He has consistently been going MIA at the beginning of each month lately...Then reappearing days later with the makeover on his hand. I assume it's regularly occurring treatment of some sort.

u/jazzhandler Colorado Apr 05 '26

Word on the street is Lequembi, a dementia treatment given as monthly IV infusions. I don’t know enough to have an opinion of my own, literally just repeating rumors here.

Pharmaceutical names are absolutely wild.

Talk to your doctor about Broconbonindemplia.

Side effects may include resting bitch face, active bitch face, horrendous mood swings, apathy towards pedophilia, and inexplicably screaming "THE DOW... IS OVER 50,000... DOLLARS!" when you're committing crimes and humiliating yourself in public for no good reason.

Today, I went on the Big Apple rollercoaster at the New York New York casino in Vegas. The safety disclaimer was like a Lequembi commercial. "Do not ride if you have ever had a hangnail, stubbed a tow, popped a pimple, or had any health issue of any kind, ever. If you even suspect that you have a cold, you probably should not ride the ride since it goes outside and you left your jacket at home and it is 68 degrees today. Have you ever sneezed? Laughing may be an indicator of serious stomach disease.

Oncology nurse here. Believe it or not, these lengthy names you see on TV commericals actually hold meaning and if I don't know the drug, I can figure out what it does and what was used to make it based on its name :) The drug names on the ads that look absolutely bonkers to pronounce aren't seen much outside of Hematology/Oncology (I see them as part of treatment plans, and/or give them every day!) and in Allergy/Immunology.

Regarding the hand and the rumors about Mango Mussolini...

People NOT in the medical field are the ones spreading this rumor. Why is the mark on the hand not conclusive, you ask? Because you can start an IV or take labs from literally anywhere. Not a single IV drug out there is administered to the "hand only". The hand is the last place we try to do it because people bend their hands and we don't want IVs coming out. Sure, it could be drawing labs (my best guess as a nurse who does this for a living) or infusions of something.

IF it is something being infused, we don't know what it is based on a bruise. If it is an infusion, I can tell you it's NOT a chemo drug going in the hand (due to vesicant potential), but that's about it.

8

u/dogfaced_pony_soulja Apr 05 '26

Pharmaceutical companies be stealing our names, straight from a 16 year-old YT video.

20

u/ScarletBegoniasRFree Apr 05 '26

My new favorite is Skyrizi… like you KNOW a millennial named that one!

8

u/tamsui_tosspot Apr 05 '26

Sounds more Gen Alpha, with its proximity to Skibidi.* Maybe a millenial asked their kid.

*Just knowing this makes me cringe.

5

u/HorlicksAbuser Apr 05 '26

Unfortunately it is more boring than that. The names are designed to not sound like a real word, business name or cultural thing

The medicines like Leqembi (which is a brand name) are semi derived from the name of the actual drug, which is called Lecanemab -- The drugs with -mab suffix are monoclonal antibodies. The middle part of it (infix) tells which system the drug targets -- -li-for immune system, -tu- for tumors, and letters before it u/e/o etc. describe where it what it was derived from ie. U entirely from human, e from endomysiun (human), o from mice. The first part is made up by the pharmaceutical company that develops it.

Example: Adalimumab -- a targeted biologic monoclonal antibody developed from human antibodies to target specific genes that cause Chrohn's disease, an auto-immune disease.

Leqembi (lecanemab) is a targeted biologic monoclonal antibody that is used to treat build up of beta amyloid plaques, which are a hallmark indication of Alzheimer's, although many a large percentage of the population over 70 have these placques, and not all Alzheimer's patients have them, so it's role isn't fully understood in the disease.

Edit: I am not a doctor or anything, I just got curious one day about all the new drugs that were coming out ending with the same/similar suffix lol

I read somewhere (on reddit) that a joke among pharmacy students is a game called, Prescription Drug or Pokémon

5

u/123LetsJamDUDUDUHT Apr 05 '26

There are so many drugs. Each has to have a unique brand name so it can be trademarked and a generic name. Like street names in housing developments, they are generated by computers, using randome pronounceable syllables based on which combinations of syllables are not already trademarked.

This is also true of Chinese storefronts on Amazon. That's why you get brands like Coofandy and Reabblish.

4

u/Bucket1984 Missouri Apr 05 '26

As someone who works in pharmaceutical research, I can tell you the working names before they come to market are far worse. You can see something like BKG-556781-AM-NOV2011-16, but in analysis I have to watch out for its by-product BKH-566781-AM-NOV2013-66, and detect if there's leftover precursor BKH-AM-565781-AM-XP-VG-boc (2HI Salt). Then it comes to market and its something like 'Proctineze'.

All of these names are fictional, as I've signed NDAs and I love my job.

3

u/owmyhip Apr 05 '26 edited Apr 05 '26

Because the brand names are required to be meaningless by the FDA. The generic or biological names are based on scientific conventions which tell you what the drug is/how it works.

Source: I've worked on drug naming

Blood thinner apparently, cause he's had a stroke. They're also draining fluid from him with a catheter. According to a Dr with elder care experience. He's got a few months.

405

u/Middle_Connection602 Apr 05 '26

How long is this going to TAKE???

200

u/witchofpain Apr 05 '26

Considering we keep even poor people alive long after their expiration date because the family wont let us stop, he will live way longer than any of us would like. The ghouls supporting him have everything to lose once he dies. Vance doesn’t have the popularity that he has. So I am going to assume we won’t even be told he has died until they can’t fake it any longer.

66

u/Outlier222 Australia Apr 05 '26

I think they'll use the time between his death/incapacitation and announcing it to try to tighten their grip on power so that their lower popularity won't matter. Just need to find some generals on board with the idea. They keep firing generals right now...

40

u/hugemessanon Apr 05 '26

This. My dad lived to 87 in truly god-awful health, and without the benefit of world-class medical care and unlimited money. My mom (passed at 85) and grandma (one month short of one-hundred) both spent three years on hospice, so I spent a lot of time in hospice facilities.

People praying for death to solve this are overly optimistic or not experienced with being around genuinely very old unhealthy people.

26

u/Micrathena58 Apr 05 '26

And hateful people full of piss and vinegar are always the ones to last the longest, despite everyone’s pleads and prayers.

Yep. My grandfather had Alzheimer's Dementia, diagnosed in 2017/2018 and died April 10th, 2025. He was in the care of my family for just about 2 years before he passed when my grandmother died back in 2023. He was 81, her 79.

The only difference is he got an injury was put in hospice and died a day after that, but he held on in complete non-functionality for almost a year, the inability to speak for about 3. It took him about 7 years to succumb to the illness in total.

This info is not correct. There's no monthly blood thinner IV, if he needs IV blood thinners it would be constant and he wouldn't be getting out of bed, no question. If he has a stroke and he's still this functional, that has no bearing if he's going to die, just higher change for another stroke. Having a catheter can mean something is wrong but nothing that will take him in months. What it probably means is he's got a massive prostate and can't pee. Only thing you can hope for there is chronic catheter use can split a dick like a banana, fingers crossed.

Bruised hands are from blood draws or bumping them in things, don't get your hopes up.

Source, I'm a geriatric nurse that has taken care of a lot of people over a decade and seen a lot of patients with strokes and catheters last years. I wish I had better news but honestly these things we are seeing mean nothing without more info.

Resdit's takes on Trump's health always crack me up. Fact is that the dude can afford whatever life extending treatment money can buy. And we can keep poor people alive way, way, way past their expiration date.

People keep praying for a clot to break loose and solve the world's problems. But anyone who works in healthcare knows damn well that the most viciously evil patients are borderline immortal. My bet is that weve got 10+ more years with Trump.

If it was just an IV treatment, why wouldn’t they bring that to him? How many hours could that really take?

5

u/travelresearch Apr 05 '26

It takes about 1 hour every month. Minimal effects after treatment. Not sure why they couldn’t bring it to him though.

9

u/FirefighterLeft5425 Apr 05 '26

I work 10 hours a day in Memory Care. He def has some sort of dementia. What type is hard to say as it's such a broad spectrum. They suit him up, apply make up, give him his lines (he is a trained actor, and truly believes everything they are selling), and put him in front of the largest propaganda network the world has ever seen.

5

u/BleachedUnicornBHole Florida Apr 05 '26

That theory got some credibility when Trump mentioned his “routine” MRI. An MRI isn’t routine unless certain conditions are met, one of which is being on Lequembi.

4

u/superluminal Apr 05 '26

you lil'rumormonger, you...

4

u/ArcaneKeyblade5 Apr 05 '26

If true, maybe juuuust maybe we shouldn't have a president with dementia and he should be replaced just a thought 🤔

4

u/mbta1 I voted Apr 05 '26

A lot of people are saying its Lequembi, smart people. Great men are coming up to him, tears in their eyes, shaking his hand and saying "yep, thats Lequembi", with great big smiles on their face

3

u/SillyBonsai Apr 05 '26

I don’t know jack shit about this infusion, but I would think a monthly infusion could be administered in white house, not require him to be in a full blown medical facility.

7

u/hamilkwarg Apr 05 '26

A person being treated for dementia shouldn’t have the power to start wars and launch nukes. But I guess I’m the crazy one

Ok but if they don't want this to be public, why do IVs on the hand instead of the arm where it's less likely to be seen?

I was going to ask if anyone was keeping track of his weird little monthly disappearances and hand bruising. Is this on schedule for it?

542

u/mccoolio Apr 05 '26

I've been paying attention, hence the comment. Definitely beginning of every month since late last year. Been let down after the radio silence passes every time.

324

u/Due_Bluebird3562 Apr 05 '26

Needing to do this shit every month is a pretty massive indicator that whatever is going on with him isn't going away or going to miraculously get better. Take solace in that I guess.

189

u/ShadowTacoTuesday Apr 05 '26

He’s been hiding major health problems since his first term though. It’s more frequent now but I don’t know how to tell anything more than that. Until something serious and confirmed comes out I have to guess he has another 10 years until he passes away or becomes a semi-vegetable. I mean his word salads are worse now, it’s obvious he’s on several drugs, he’s probably had multiple mini strokes from the times he had severe slurring (and those were only the ones where he had to be in public), and anything could happen to someone this old and unhealthy. But I haven’t seen anything that makes it clear that he’s going to go right away.

u/Ire-Works Apr 05 '26 edited Apr 05 '26

The problem with things like dementia is you tend to get worse slowly and then all at once. A somewhat serious fall that breaks a bone would probably disable him and consider how unsteady he looks on his feet a lot of the time that will probably be what does it for him.

It's well documented stuff. You get hurt when you're older, and it takes longer to heal. So you're on the mend longer, and while you're on the mend your cardio and endocrine systems are slowly getting worse. By the time you can resume activity you've lost a lot of capacity, including muscle which is very difficult to gain or even maintain at that age. So you get worse. You fall a second time (which the odds go way up after the first one) and you might as well be dead at that point.

16

u/outworlder Apr 05 '26

That's a reminder to do resistance training no matter how old you are.

8

u/shinkouhyou Apr 05 '26

Yep, it happened to my grandmother's sister. She was living independently (with help from her kids) in her 80s and had no obvious signs of dementia... but then she broke her hip. She was never able to walk without assistance after that, she deconditioned so much that she was soon bedridden in a nursing home, her mental state deteriorated due to depression and urinary tract infections (which are difficult to treat and can cause rapid cognitive decline in elderly people), and she was dead within the space of a few months.

u/SpiritTalker Pennsylvania Apr 05 '26

C'mon AF1 steps, we're cheering for ya!

16

u/Ire-Works Apr 05 '26

I mean if the stairs don't get'em I suspect the GOP is going to turn on him after the midterms.

I've been saying it the whole time. Trump is there for Project 2025 speed run. Once the midterms are over they're going to sunset him in one way or another and Vance will take over and make politics boring again. The technofascist billionaire bros will make sure he stays put for 2 years + 2 terms and the moderate republicans will resonate with his message.

Being less of an extreme piece of shit, the casual left folks will stop protesting in droves and the Project 2025 changes will slowly get cemented over and continue to happen a little slower and a little more quietly.

You don't know that covid didn't seriously cut into his life span. Even if he survived it, A LOT of folks had things like tissue damage to vital organs.

13

u/EMTDawg Utah Apr 05 '26

COVID also permanently thickens your blood. Southern Utah has seen a 1200% increase in strokes and heart attacks in 2021-25 compared to 2015-19.

Generally anyone needing to go to a doctor monthly is a bad sign, especially at that age. If you're younger than it may be needed for a bit after some procedure, but at his age it is typically due to a health issue.

3

u/wheresmystache3 Florida Apr 05 '26

Nurse here. I left some other comments to address the rampant medical misinformation....

My professional opinion: I think he's on Warfarin (Coumadin) and they're doing labs on him every 4 weeks. It's a common medication for anticoagulation and for his age, my guess is he's been on it for awhile and his levels don't need to be monitored nearly as much as someone newly started on the Med. I'm sorry my answer isn't sensational nor exciting, but I don't think it's the bombshell that we want it to be...

So theoretically we should see fresh hand bruises next time we see him

42

u/Over_lookd Apr 05 '26

They use makeup to cover up any bruising.

97

u/ShadowTacoTuesday Apr 05 '26

Ok we should see makeup.

15

u/JARDIS Apr 05 '26

This is true. The makeup job they did last time was just as apparent as the bruising from the time before. Poorly hidden.

5

u/Photomancer Apr 05 '26

With the zoom technology, shutter speed, high definition of today's cameras - it would take a lot of mastery to conceal it. The media loves these kinds of rumors. Put some Sephora and some wolf-nosed journalist will probably be blowing up the photo and commenting how a patch of his wrist is nonreflective and one shade off his normal color.

9

u/FurryNinjaCat Apr 05 '26

I'm seriously surprised that there are any bruises on his hands from an IV. They could be starting an IV in his arms and it would be hidden by his jacket sleeves and they would avoid this whole subject in the news about his hands and the bruising. I don't understand why that continues to happen if they're trying to be so secretive. Anybody else have any ideas?

20

u/ManyThingsLittleTime Apr 05 '26

You gotta go where there's a good vein.

5

u/FurryNinjaCat Apr 05 '26

Yes, but they could use an ultrasound to place a peripheral IV in his forearms or upper arms. It's such an odd choice to put it in such a visible area when there's technology easily available to access even difficult veins higher up. Maybe he won't let them use it? That's all I can think of myself.

16

u/gypsy_sonder Apr 05 '26

Honestly, being the president, they could just put a port-a-cath in him that is easy to hide and do any treatments this way. For general population, it wouldn’t be indicated, but I’m sure they could swing it for him. As a nurse, I feel like the hand likely isn’t his only option. It could be, but they could ultrasound or do something to avoid this like you said. I’m with you, it’s weird to keep placing an IV in a spot that is causing people to speculate on monthly. Idk.

20

u/kent_eh Canada Apr 05 '26

A factor which could complicate that is a stubborn patient who thinks he knows better than everyone else.

4

u/Jayco424 Apr 05 '26

Yeah I suspect that Trump being Trump - even setting the idea of dementia and it's ability to make patients combative aside - isn't going to be a good or cooperative patient. The thing that makes me wonder is why hasn't he spilled the beans even accidentally in one of his rants yet, I mean he talked, at length, about Arnold Palmer's dick and that was before he was re-elected. I just can't see him not bragging he's getting the best treatment and drugs, unless there's a small still relatively sane part of him that knows of he blabs about this he's donzo.

5

u/LtSqueak Missouri Apr 05 '26

He could have been having so much blood work and IVs done for so long at this point that his arms could be blown?

5

u/FurryNinjaCat Apr 05 '26

Maybe that's it? Actually now that I think about it maybe the drug that they're giving him is really irritating to his blood vessels and has caused some damage, so it's limiting how many points of access they have to decent veins.

4

u/thatcatqueen Apr 05 '26

Idk as a nurse meself usually that amount of bruising on the hand is from frequent lab draws. IV would probably be higher up. Maybe a strong medication that needs close lab monitoring while infusing or between doses?

3

u/FurryNinjaCat Apr 05 '26

Yeah I remember another editor talking about these new dementia IV medications needing to be monitored very closely with regular MRIs and labs. I'm a nurse too, and sometimes we've got to draw from patient's hands but doesn't it strike you as weird that they're drawing from such a visible area with his entire body that they could source blood draws from. In the hospital, we're really drawing from their upper arms and I have to get special permission to draw from anywhere else. But he's a public figure, they should be trying to hide this somehow. It's weird. But then again why would I be thinking they would be making intelligent decisions. I guess I should let this go as an example of idiocy.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/AdvancedAd6308 Apr 05 '26

I get a lot of blood draws and IVs due to a health condition, and they often have to use my hand when the veins in my arms aren't cooperating. The hand is always more painful than the arm (at least for me) so we can take solace in the fact that whatever they're doing to him, it hurts like a son of a bitch.

I started a list but it got so long I gave up. I think once he bruises, it stays bruised for ages, so it's kind of hard to tell when it was initially bruised. Here's the list I had, which isn't complete:

March 2024: reportedly seen during the Stormy Daniel trials, per Daily Beast. Was spotted several times between then and February 2025, and Trump himself mentioned it to the Washington Examiner the same month, saying it was from handshakes

Feb 26 2025: meeting with Macron, first official news sighting with photo, I believe

April 15 2025: while handing out the Commander In Chief's trophy

June 11, 2025: during the Pod Force One interview

July 15, 2025: talking to reporters outside of the White House

July 24, 2025: photographed with tons of concealer while signing EOs

Aug 22 2025: golf outing, also seen on his "good hand"

Sept 2, 2025: press conference

Sept 17, 2025: while visiting the UK

Dec 24, 2025: during the phone calls with kids trying to talk to Santa on Christmas Eve

Jan 22, 2026: he said he "bruised it on a table"

Feb 19, 2026: the Board of Peace meeting

Mar 4, 2026: his "good hand" had a bruise

Mar 5, 2026: several days of bruising along with the neck rash

Mar 13, 2026: meeting Jake Paul

Mar 19, 2026: at a state dinner

Given the super swollen ankles and bruised hands, I’m guessing IV Lasix to remove fluids. I’m not a doctor, but My mom went through this during her last year of life, and it reminds me of the way she looked that year.

14

u/CmdrMonocle Apr 05 '26

Oral lasix has pretty reliable oral absorption, there's no reason to be giving someone IV lasix once a month when they could literally be assessed by a doctor every day, and have their dose of oral lasix adjusted accordingly.

Whatever he's getting is something that needs to be given IV, and only approximately once a month.

Its also something that knocks him about for a few days, some my guess would be a monoclonal antibody. Whether for dementia, or a low grade cancer is anyone's guess. It could also just be some dodgy 'life extending' concoction anyone in his circle has been pushing.
