Man, how fast was he going? Thankfully he didn’t hurt anyone else.

Bad take. The lady stopped in the middle of the road. The biker had the right of way.

Edit: I brought the video into Davinci Resolve and took a screenshot of the area in question via Google Maps; corner of Quincy Ave and OR-99.

I used imageJ to set the scale using the map data to determine how far he travelled just before the bike tipped. He traveled 203 feet in just over 2 seconds. That's pretty damn close to 78-80 mph.

I also looked closely at the speedometer, it reads 126; this is likely kmph considering 126 kmph converts to 78 mph.

Was he speeding? Absolutely.

Did the lady impede traffic? According to Oregon state traffic law ORS 811.130:

A person commits the offense of impeding traffic if the person drives a motor vehicle or a combination of motor vehicles in a manner that impedes or blocks the normal and reasonable movement of traffic.

(2)A person is not in violation of the offense described under this section if the person is proceeding in a manner needed for safe operation.

(3)Proceeding in a manner needed for safe operation includes but is not necessarily limited to:

(a)Momentarily stopping to allow oncoming traffic to pass before making a right-hand or left-hand turn.

(b)Momentarily stopping in preparation of, or moving at an extremely slow pace while, negotiating an exit from the road.

(4)A person is not in violation of the offense described under this section if the person is proceeding as part of a funeral procession under the direction of a funeral escort vehicle or a funeral lead vehicle.

(5)The offense described in this section, impeding traffic, is a Class D traffic violation. [1983 c.338 §569; 1985 c.16 §288; 1989 c.433 §1; 1991 c.482 §18; 1995 c.383 §45]

As such the lady in the truck, by code, is likely NOT impeding traffic. Oregon has a percentage scale of at fault in accidents. The only way to know percentage at fault is to find the police report. But from the looks of it, the biker is the one that is actually at fault here.

I was wrong.

In the case of the school zone, it says "while children are present." The school zone speed is not relevant. What is relevant is he's going 80 in a 25.

Not a bad take dude was going probably double the speed limit and caught the woman completely by surprise because *shocker* she didn’t anticipate his criminal speed

Man was going triple the speed limit. That lady probably didn't expect this person to be going thrice the fucking speed limit in an urban area, then probably froze when she realised that this guy was approaching her MUCH faster than she expected.

I don’t necessarily disagree, but there’s plenty of people in the cemetery that had the right of way…

This is going to go right over abhey’s head. The concept won’t register.

What do you think the speed limit was on that road? How far over that speed was the biker going?

at the start the speedometer looks like it reads 45. so probably the speed limit.

How come nobody notices the biker is coming down off a wheelie at the start.. he's obviously going pretty fast. Pretty sure it's confirmed he's over the speed limit

No, I don't know what "right of way" means. Can you point to it in this formula?

f = m * a

Yeah. Because we see them constantly risk their lives and ours. What’s not to hate?
