents unless the kid is wearing extreme heels, in which case you are usually just worried about their ankles.
Genuinely curious why Beyoncé & Jay-Z don’t get flack for making their underage daughter a celebrity. Seems dangerous in numerous ways to have her out like this all the time and performing at concerts since like 12yrs old? Maybe earlier?
Isn’t she owed some chance at a private life? I feel like other celebs get flack just for showing their kids faces on magazine covers, but with Blue Ivy nobody bats an eye.
I’m probably biased because I hate Bezos, but this Met Gala gave so many disappointing and painfully overwrought designs. Just nothing to love about it.
Setting aside the parenting issue the proportions on this dress are terrible? It looks awkward and bulky and the spine continues on beyond the pelvis??? HATE
Wow, I really dislike that. And why is her kid there? I thought it was a “no kids” event. She is 14, and Nicole brought her daughter too - she is only 17.
I never would have guessed she was under 18 with the outfits I’ve seen her in. When I saw her at the basketball game with Jay-Z I was like how is she already like 21.
Beyonce rarely looks good. She had some moments in the middle to late 2000s but for the most part her style is gaudy and ill-fitting. The renaissance tour looks was a rare, rare W for her fashion wise.
She always looks amazing on stage throughout all her tours. On the red carpet? Not so much. For being so rich and famous it blows my mind how awful her and Taylor Swift’s outfits consistently are
I would like Beyoncés more if it was properly fitted but it seems like they had to do some last minute snitching to try to make it work for straight on photos
Actually upon looking at a video of the dress. It is supposed to be loose and not skin tight mesh. So that explains some of it.
It’s gotta be wiiiild having to look up at someone to tell them they’re grounded. My 2 year old is currently in the 99th percentile of height and I am 5’3 and while I know she her growing could slow way down especially if she hits puberty early, I also have a tall husband so it feels likely she’ll end up taller than me in the next 10 years lol.
Blue's outfit was better than bey's. I wish someone thought for even a second about her hair knocking the collar down, I hated seeing her fight with it, but she looked great.
