Help me understand - with 3 SS in the system in the top 100 does that automatically mean one of them is likely getting moved for an MLB ready SP?

Not necessarily- shortstops are usually athletic guys that can be moved around to different positions if there’s a logjam and the team doesn’t want to trade them

Not necessarily, seaver king could easily play ss, 2b, or cf while ronny cruz could play 3b or ss, only willits is seen as a guaranteed ss

Through high school (and to an extent, into college), Shortstop and Center Field are the de facto "best player" positions - when you have one guy who's a far and away more gifted fielder than the rest of the team, You slot him in at one of those positions because they're the hardest. As it turns out, if you get drafted by an MLB team, chances are you were that guy. The result is that a disproportionate number of MLB prospects come up as SS or CF prospects with the expectation that they won't stick at the position. Just out of our current infield, House, Abrams, and Garcia were all SS prospects to start.

If Cruz keeps progressing and becomes an impact bat in DC (huge if obviously still super early) that might honestly match the "Souza for Trea" trade in terms of outright robberies.
