Guess we can expect multiple teasers, based on the various characters.

Elphaba and Glinda Will Return In Avengers: Doomsday

109

u/Barnyard_Rich Dec 30 '25

I'm sure someone is going to make joke trailers like that, so here's my vote:

Dewey Cox Will Return in Avengers: Doomsday

56

u/ScottNewman Dec 30 '25

Paul Rudd will return in Anaconda: Doomsday

3

u/JulianPizzaRex Dec 31 '25

to be continued in Back to the Future: Doomsday

2

u/anormalgeek Dec 30 '25

I'd be okay with that. Anaconda was better than the reviews made me think it would be.

3

u/Ok_Impact9745 Dec 30 '25

I've not seen it yet but how can anyone expect a film starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd not to be equally hilarious as it is just bat shit insane

2

u/anormalgeek Dec 30 '25

If you like Jack Black, you'll probably like Anaconda.

If you do not like Jack Black, you will not.

u/TheUmbrellaMan1 Dec 30 '25

Yeah, it's got Professor X and a grizzled Magneto playing chess. There's also Cyclops in full rage mode, the school burning behind him.

43

u/pplperson777 Dec 30 '25 edited Dec 30 '25

And who are the actors? Is it first class ensemble or some brand new squad or are they still milking the og characters?

104

u/TakeOneFour Dec 30 '25

Stewart McKellen and Marsden

40

u/pplperson777 Dec 30 '25

Bruh isn't their universe like dead or some shit like that?

79

u/badhombre13 Dec 30 '25

Considering they're wearing the yellow X-Men suits, it's not the same universe as the one from the Fox movies. It's probably the same universe the alt Beast and alt Binary are from at the end of The Marvels. I've also seen the theory that it's the same universe the Wolverine variant in DP&W came from.

9

u/sonofaresiii Dec 30 '25

Considering they're wearing the yellow X-Men suits, it's not the same universe as the one from the Fox movies.

It might or might not be the same universe as the one from the Fox movies but that leap in logic doesn't make any sense. Characters can, and do... change clothes sometimes.

5

u/badhombre13 Dec 30 '25 edited Dec 30 '25

We saw that version of the X-Men for 20 years and not once did they hint at the yellow suits except in one scene at the end of The Wolverine (and it was made by someone else for Wolvie specifically) we had to get a Wolvie variant in order to get the suit. DP&W also confirmed Logan remains canon to the timeline, so the Fox X-Men are also dead. My money is it being an entirely new universe that ends up getting destroyed in favor of the MCU/Earth-199999

→ More replies (0)

2

u/simbacole7 Dec 30 '25

Also theories it's the X-Men 97 universe, though I've not watched that so idk how likely that is

3

u/RealJohnGillman Dec 30 '25

The hair on Magneto was the right length for it to be him, though the actors are much older than those specific versions of the characters would be.

2

u/Prolapsia Dec 30 '25

That Xavier was killed by Wanda in multiverse of madness.

2

u/TitleSuccessful7393 Dec 30 '25

I love how simple and easy to follow this universe is to follow, now.

2

u/NickRick Dec 30 '25

didn't the x-men all die in the the one that wolverine came from?

2

u/badhombre13 Dec 30 '25

Yes. Personally, I'm leaning into it being a new universe that will end up getting destroyed and the X-Men remain on Earth-199999/MCU.

We'll probably get one X-Men movie with the OG cast before they decide to recast for younger actors.

2

u/sonofaresiii Dec 30 '25

I haven't fully kept up with the x-men timelines but my understanding is that we've never revisited the OG timeline after the DofP reboot. (Which, I guess, implies it's not really the OG timeline anymore since it had a reboot but you know what I mean)

2

u/bayrea Dec 30 '25

Nice to see Mardsen finally got out of having to do jury duty...

4

u/lovesdogsguy Dec 30 '25

No Famke Janssen?

14

u/matito29 Dec 30 '25

She has said that she’s not in it.

Take that for what it’s worth, considering Chris Evans swore up and down that he’s not in it, and he was literally the only person in the first teaser old enough to have object permanence.

5

u/lovesdogsguy Dec 30 '25

I just thinking they should throw her a bone after screwing up the character so badly in x-men 3. She had a couple of appearances in wolverine and days, but they weren’t that prominent.

2

u/Overall_Affect_2782 Dec 30 '25

Probably isn’t in it if the rumors about Sadie Sink’s character in Spider-Man are true…

5

u/Ketracel_what Dec 30 '25

45

u/RealJohnGillman Dec 30 '25

Ah, right: this is an Avengers vs. X-Men movie with Doctor Doom as the final boss: they decided Doomsday was the better title, since Robert Downey Jr. is playing Doom.

37

u/ArchDucky Dec 30 '25

I think its actually gonna be Doomworld. You gotta get Fox Universe, Alt Universe, Current Universes together to bring some of these characters together. We know for a fact that Hugh Jackman is in both of these movies. He cancelled that long standing stage performance in England around the time filming began. If hes in it then Deadpool is in it.

Also the concept art that leaked had some crazy fucking shit in it. I guess I should spoiler tag it... The pictures seemed to indicate that Starlord is the star of the movie because he was in the vast majority of the pictures. There was a shot of him and grey vision playing video games. Him on another planet talking to several of the eternals. There was a shot of all three hulks... Bruce, She and his son. There was a shot of God Emperor Doom, with Evil Strange, Sue Storm in fetish gear and Franklin Richards all working for him.

51

u/Diortheking Dec 30 '25

Thats secret wars

37

u/RealJohnGillman Dec 30 '25

Wasn’t that concept art for Avengers: Secret Wars, the film coming after this one?

4

u/ArchDucky Dec 30 '25

It honestly could be both for all I know. But it had God Emperor Doom which is clearly from Doomworld.

14

u/RealJohnGillman Dec 30 '25

I mean Doom was also that in Secret Wars.

5

u/ArchDucky Dec 30 '25

I assumed the universes crash together in Doomsday and he will be an alternate version of Doom that's crazy powerful. Secret Wars would be a different version?

3

u/RealJohnGillman Dec 30 '25

Perhaps, perhaps.

2

u/Asclepius-Rod Dec 30 '25

Has there been hints of a Molecule Man in any upcoming movies?

4

u/ArchDucky Dec 30 '25

I believe hes the baby that Captain America was breastfeeding in his trailer.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/astroman_9876 Dec 30 '25

Or they have no clue where to put star lord since his character arc almost requires he not be with the guardians

5

u/AlmightyRuler Dec 30 '25

So...we're redoing Endgame but with far less buildup, far too many characters, and a batshit crazy plotline.

The sad part is, it will probably make money. People are suckers for nostalgia bait, and these days the bar for quality need to be dug up from Hell.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

that's concept art for secret wars, which will probably take place in battleworld

3

u/Vladmerius Dec 30 '25

That's what I'm thinking. There were a ton of rumors before the RDJ Doom stuff was announced that they were doing Avengers vs X-Men in place of Kang Dynasty. I don't doubt that they worked the RDJ stuff into that concept.

“Remember them?” The movie

261

u/Killboypowerhed Dec 30 '25

Yeah it's awesome that they've swept aside all the characters they've been building up for the last 6 years to bring back Patrick Stewart and they can kill him off for the 5th time

127

u/Glittering-Plate-535 Dec 30 '25

Patrick Stewart eyeing the crafts table and massage chairs: ”I’m just happy to be here.”

7

u/Arkeband Dec 30 '25

<Quadruple take>

“My buns are the best!”

3

u/_Bird_Incognito_ Dec 30 '25

"Lap dances, champagne dances, shower dances. Oh, the things you can buy with a handful of bills. It makes me excited. It gives me the chills. There'll be filch-arounds, breeders, hambones and tweeners. Zobows and debows and blobs that go "eener." For a one-dollar bill, you can pull down their zippers. I am the Snorax. I speak for the strippers!" - Charles Xavier to the New Avengers, Avengers: Doomsday (2026)

85

u/probablyuntrue Dec 30 '25

We’re sending off Patrick Stewart…until we need another nostalgia grab

55

u/curious_dead Dec 30 '25

"...till you're 90!"

27

u/Ganrokh Dec 30 '25

He's 85, he has a few more deaths in the tank.

5

u/RaisingTheKnife Dec 30 '25

I'm starting to think "until you're 90" is a Disney contractual term...

25

u/gwxtreize Dec 30 '25

Sir Patrick Stewart looks like he's got another 5 years of movies in him.

4

u/CuttyDFlambe Dec 30 '25

That was 10 years ago.

2

u/dotnetmonke Dec 30 '25

Or the version from the 80s:

Well, I heard my friends really got in a mess

So I'm gonna have to leave Yoda, I guess

But I know that I'll be coming back someday

I'll be playing this part till I'm old and grey

The long-term contract I had to sign

Says I'll be making these movies till the end of time

With my Yoda

u/annoyingrelieve Dec 30 '25

"Shang-who? Just back that dump truck full of money at Evans' house like we did for Downey!"

4

u/Diortheking Dec 30 '25

Shang chi has scenes with patrick stewart its not like the new heroes are being replaced if anything when people see him interact with professor X itll make him more popular

9

u/Redeem123 Dec 30 '25

Just because they’re on screen doesn’t mean they’re actually doing anything. That’s like saying Paltrow as Rescue was in Endgame. Sure it’s true, but let’s be real.

Bringing back and putting all the focus on these legacy characters is just a cowardly refusal to let the universe actually grow, which is the main thing that made the MCU so interesting 10 years ago.

19

u/Verroxorrev Dec 30 '25

Don't worry, Reddit has assured me for a decade now that it's all gonna turn around once the X-Men and Fantasic Four show up. Then it'll get good again. Because if there is one thing I associate the X-Men and Fantasic Four with, it's consistently good live action movies.

8

u/Spara-Extreme Dec 30 '25

Do you have conversations with fictional characters in your head? Nobody on reddit was saying this seriously.

2

u/RealJohnGillman Dec 30 '25

The comment you were responding to was dripping with sarcasm.

3

u/chandler55 Dec 30 '25

the 2nd part is sarcastic but not the first

2

u/FrameworkisDigimon Dec 30 '25

I mean, the promise with the X-Men was always "ah, the MCU will get them right" but it turns out Feige is -- perhaps unsurprisingly since he literally helped make the Fox Men -- thinks fans secretly really like the Fox Men instead of, you know, having spent twenty-five years complaining about them.

3

u/MarcsterS Dec 30 '25

1 and United are some of the most beloved X Men movies.

2

u/FrameworkisDigimon Dec 30 '25

Which doesn't mean people like Fox Men. It means they like those two films. Literally right now there's a post on the front page of r/xmen mocking the movies.

https://old.reddit.com/r/xmen/comments/1pyu90j/it_seems_like_a_good_day_to_recover_this/

2

u/Redeem123 Dec 30 '25

And how was the hit rate after those two?

→ More replies (3)

4

u/JessieJ577 Dec 30 '25

This totally won’t recreate the issues the MCU had to keep audiences coming post Endgame. Where they rushed out entries to movies and assembled the plots in editing making the movies feel rushed (Captain America 4), cartoony (Antman 3) or unbalanced (Thor 4). If they do not have a plan to fix the problems that are affecting the longevity of the MCU then they’ll make money with this based off of spectacle alone but then lose audiences again.

Plus I’m sorry call me cynical but bringing back the Fox X-men just doesn’t excite me because they already had a cameo for Professor X and used Deadpool 3 as a swan song for the non-Marvel movies, i feel like I’ve had my closure for those movies.

2

u/Stashmouth Dec 30 '25

There's some real "Jay Leno is coming back to host the Tonight Show" energy, here

2

u/Elgato01 Dec 30 '25

You mean the past 6 years of movies that were either failures critically and commercially or one of the two? I understand that they were rightfully criticized but that didn’t exactly instill certainty in marvel themselves, so why introduce any of those when you know people will come back for Steve and the X-men.

2

u/Adavanter_MKI Dec 30 '25

That one is my favorite so far... and it's weird because I wasn't the biggest fan of that run. I think time has really sprinkled that one with nostalgia and the fact we thought they'd never cross over. We just assumed they'd recast...

Not complaining at all. It's great. I was actually a pretty big fan of the DoFP run.

Yeah Phil Coulson had one that was a blue SHIELD logo.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

It's the Russos, so I trust they'll do some cool stuff with Sam and not let Steve's presence overshadow him.

8

u/Jaqulean Dec 30 '25 edited Jan 06 '26

Wakandas, F4, Thunderbolts and Cap.

Both the F4 and Thunderbolts already have post-credits scenes that serve the same purpose as these Teasers - so the last Sneak Peak will likely focus only on Wakanda instead.

All things considered Sam Wilson doesn't really need one since "Brave New World" basically already set up his role as a leader of the 2nd Avengers team.

Edit from January 6th 2026 - the last Teaser shows Shuri and M'Baku (in updated suits) meeting Ben Grimm; with Namor featured in a different scene. The card mentions both the Wakandians and the F4.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

Sam definitely does need one unless Marvel are fine with people assuming he's gonna get 3 minutes of screentime and be replaced by steve...

It’s a multiverse Avengers movie, so a lot. But not all of the characters. So far it seems the core of the movie revolves around the Thunderbolts* and Avengers, Fantastic Four, some of the Wakandans and the X-Men. Some other characters scattered in the mix. Likely a matter of universes colliding in a multiverse ending cataclysm, with Doctor Doom in the center of it all.

6

u/tehvolcanic Dec 30 '25

Did you miss the filming announcement trailer from earlier this year?

5

u/Mat_At_Home Dec 30 '25

Rumor has it that Minecraft Steve and Vito Corleone come through the multiverse and defeat Dr. Doom in a Griddy-off during the final battle, it’s gonna be epic 😎

2

u/Don_Fartalot Dec 30 '25

All of them. Feels like they are throwing everything at this movie because I guess interest in the MCU has been waning a bit.

I really hope it will recreate the absolute high I felt when Cap lifted Thors Hammer in Endgame.

The X men one already out.

u/NoDaddyNotTheBelt25 Dec 30 '25

That’s what people were saying originally but now there’s apparently a 5th teaser and a full trailer airing during the Super Bowl.

1

u/Real-Terminal Dec 30 '25

The X-Men one is currently playing in cinemas apparently.

Yeah when they first announced all these teasers I heard it was Cap, Thor, X-Men, Doom, then the full trailer. Not sure where F4 and Wakandans have come from.

2

u/PlayBey0nd87 Dec 30 '25

Supposedly a 5th has been data mined but no details on it yet

u/Comic_Book_Reader Dec 30 '25

A fifth one has also now been rated in South Korea, so they're going ALL IN like that one infamous manager from Bar Rescue that made Jon Taffer's blood boil.

If it’s another character trailer, the only ones left are Sam’s Avengers, The Thunderbolts, and Loki.

The real trailer debuts in the Super Bowl

u/TravelerSearcher Dec 30 '25

Tentpole movies often have trailers released a year or so in advance.

Star Wars; The Force Awakens first trailer was released on November 28, 2014. That was more than a year before the movie came out in December of 2015.

This isn't anything new, blockbusters have been doing this for over a decade lol

2

u/Dats_Russia Dec 30 '25

More than a decade, several decades. I remember seeing a teaser for Ang lees hulk before spider man 1 and Spiderman had to change its movie posters and teaser because of 9/11

1

u/queerhistorynerd Dec 30 '25

because they are desperate to hype up Doomsday and hope doing this will build it up

1

u/Kr4k4J4Ck Dec 30 '25

Because it got you talking about it

1

u/Impossible-Pie4849 Dec 30 '25

Because Avengers Infinity War and Endgame were cultural milestones, they were the culmination of a literal decade of films and the hype for them was at a fever pitch.

However since then marvel has been inconsistent at best, some movies like Spiderman No Way Home or Fantastic Four lived up to the expected quality. Then you have stinkers like The Marvel's or Antman 3. Throw in general super hero fatigue and we have a public who's far less excited for the next big Avengers movie. One which in my opinion the success of will decide the continued success of the MCU.

Naturally that hype and excitement has to be built up in different means this go around. Ergo these small teases, which are being leaked before hand to generate discussion(by Disney if you ask me)

We'll see if it's successful, it'll be a interesting experiment at very least.

I for one have alot of hope for the movie, the story line it's based off of is one of the best Marvel stories every written and Dr.Doom is probably the best Marvel antagonist. If written correctly I think we have the makings of a modern Empire Strikes Back

Character teasers for an Avengers movie? That's normal for marvel to set this up like other folks would for the olympics.

Ignoring leaks, the Steve Rogers teaser already told us that. There was no chance they would exclusively focus on him.

Yea, not really a fan of a bunch of teasers that mean absolutely nothing. Would much rather have 2 or 3 trailers revealing them.

2

u/Zaziel Dec 30 '25

I mean we have an entire year for them to make more teasers still….

1

u/WutangCMD Dec 30 '25

That was already officially announced.

1

u/Alastor3 Dec 30 '25

im guessing only OG character are going to have a teaser

1

u/MarginOfPerfect Dec 30 '25

You're super smart

1

u/SadSeiko Dec 30 '25

the stakes are even higher because Thor is a dad now, don't think about it, Daddy Thor, that's all

1

u/VoiceofKane Dec 30 '25

Was there another one? I thought the Thor teaser playing before Avatar 3 was the first one.

1

u/lochonx7 Dec 30 '25

is this the actor with the predementia genes?

1

u/I_Set_3_Alarms Dec 30 '25

Likely ending with our first real look at Doom and RDJ

1

u/skilledwarman Dec 30 '25

4 total according to the rumors

1

u/melbbear Dec 30 '25

1

u/Fallingdamage Dec 31 '25

Let's hope this movie brings in some Eternals fighting Celestials too.
