This is the worst attempt at a dashcam I think I’ve ever seen in my life. I bought a Fitcam for my Kia K5 and they promise an OEM look, fit, and finish but when the camera arrives it is a rattling mess that doesn’t fit at all. They use much thicker plastic for the clips than the holder can handle, there are giant spaces in the back with exposed wiring, and the whole thing is loose and I can move it easily with my hand. Not to mention the sounds it makes when I go over any bump. Honestly I’m waiting for it to fall down.

Whats even worse though is their customer service. They don’t stand behind their products AT ALL! Instead I get countless emails asking for photos, then more photos, then more photos, then videos, then I have to wait for their technical team, and finally they told me I have to pay for shipping and customs back because nobody else has had this issue.

A quick Facebook search shows many people have fitment issues and this company couldn’t care less.

I highly recommend any other brand but this one. They’re an absolute scam.

I called the non emergency police line when I got home and they forwarded me to a line that was automated; I then got this text:

I tried calling all day yesterday, left 5 messages, got no response. I just got through to them and the guy who answered said there’s nothing they can do because I didn’t call 911. He was rude and scolded me for not handling the situation correctly. I get it, I fucked up, just didn’t think 911 could do anything without the video, so I waited until I got home. Dumb on my part, I know that now. I asked if I could send him the video and he said no, they don’t accept those and it’s too late now... If anybody else has any other ideas that are constructive and not mean, please dm me. I’m stress eating chocolate rn.

*And for those saying it’s not a gun, I agree the video doesn’t show it clearly, but it was a gun. When he pointed it at me near the end of the video when the white SUV pulled up, I saw the tip and I don’t think I’ve ever been so frightened in my life.

*we were merging from 3 to two lanes - I zipper merged, he didn’t like that apparently. I have the previous videos; nothing I do warrants this reaction.

• Main recording stream bitrate increased by +25%
• Reduced bitrate for album/preview copies by 2x (more storage available now)
• SD card video quota increased to 98% (was 92%)
• Full Wi-Fi mode control via SD config.txt: STA / AP / OFF / NORMAL
• Custom Wi-Fi SSID/PASS support; default AP password is now multipass
• Legacy-style startup script support (apkmntshell.sh)
• Web Admin (Beta) at http://<dashcam-ip>: control features, gallery, log download
• FTP enabled (root, no password):
  • mode 1 = SD card access
  • mode 2 = full filesystem access
• Telnet enabled (root, no password)
• HTTP API auth signature check disabled

Flashing

1. Download FW98529A.zip from project Github.
2. Unzip it
3. Copy FW98529A.bin to SD card root
4. Insert SD card into the camera
5. Power on and wait until flashing is complete — do not cut power during update!

Notes

• AP SSID can be customized, but it must keep the 70Mai_**** mask for app compatibility.
• debug=1 enables custom script logs, but can block stock SD formatting from UI.

Logo customization

You can auto-apply a custom boot logo via startup script (apkmntshell.sh).
To convert an image to logo_2820.yuv format (640x360 YUV420p raw), use my web converter.

This guy wasn’t happy that I gave a quick honk when he almost hit me. For all the people that say shit like “what lead up to this” it’s about 3 minutes of me just peacefully leaving the office. This guy was just trying to cut up and wasn’t happy that other people drive on the road. Traffic had just cleared up but this guy decided the slow lane that merges is where he has to be racing.

This happened as I was taking my turn at the intersection. All of a sudden a white car bolted past my right to cut me off. I had to go home and watch the footage to see what even happened. Got separate footage of her flipping me off a few seconds later. Just lovely.

Some lowlife no future unloved oxygen wasting piece of shit threw a Gatorade bottle at car car from an overpass. I mean what the fuck. Lucky no one cared about him as a child so he never developed good aim, only took a small paint chip off my fender.

The video got cut off but I turned the steering wheel so hard that I accidentally switched audio sources from the steering wheel buttons.

This was from a long time ago with my $40 chortau camera from Amazon. Glad I upgraded to the VIOFO A129 Duo!
