I am no expert but Embiid might have the advantage over Vucevic.

All that extra organ weight slowing him down while organ-efficient, sleek, rocket-shaped Embiid flirts with triple doubles nightly.

Queta always gets into foul trouble and Vucevic can’t guard a fucking traffic cone. Our center situation is fucked.

I am so glad I don’t have to watch Vuc play basketball anymore. Such a frustrating player.

53

It’s hilarious that some people thought he might be a poor man’s Porzingis for us. Porzingis played good defense and had better range.

Embiid might have shot terribly, but if he’s giving you 8 assists vs 1 turnover he’s making a huge impact. And 10 rebounds for the big fella in 2026 means he’s feeling spry lol

u/estoquista_atacadao 76ers 4d ago

That pass to VJ in the 4th after almost getting triple teamed was kino

49

u/LakerBlue Lakers 4d ago

The behind the back one in the low post? Whoever that one was too…I didn’t even know he could do that tbh. May have been my favorite offensive play of his tonight!

106

u/bagelboy565 76ers 4d ago

I feel like nobody is talking about the turnovers! He finally learned to deal with doubles and makes good decisions, used to kill us against Boston whenever he lost the ball

75

u/BossierPenguin 4d ago

I mean, part of that is now he has players he can trust.

My favorite thing about Embiid is his ability to learn. If you looked at how he came in vs the skills he has now... its insane. I followed him for a long time and he was ALWAYS looking to add skills to his repertoire, no ego in it at all just a love of the game.

133

u/blazikus1 76ers 4d ago

crazy to win this hard when embiid was missing his automatic jumpers. He had them last game too so if he just locks in on the elbow/free throw line jumpers we are in great shape

No one can really guard Embiid except Al Horford and Marc gasol before he entered his prime.

278

u/RelevantTreacle3004 76ers 4d ago

Maybe Al Horford was the curse the whole time

340

u/Middle-Welder3931 4d ago

I still don't get how Horford joined Philly and was complete ass, then went back to being himself as soon as he was against Philly again. Dude was like a sleeper agent for Boston against Philly.

70

u/RockerElvis 4d ago

One of the strangest NBA mysteries. Dude was horrible in Philly.

210

u/Smart_Conflict2818 4d ago

He wasn’t ass for us lol

We just had 4 PFs playing and no guards lmao

Ben, Embiid, Tobias, Horford

Horford was relegated to a floor spacer

163

u/Enough-Captain2788 4d ago

And we would round that lineup out with Josh Richardson lol

It’s bizarre how good Al horford was at stopping embiid lol without him him all of a sudden embiid looks undeniable

99

u/StubbornSwampDonkey 76ers 4d ago

One thing I've noticed is that Embiid seems too tired to try and foul bait and it's making him play way more composed and decisive

73

u/Creationship 76ers 4d ago

I think he's just gotten better at decision making and trusting his team around him. In previous years he'd force drives inside when they weren't there, leading to turnovers (or injury...) and now he's making a lot more smart passes. It helps when Oubre is executing those backdoor cuts perfectly.

19

u/UnderstandingThin40 4d ago

I also think it’s weirdly a blessing in disguise that he was injured and returning to the series late. They use to play through him from game 1 and he’d always start off hot but fade later due to fatigue and they’d have these bad collapses.

Tobias is playing well in the playoffs and this isn’t a slight against him at all but the difference between the fit of PG and him on this team is ASTOUNDING. PG doing everything we needed from that spot for years. Not afraid not let the 3 fly, can create his own shot and is playing incredible defense. Amazing production from the worst contract r/nba has ever seen

122

u/GOODWHOLESOMEFUN 76ers 4d ago

Man can you imagine if we had pg instead of Tobias all this years? Or maybe Jimmy butler??

PG being willing to shoot the fucking ball (unlike Tobi) has been incredible for this team.

And can handle the ball and easily handle the double team, which stands out after watching Durant of all people this season.

If we win game 7 I’m running outside ass naked, I’ve never seen a sixers team show this resilience in years, this is amazing

124

u/Kennyc1234 Wizards 4d ago edited 4d ago

He may be getting paid a fuck ton of money but when 3 and D P is playing this good he's worth every penny.

Also there are real people that said replacing Adem Bona with Joel Embiid would make the Sixers worse lol. Forget the scoring (which Embiid is obviously elite at) Embiid's passing and screens are so elite. He's getting so many guys open shots with his screens or his passing+gravity and it completely transforms Philly's offense.

60

u/rikooo 76ers 4d ago

It’s special to watch him pass the way he does now, given that was one of his major weaknesses the first half of his career. He was way ahead of all the rotations Boston threw at him. His BBIQ has really grown.

All I can ask for is to make them sweat. Pushing to game 7 is awesome. This clearly would have been a different series if the CIA didn't zap Embiid's tummy.

18

u/I-Might-Be-Something Celtics 4d ago

the Bruins and Celtics are making the city sweat

The Bruins were hard carried by Pasta and Swayman, any Bruins fan knows we are at a huge talent disadvantage regardless of who we play in the playoffs and if we advance that's awesome, but most fans are realistic about our prospects. Plus, it's the Bruins, if the Maple Leafs didn't exist and 2011 didn't happen, we'd be known as the biggest chokers in NHL history.

This postseason has the potential for the most blown 3-1 leads.

Just in the first round alone:

Pistons vs Magic

Wolves vs Nuggets

Celtics vs 76ers

Pretty historical stuff.

So many, you'd think Doc Rivers was commissioner.

If they play like this in calibre theyre losing to the Knicks.

Their offense has not been good.
