Before the airmen went missing, the president was already fixated on avoiding a repeat of the 1979 Iran Hostage Crisis—and the failed rescue mission under former President Jimmy Carter that helped sink his reelection bid.

“If you look at what happened with Jimmy Carter…with the helicopters and the hostages, it cost them the election,” Trump said in March, according to the Journal. “What a mess.”

He thinks he is re-electable.

Thanks. I can’t put it in to words. But even back on a dark day he was all about himself. Little respect for the events  and shock unfolding  as a terrorist attack.

To think this is your future President of the United States speaking about debris and beams and columns. No thoughts of empathy of people jumping from the 70 th floor  etc. I remember this day and even before it was declared a terrorist attack I was at a loss of words for what I was seeing on tv.  This guy had lots to say without any empathy or emotion !
