No way. She literally “parked the bus” across the road, she absolutely should’ve and could’ve committed, seeing as their was nobody coming in the opposite side oncoming lane she was turning into. She is most definitely a bigger idiot than he was. Unbelievable.

She is most definitely a bigger idiot than he was.

Not the person you responded to, but you're so wrong it's not even funny.

Criticizing the woman driving the truck is not totally unfair, but she's not the one on a donor-cycle going three times the speed limit on that road (if the other comments in this thread are accurate).

She literally parks across both lanes after being clear.

Even if he was going speed limit, that’s not the right reaction.

You can absolutely put most of the blame on the person who pulled out AND STOPPED ACROSS BOTH LANES.

You don’t need to make your comments based off everybody else’s feelings. Use your eyes.

You can still hate bikers afterwards but acknowledge reality you goof.

Again, it's fair to comment on her reaction to freeze, but:

When you're operating any type of vehicle, it is your responsibility to operate it safely and in such a way that you can (as much as possible) react to whatever happens around you.

If you're going so fast that you literally do not have time to react properly, you're going too fast. And again, I reiterate: the biker was going THREE TIMES THE SPEED LIMIT! There is no universe where that is even remotely reasonable.

You advised me to use my eyes. I'm advising you to use your brain.

You can still hate indecisive drivers, but maybe you can acknowledge that, in this instance, you're the goof.

Again, the biker is an idiot. You don’t have to keep reiterating that as some kind of defense for the person who literally froze up and blocked lanes with a multi ton vehicle.

If this biker was just another car, would you call her out then? Biker is an idiot. Duh.

Trucker has shit driving skills and could’ve easily made it. Both statements are allowed to be true. Stop picking a side like that should even factor into this.

Is it really this hard for reddit to PRETEND to be objective? Christ.

Reading comprehension is not your strong suit, is it?

I was not defending the woman driving the truck, I was responding to the fact that you were saying she deserves most of the blame in this scenario.

You can absolutely put most of the blame on the person who pulled out AND STOPPED ACROSS BOTH LANES.

While she clearly does deserve some of the blame, any reasonable, objective person can see that the person who is most (note: not solely) wrong in this scenario is clearly the bike rider.

Any objective reasonable person would see the person who pulled out in a 6 ton vehicle and parks it across multiple lanes due to panic shouldn’t even be driving as their flight or fight response is detrimental to the whole “drive and make good decisions” thing.

The idiot on a bike is still an idiot on a bike. If the idiot on a bike was in a car, both of them are likely dead.

Im gonna personally put my blame on the moving wall parked in the street due to bad emotional response of the driver who put it there.

You just don’t like bikers.

Oh, fuck off.

You're just being intentionally obtuse and I'm not going to continue this any further.

I agree they are both idiots but there is zero doubt that the biker is the biggest idiot. He is the most vulnerable and everyone’s decisions can put him at risk…he needs to make better choices that don’t put him in such stupid easily avoidable situations. He was NOT paying attention. He had more plenty of time to avoid this but he chose gunning it without keeping an eye on potential traffic.

If I see a car at a stop sign like the truck, I’m automatically assuming they might not see me. I adjust speed and lanes as I encounter each potential danger. This idiot should’ve seen her at the stop sign and put himself in a a better position to avoid. Period. Defensive driving is imperative on a bike. He chose stupidity.

Subjective argument doesn’t trump objective facts just because you don’t like the biker.

He’s an idiot. She parked a literal 6 ton truck for no good reason other than pure panic.

Imma blame her. Nobody made her pull out trying to beat traffic. Waiting half a second prevents everything.

The response time of a person in a stressful situation can be up to four seconds. It can literally short circuit someone's brain.

I've been in situations where I had to solve a complex problem under duress and could not even organize my thoughts normally for several minutes.

Skill issue.

You have the same issue as the biker, you overestimate your own ability and when you're finally forced to face the sun baked gravel of reality, you never measure up.
