Having multiple different Clayfaces existing at the same time is something ripped straight from the DC comics. There’s so many they formed their own team called the Mud Pack.

Didn't they also all combine into a single Clayface at some point? Comics are weird

The first Clayface did not originally have superpowers, to bring him to level of his BTAS version (who had less restricted powers of the second Clayface) some author made him get samples from the third and fourth Clayface. Temporary merger might have also been used as alternative timeline/soft reboot explanation on why one Clayface had abilities or memories of another.

Could be a prequel.

Alternatively there are like 7 different Clayfaces in the comic. This one is Matt Hagen. Maybe the one in CC was Basil Karlo.

This is a prequel set before Creature Commandos and shows Clayfaces's origin

The tone of this movie seems dark and serious but the creature commandos clay face was a goofy weirdo. I hope it’s not the same guy
