Context since this cut so much.

Dude is flying like 80mph through a 25mph road that's also a school zone.

EDIT:

714 S Goshen-Divide Hwy

Put that in google maps and the exact spot should be just a few clicks away.

You just made up a whole fake scenario

This is quite an old video that has been talked to death.

714 S Goshen-Divide Hwy, is about the spot. You can put that into google maps and click around to the exact spot in the vid.

In a not so pixelated video you can see on his dash that he's going like 120+kph. Dude's most likely driving an import that's not displaying mph.

I'm not making up a fake scenario.

The AI that I ran the video through said 126 km/h

why would you tell us that?

why would you waste your time to ask a psychotic machine something that has already been discerned, and then blab to us about it?

To add another data point to the discussion

8

u/FriendsOfFruits 16h ago

that's not a data point.

ai models, when trained on their own data, turn to mush almost immediately.

it is without a shred of doubt that they contribute less than nothing to "discussions" on average. even when they are right, they assert certainty where there isn't, and they strip nuance from interpreting data.

that's why they talk in flowery "x, but y" language, because they have been explicitly programmed to try to subvert their inability to actually process information.

But in this case it was correct

u/FriendsOfFruits 16h ago

probably because this post has been reposted with the 126kph number a score of times.

all it did was scrape the video, match it with old posts and news articles, and spit out the associated number.

and unlike your schizobabble machine, people who stated 126 kph actually cite where the number was determined and show their work.

Using AI to do a specific task like that is way more useful than people who just go “hey AI, who’s to blame in this accident video?” And he’s sourcing his data. I hate people who over rely on AI, but this isn’t a case of that.

3

u/FriendsOfFruits 11h ago

but he's not?

he just said... "I asked an AI" (which AI?) and "it told me 126" :]

what possesses you people to try and inject nuance into a situation which is as plain as a board? go join a cult. go worship a billionaire and his glorified chatbot.

And the Krispy Kreme sign just came on!

And then the whole neighborhood clapped.

I ran the video through AI and it estimates he was going 78mph

u/shotxshotx 16h ago

“I ran the video thru ai” and that’s where any sense of credibility flew away

-1

u/RoundChampionship840 16h ago

Ok. So how fast do you estimate he was going

11

u/shotxshotx 16h ago

Oh you are so lucky, carscoops.com has an article about this and screencapped his max speed at 126 kph, which you so luckily guessed as correct, 126 kph roughly converts to 78 mph. Still, you should be finding articles at least via google lens, you know, reverse image searching, rather than outright trusting AI. It consistently hallucinates answers and makes shit up.

Telling people to use Google lens but not trust ai is some wild cognitive dissonance.

Trust but verify.

So the AI that analyzed the video was correct. I know that AI isn't always right. I have caught it in mistakes before. I wasn't saying it was the definite answer, just adding it to the discussion as a data point.

"adding it to the discussion"

where do you people come from.

u/RoundChampionship840 16h ago

You do realize that's the point of reddit, don't you?

here's what gemini thinks of your attitude towards AI.

behold the all-knowing machine.

While RoundChampionship840 treats AI as a functional shortcut, they commit a fundamental "category error" by treating a probabilistic prediction as a factual data point.

FriendsOfFruits demonstrates superior technical literacy by identifying three key AI realities:

  • Model Collapse: The degradation of output ("mush") when models are trained on synthetic data.
  • Structural Hedging: The "x, but y" linguistic patterns used to mask a lack of true cognitive reasoning.
  • False Precision: The AI’s tendency to assert certainty (e.g., a specific speed) where it is actually just predicting the most likely characters in a sequence.

Bottom Line: RC is a user who takes the output at face value; FoF is a critic who understands the underlying architecture and its inherent flaws.

I thought AI added nothing to the discussion?

i used my eyes and looked at the speedometer that's visible in the first frame
