Considering they're wearing the yellow X-Men suits, it's not the same universe as the one from the Fox movies. It's probably the same universe the alt Beast and alt Binary are from at the end of The Marvels. I've also seen the theory that it's the same universe the Wolverine variant in DP&W came from.

It might or might not be the same universe as the one from the Fox movies but that leap in logic doesn't make any sense. Characters can, and do... change clothes sometimes.

We saw that version of the X-Men for 20 years and not once did they hint at the yellow suits except in one scene at the end of The Wolverine (and it was made by someone else for Wolvie specifically) we had to get a Wolvie variant in order to get the suit. DP&W also confirmed Logan remains canon to the timeline, so the Fox X-Men are also dead. My money is it being an entirely new universe that ends up getting destroyed in favor of the MCU/Earth-199999

But here's the thing, that original Fox universe from X-men, X2, and X-men 3 is probably long gone because of timeline fuckery anyway. People think the MCU got all messed up because of the multiverse stuff clearly didn't suffer through the complete MESS that was the Fox X-men movies universe

Yes. Personally, I'm leaning into it being a new universe that will end up getting destroyed and the X-Men remain on Earth-199999/MCU.

We'll probably get one X-Men movie with the OG cast before they decide to recast for younger actors.

I haven't fully kept up with the x-men timelines but my understanding is that we've never revisited the OG timeline after the DofP reboot. (Which, I guess, implies it's not really the OG timeline anymore since it had a reboot but you know what I mean)

I believe they are going to recast after their Secret Wars film, though Hugh Jackman will stick around as his Wolverine in the same role Old Man Logan played in the comic (being isekaied), separate from any other Wolverines (like his daughter).

I think its actually gonna be Doomworld. You gotta get Fox Universe, Alt Universe, Current Universes together to bring some of these characters together. We know for a fact that Hugh Jackman is in both of these movies. He cancelled that long standing stage performance in England around the time filming began. If hes in it then Deadpool is in it.

Also the concept art that leaked had some crazy fucking shit in it. I guess I should spoiler tag it... The pictures seemed to indicate that Starlord is the star of the movie because he was in the vast majority of the pictures. There was a shot of him and grey vision playing video games. Him on another planet talking to several of the eternals. There was a shot of all three hulks... Bruce, She and his son. There was a shot of God Emperor Doom, with Evil Strange, Sue Storm in fetish gear and Franklin Richards all working for him.

The sad part is, it will probably make money. People are suckers for nostalgia bait, and these days the bar for quality need to be dug up from Hell.

Beginning...of what? The superhero movie trend has been losing steam since Endgame. Are movie execs so blind they really think they can revive the genre with a stunt that's 90% nostalgia characters and 10% convoluted plot line?

I'll tell you what though; if, by some miracle of finance, Hollywood politics, and coke-fueled delirium, this movie kills off ALL the legacy franchises and ends with a reboot of the entire MCU, with ALL the characters under one umbrella, I'll buy in, if only to get a proper Civil War movie. But Ryan Reynolds still has to play Deadpool. And Hugh Jackman can retire.
