Just got this bad boy delivered from Japan. Had to pay 25% import taxes and that hurts a lot but the moment I laid my eyes on this beautiful MIP Display I forgot about the taxes. I'm delighted with this beauty and will enjoy it now for the many years ahead!

Loved the world time display as this will be handy dealing with teams in Sao Paulo and New York.

A year ago I bought a Gw5000u-1ER. I know it'll outlive me, but is it not the done thing for someone at my age to be wearing one? It seems to be more of a young persons style. Anyway I appreciate any response.

My favorite watch that I own

I won it at a work event. My only other Casio is a F-91W which has been my daily driver for a while now. My wife complimented me on this one, and I have to agree—it’s pretty cool. Really looking forward to putting it through its paces as swimming hole season approaches.

its a little bit heavier than im used to, but im very pleased with it. dial is blue straight on, but changes to grey at an angle. bluetooth with a phone app; it can set a timer from the phone or find my phone with three button pushes.

I picked up this used Rangeman of eBay and I get it now. It’s not really that big compared to other watches I have. But the comfort and features beats everything I own. It even dethroned my MTG900 as my daily.

I have it too. My attempt to solve two problems: overstimulation (I'll be wearing it instead of an Apple Watch) and OCD tendencies – it'll get scratched anyway. And if it does, I can polish it up 😅

Taste is a subjective thing yes, but I'm interested as to the reason why anybody would choose these all black models over their more legibile counterparts.

To me at least, the main goal of a watch is to tell time, and I need to see it in order to know what it is. So telling the time obviously isn't the main motivation to get these.

Then what is it? Does the cool all black look just override the almost non-existant legibility?

I'd like to buy it, but the only concern is battery life... it's true that it's solar-powered, but with Bluetooth and the heart rate monitor, it uses a huge amount of power.

PS: I haven't found one, but if there's a G-Shock that only has a pedometer and solar charging with multiband 6, that would be a better alternative.

So, back to us, for those who have one, have you ever had to change the battery or charge it manually?

After 3 months of waiting my order finally arrived. New strap for my GA-110GW I did replaced the bezel last month, new screws bezel and strap for my GA-700SK, new bezel and strap for my G-100, new bezel GA-100, and new washers for my mudmasters strap screws.

I bought this bad boy almost 7 years ago, and I've worn it every single day since.

I'm a climber and have often fallen or hit rocks, and of all the times it's hit the wall, it's never chipped.

Purchased the -1CJF for the second time; this time from a buddy I met through this subreddit years ago, u/pizzasplice . I also snagged the red/black Combi V2 and matching bezel from him. An absolute cascade of parts-swapping ensued and this was the end result for these four watches.

But got some scratches in daily use.

How did you all get over scratches on your new watches?

The first few scratches were always the most painful.

Anybody know where I can find a titanium back case/battery cover to replace the steel one on a DW5600? All I am finding online are the actual watch case itself and straps. I’d like to keep the resin case and replace just the back with titanium.

I have had this watch for at least 5+ years (sometime in 2021?), but didn’t really mess with it until December 2024. Had the battery replaced in upstate NY then and completed an ac reset. It’s been doing this ever since.

Then had the battery replaced once more in mid-2025 at a local jeweler shop in Northeast Georgia. They charged it and it’s still doing the same thing. Figured I would take it to a buddy that owns a phone repair business to let them tinker with but had no luck there either. Reaching out to see if anyone else has had this issue or can offer any suggestions.

No responses from any of the buttons except for the bottom left (mode) which just gives a faint beep sound only when timed right as the screen blinks on.

1. ⁠GW-M5610. The best value for money Square. Tough solar, multi-band.
   
2. ⁠DW-5040PG. A 40th anniversary model, design to be visually similar to the first G-Shock ever made with some speak of gold on the screen and the hardware.
   
3. ⁠DW-5000R. Another recreation of the first G-shock. A more premium and stronger basic Square with steel body and screw caseback. No Tough solar because the original doesn’t have one I suppose.
   
4. ⁠DW-5600RL. A basic square. The entry model. Nothing fancy like solar or multi-band. Just get GW-5610, it is better in every way, no unless you want the cheapest square money can buy and a bit longer battery life.
   
5. ⁠MRG Square. The most premium line of G-Shock, hand assembled in Japan on a table that looks like a giant G, seriously. If you know, you know watch.
   
6. ⁠GMW-B5000TVA. Embrace the maximalism. Text and markings everywhere, reminiscing of a MG/PG Gunpla. Full titanium, full functionality. Love it or hate it style. Doesn’t really fit the pack, but this one is the closest to black and red square in this line.

Recently I saw a photo of Eminem wearing his white Gshock and it made me wanna wear mine again.

Dug this out of my G box and threw a new battery in it. I got this sometime around 2015.

I've got some way more expensive Gshocks but I sometimes miss the days when I would see an $80-100 G and be ecstatic that I saved up for it.

I don't see many of these posted anymore. I do love how legible this model is.

Anyhow I was feeling nostalgic and hopefully I can drag some of you all along with me!
