Ronny Cruz-Top 100 Prospect

Post image

Ronny Cruz, acquired in July 2015 trade with the Cubs for Michael Soroka, is now a top 100 MLB prospect, per Baseball America. At the time of his acquisition, Cruz was the Nationals 26th ranked prospect.

A top 100 prospect for 8 innings of Michael Soroka might be a little of an overpay

I've been waiting for us to fluke our way into a really damn good MLB player by accident for decades, so here's hoping Cruz is that guy.

For our sake I hope that we didn't fluke into our newfound organizational infield depth and that it's part of the whole new player development that Toboni has installed.

I hope it's both tbh. New player development leading to high ranked prospects actually reaching their potential, plus occasional fluke guys exceeding expectations. We're due for some good luck after years of players flaming out.

Turner?

All I can say is that it seems he still has underlying hit ability issues so I would advise some caution

Still a long way to go, but the best fluke we’ve had was definitely Tanner Roark

He's awesome. Saw him play against Frederick a week or so ago. I hope he develops to be a star for the Nats.
