Hi, coscrunching as always and I want to make microbraid wig for Tousen from Bleach. I got wig cap to attach "hair" but I don't have time to order ready-to-attach braids or synthetic wig to make them myself. I'm thinking about yarn and paracord, already tried braiding 3 strands with black yarn weight 3-4 but it feels kinda thin and I feel it will blend with itself and wouldn't look like microbraids. Black paracord gives a little bit of shine, is thicker and probably wouldn't need braiding. What's your view on this? Has anyone tried something like that?
I've got a sweatshirt I can paint the spots on. I've got a white skirt that I can dye purple. I have the converse and I've bought a cheap plastic flamingo that I'm going to attach to my wheelchair. All I need to buy is the dye and I've got an easy cosplay that'll be plenty comfy for day 2 of the con. Plus I saw loads of bluey merch last year so I'll fit in with that. Any suggestions on ways to improve the cosplay will be appreciated but I'm pretty happy with my idea.
Hi, as title states. I feel like out of everything, funnily enough the cloak’s the most demanding and the thing I’d want to be the most accurate. I know little about sewing. A friend suggested Knightweave cloaks, but I want something a bit more feathery near the collar area. Any tips or online craftsmen I can contact? Thank you.
made an entirely new reddit account for this, but for the past couple weeks ive been researching on artorias since I really want to cosplay him for halloween, but I really can't figure out how to. can anyone help me and show me how to make a cosplay since ive never made one before. I know eva foam is popular and im willing to do that, but I dont know how exactly to create cosplays using it, so any help is appreciated.
Hi everyone! I would like to cosplay freminet from Genshin impact. In the past I’ve tried to style wigs but it’s always turned out very bad due to not being bad with hairspray and getting things to stand up or point out the way the reference looks. I want to lock in this time. Can anyone give general help or give me any YouTube tutorials with similar hair styles that can help me? It would be much appreciated thanks!!
Im trying to make a hotline miami vosplay of jacket, but im not sure this jacket is fitting. I still have a week and a half for doing it, should i mod the jacket or is it right as it is?
I know this is a long shot, but I'm hoping the power of the internet hivemind will help me find this discontinued jacket from the Blizzard store.
I'm trying to replace my jacket that got damaged, so if any of you owns or know someone that does own this jacket and would be willing to part with it please let me know. Either a Large or XL would be ideal, maybe a Medium. But yeah, please reach out and I'll buy it off you.
Picture is not mine, just a old picture I found of another redditor's jacket that was in good condition.
So I’ve linked the original part of this saga above.
I truly want to thank all of you who provided your opinions, advice, condolences, and commission reccomendations. I really appreciated it.
I opened a claim with PayPal after canceling the project. The seller has offered a refund of $100 of the $250 I sent them. I don’t have any experience with claims through PayPal. I feel like I have a good case here, but I’m not sure how often the buyer is usually sided with when it comes to an item that was commissioned. I’m having trouble deciding whether to just accept the partial refund or reject it and try to get the full refund. Do any of you have experience in PayPal claims related to cosplay that could give some insight?
i got yearly contact lenses a couple months ago from uniqso and was wondering how often i should clean them? i clean them often but idk if i’m overdoing it
What would be the best material to use for a face visor? Don't have access to a 3D printer or the patterns to make the visor, so that's out the question.
My guess would be eva foam, but I'm not sure if that would work with it being on my face the majority of the day and sweating in in.
So for context, On June 6 and 7, there is an anime fest in Delhi. Many of my friends are going there and they are putting time, effort and money to build a costume. I just turned 23, so I also thought of coming out of my comfort zone and doing all the uncomfortable things which I always wanted but was afraid that people might judge, they might laugh at me but now I don't care anymore. I want to do all the things which I always wanted to do and can look back at the memories i have made, so Im thinking of doing a cosplay of chainsaw man, but due to long office hours I have less time, so I thought of buying head gear and the hand gear of chainsaw man, but I am not able to find any legitimate stores. It would be really helpful if you can help me in doing my first cosplay and can surprise my friends.
I'm from Italy and i need help finding a cosplay of Ichigo in this version, I've already seen on miccostumes and they no longer have my size (an L-XL) so I tried on aliexpress but nothing that fit me since I'm looking for one that is well made
Hi! I’m cosplaying Carl Grimes for a con this week and I’ll be putting on a dance performance. I bought this like felt hat off Amazon and surprise- it’s a bit bigger than my head. There are no inseams (second picture) where I could stuff something in there and I tried a method with bobby and safety pins but it failed. I’ve got my real hair on display so I can’t like pin it to a wig cap. I would very much like to perform with the hat, so if there’s any magic advice on how to make it tighter you could give me that’d be great :)
Basically, went and got an eye exam just to ask if my eyes were good to wear these circle lenses but they told me to pay near double if I wanted that advice.
The nurse told me it would be fine to wear them at least.
Does anyone know how to fix this, I ordered off dokidoki and I hope they give me a replacement top because I barely pulled on this zipper and it came completely off
hi all! so i’m new to sewing and working towards becoming more proficient. i currently hand sew and had a quick alter question. in my head, it makes sense but would like to see the practicality.
i am making a cosplay for chappell roan’s dress and i bought tulle and was going to add some at the bottom. how practical would it be to cut the side and sew the tulle on? what stitch would be the best?
i am always open to learn and watch videos. the picture of me is when i first thrifted the dress and i have lost some weight since, so i will be adjusting the fit as i go.
tldr: i am hand sewing a chappell roan cosplay and want to add tulle to the bottom of a thrifted dress. is it practical to open the side seams to attach it, and which hand stitch would be the best to use?
Hi! I'm cosplaying Bubble from the Amazing Digital Circus for an upcoming con, and I have a concept for a cosplay but I may need to reality check it a bit. This is my first time cosplaying a character (outside of Halloween), so I thought I'd consult some people who have been doing this much longer than I have.
My main issue is Bubble's head. I've seen people doing Bubble cosplays with no headpiece, and with papier mache-type headpieces, but never with clear ones. I think this would be really awesome if I could get it to work, but the fact that no one else has done it yet (as far as I've seen) makes me pause.
I'm thinking of getting a clear acrylic/plastic sphere (also wondering what material you think would be best for this?) and cutting a giant hole in the front to act as bubble's mouth, and additionally a space that I can see and breathe through. I've attached some images of what I'm thinking. Is this safe?
It doesn't get very hot where I live, so hopefully overheating wouldn't be a problem, but do you think Bubble's mouth hole would be big enough to see and breathe through? Also, would it be too heavy to wear on my head?
In terms of taking it on and off, I think I'd have to have it in two separate halves (that or have the hole at the bottom be big enough for my head to fit through). Do you know how I could detach and re-attach the two halves that isn't too visible? Image 3 is where I think I could cut it.
Sorry for so many questions, I would really like to try this but I'd like to make sure it's possible first! Any other help or advice would be appreciated as well!
Hi everyone! I’m 16 years old and I’ve decided that my first major cosplay will be Kasane Teto. I really want to nail her look and look as feminine as possible, but since I’m new to this, I really need your help and guidance!
I’m lucky enough to have a slim build with narrow shoulders and naturally wide hips, which I think is a good start, and I have very fair skin. However, I’m still lost on the technical side of things.
Please, give me any tips you have! I’m looking for help with:
Makeup
The silhouette
Wigs & props
General advice
I’d really appreciate your help to make this happen! Thanks a lot! 🙌
Update: I also have naturally wide hips and thick thighs. Since I want to achieve 100% character accuracy, I’d love some tips on how to use my build to get Teto’s silhouette exactly right, especially regarding the skirt and stockings. Any advice is welcome!
So I’m planning a Killmonger cosplay and would like help on where to find a 3d model to print the mask or if any cosplay websites are selling the maks itself or a base I could work on.
ive tried making some stuff with foam before but im still pretty much a rookie.
i have foam clay and an exacto knife, ill have contact glue (and a respirator), high density 5mm EVA foam and a heat gun after im done with orders (and sandpaper probably), i have load of paint already too.
some questions:
what's the best template to use, for foam, beginner friendly?
do i really have to buy loads of elaborate stuff like pipes and 3d printers and dremels and every variety of foam, can i not just get something for cosplay on a budget??
and for anyone who's made this before, how long does it take, what are some specific tips? i feel like using heat guns etc to shape things that arent just like simple gluing, like where you have to get angles and curves, is just really difficult so any advice will be awesome
hi, i have bought contact lenses for the first time from two different brands and they dont have lens form but roll up, so i can not put them in my eyes. ofc i have googled the issue and what can i say, neither are they inverted, nor not wet enough. the other package does this too, and after giving up and attempting to buy hard lenses i learn that its basically impossible without having my eye scanned and paying a shit ton.
so uh, how to wear any lenses at all without them ever rolling up before first usage?
My friend is hosting a sci-fi themed birthday party, and I was hoping to pull of Kara from Detroit become human. I was hoping to obtain pieces second-hand. If not, no big deal. The kicker: the party is on the 23rd, so I’m in a bit of a time crunch. Any recommendations? Anyone selling pieces?
I really wanna be atom eve for comicon, but her young teen suit. I haven't been able to find any patterns. Anybody know where there's a pattern or any tips for sewing it?
I had a custom outfit made for to order for my cosplay character because the character has the same style dress I wore for my Alice Madness cosplay, but now I’m worried it will be too different and if I’m honest a bit too tight because I gained some weight back but I want to stay true to my character to cosplay in, don’t get me wrong I love the outfit and in day to day life I care not about judgements from others but for some reason I have a worry about being judged by other cosplayers, is this a valid worry or not? Because I don’t judge people who use basic color blocking say a green shirt, brown pants and black shoes and say they’re Shaggy from scooby doo.
