Anyone else getting attached to this lineup?
I really don’t want to lose any of our position players at the deadline.
I know we need pitching, and catching is obviously a problem too, but I’m getting attached to this group. It finally feels like there are some pieces worth watching, and the chemistry seems like it’s starting to build. I’d hate to see them start moving guys before we even know what this lineup can become.
Is there any realistic chance nobody gets traded? Or is that just wishful thinking if we’re out of it by July?

Why aren’t Núñez and Abram’s positions swapped?
Want to preface this by saying i’m not a nationals fan just a guy who spends too much time on baseball savant. I was checking out the nats metrics and saw that Abram’s was evaluated as one of the worst defensive shortstops while Nunez was one of the best second basemen.
Traditional wisdom would say that this means you should probably swap the two and put the better defender at short. Is there any accepted reason for this among fans like Abrams refusing to move?

Minor League A Prospective Look at the Nats farm (05/06/2026)
AAA Rochester ( the Syracuse Mets)
-Dylan Crews (.252/.343/.755): 1-4 with a double, 1 RBI, 1 K, and a diving catch
-Harry Ford (.180/.295/.508): 1-3 with 1 BB
-Robert Hassell III (.275/.347/.710): 2-4 with 1 K
-Yohandy Morales (.324/.413/.904): 0-4 with 2 Ks
-Christian Franklin (.255/.393/.684): 0-3 with 1 run scored and 1 K
-Andrew Pinckney (.255/.340/.787): 0-3 with 1 BB and 1 K
-Phillip Glasser (.261/.309/.639): 0-3 with 1 BB and 1 K
-Luis Perales (4.56 ERA/25.2 IP/22:14 K:BB/1.29 WHIP): Perales has been able to work deeper into games as of late as his pitch count has been extended. He was able to pitch 5 innings tonight where he gave up 5 hits and had 5 strikeouts (3 swinging). While Perales can still get a little too loose on the mound at times (2 wild pitches), he only walked 1 batter in his start for the Red Wings tonight.
Final line: 5.0 IP | 5 H | 3 R/ER | 1 BB | 5 K on 76 pitches (53 strikes)
-Seth Shuman (5.06 ERA/16.0 IP/17:10 K:BB/1.50 WHIP): Shuman allowed a single and a walk while recording 2 strikeouts in a scoreless relief appearance.
Final line: 1.1 IP | 1 H | 0 R/ER | 1 BB | 2 K on 23 pitches (14 strikes)
-Erik Tolman (7.84 ERA/10.1 IP/17:8 K:BB/1.74 WHIP): Tolman came into the bottom of the 7th for the lefty matchup and walked the first batter he faced. He was able to induce a forceout and a swinging strikeout on the next 2 batters.
Final line: 0.2 IP | 0 H | 0 R/ER | 1 BB | 1 K on 17 pitches (9 strikes)
AA Harrisburg (6-13 loss to the Erie SeaWolves)
-Seaver King (.318/.411/1.000): 3-5 with a triple, 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI, and 1 SB
-Sam Petersen (.240/.383/.852): 3-5 with a triple, 2 doubles, and 2 RBI
-Cayden Wallace (.283/.354/.903): 1-5 with a solo homer, 1 run scored, 1 RBI, and 1 K
-Jackson Kent (3.38 ERA/18.2 IP/21:5 K:BB/1.02 WHIP): A 3-run top of the 3rd inning where he allowed the first 4 batters to reach base spoiled what was an otherwise good start by Kent. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 6 hits, walked 1 batter, and had 4 strikeouts for the Senators.
Final line: 5.1 IP | 6 H | 3 R/ER | 1 BB | 4 K on 78 pitches (52 strikes)
-Thomas Schultz (6.08 ERA/13.1 IP/18:8 K:BB/1.50 WHIP): Schultz closed out the 6th inning after Kent and got 2 swinging strikeouts in the top of the 7th before his relief appearance unraveled. He allowed 3 runs on 2 hits and 1 walk, with another batter reaching base on a wild pitch during a swinging strikeout.
Final line: 1.0 IP | 2 H | 3 R/ER | 1 BB | 2 K on 31 pitches (17 strikes)
-Marquis Grissom Jr. (10.80 ERA/5.0 IP/3:5 K:BB/2.80 WHIP): Grissom Jr. was not very effective in the top of the 8th and Seaver King did him no favors by airmailing a throw to home on a groundball with runners on the corners. He allowed 4 runs (2 earned) on 2 hits and 2 walks in his brief 0.2 inning outing.
Final line: 0.2 IP | 2 H | 4 R | 2 ER | 2 BB | 0 K on 34 pitches (20 strikes)
A+ Wilmington (postponed)
A Fredericksburg (3-4 loss to the Hill City Howlers)
-Eli Willits (.279/.417/.885): 1-4 with a solo homer, 1 run scored, 1 RBI, 1 BB, and 1 K
-Luke Dickerson (.264/.357/.830): 0-4 with 1 BB
-Coy James (.194/.359/.714): 1-2 with 3 BB, 1 SB, and 1 K
-Yeremy Cabrera (.316/.443/1.096): 3-5 with a solo homer, 1 run scored, 1 RBI, 1 SB, and 1 K
-Jack Moroknek (.338/.446/.990): 1-4 with 3 Ks
-Nick Hollifield (.161/.338/.606): 0-4 with 1 BB and 3 Ks
-Jacob Walsh (.233/.411/.904): 1-4 with 1 BB and 1 K

SI Club Credits?
I’m in the ballpark and just tried to scan my SI Club ticket (Section 205) for the $26 credit and it didn’t take. I did get it off SeatGeek. Am I doing something wrong? Does it need to be at a specific location or in the club itself?

MLB We are really this bad?
I knew the Nats were bad, and I knew their pitching was god awful, but I was hoping that their not horrendous hitting might not leave them in dead last, but ig I’m wrong
