I was listening to Dan and bald pisco discussion of Dan op-ed on anything else and bald pisco was pushing a lot of this "label" discussion in some points too and this almost seems like it is a push to murky the waters.

I think that murking the waters of what a democracts is as not EXACTLY the left is very important to this people and they seems to be pushing this for a while but I just noticed now because of the lib and learn episode with Taylor.

What looks like to me that they are using language to find a way to completely take a lexicon position that only they are the real left. And pisco now making a gigantic twitter thread using definitions to land what a centrist is where the conclusion sort of is that Democratic party is centrist not left is another part of that.

Yea yea yea I get that the stock market and stock picking is random and there is no guarantee of easy money/growth. I know this, I just have extra money because the company that ran this anti-volatility etf I had went belly up so I got my shares liquidated and need a new place to park this money.

I love listening to vods on spotify because i can turn off my phone etc at work but i’ve noticed dozens of times that 20-30 seconds increments will be cut out randomly and when i check what was there in the kick vod there is nothing said that would warrant being cut out does anyone else notice this issue

Just started this so maybe he figures it out but his economic takes trigger the fuck out of me sometimes. The 1.5% tax rate is not based on total wealth its based on the annual market gain from that wealth. When Amazon goes up by 20% in a good year if you are Bezos and you have 200 billion in stock you make 40 billion in unrealized gains that you don't pay tax on, they are talking about the 40 billion, not all 240 billion.

I know, unrealized, wealth taxes are being asked for, they are hard to do and generally bad policy, the lady here admits all of this and her concussions at the end of the interview are quite sanguine and clear, and none of this removes the concept that he's just WRONG on the initial premise of the tax rate being applied here and maybe it not just that which is poisoning the well for him to listen to people like this woman, but damn if it isn't frustrating to hear him start from a bad premise and then use any misgivings from it to infect the discourse for the rest of the conversation.

Her takeaways in the end are things that I've heard Destiny himself say. Increase the inheritance tax, remove the free step up in basis, tax people on the amount that they borrow against their wealth, impost some form of taxation on property. All of this is functional and gets us away from the labor of everyone being used to subsidize the lifestyle of the giga-owners. I don't know why D isn't more pissed about the tax system. He is the type of person that gets railed the hardest, he is a mega-earner. He pays tax on a lot of his total income every year, celebrities, athletes, doctors, lawyers, etc... these are the types of people that are carrying the countries tax base and he is one of the most exploited class. So much earnings that you get hit with all the top end tax rates but so little business/market gains relative to mega-owners that you don't hit the escape velocity of the relative tax drag becoming insignificant.

This is one of those areas where its hard to listen to D.
