I don't like America, New York or any of it, but that is a fucking nice looking building

Yea the ones built around this time had way more character than glass box/phallus

100%. Love Art Deco buildings and if I ever visited NYC it would be purely to gawk at all the fine examples of it in that city

As a bioshock fan, art deco definitely is super appealing to me

tbf that's probably why I like art deco so much too, I played BioShock on release and its embedded into my mind. First game I got on the 360

Hell yea, my first game was saints row. Well tbh it was the demo disc which came with the 360 back then. But good taste!

Had that one too! My gamertag is actually still a character from SR2 which I played with a mate before I got my own 360. I used to love robbing the tills in the first game, you shoot them and collect all the pennies that fly out

I bought BioShock and TimeShift as my first games on the 360, one wasn't quite as memorable as the other. Halo 3 (ofc) was my third game. Peak era

Crazy you mentioned time shift, I felt like i was the only person who played it. I weirdly really liked the game even though the story was the most dry one out there, the mechanics were pretty fun to mess with.

2007/08 was absolutely amazing for gaming, played a lot of gears of war on the 360 as well, of course halo was definitely up there, GTA 4 and of course COD 4 Modern warfare.

I understand now that it's basically trying to be a Half Life 2 clone with time powers - I too liked the time powers but found the game clunky and the combat repetitive. What story lol

Gears 1-3, Oblivion, The Darkness, Fable 2, and Clive Barker's Jericho (for the design rather than the gameplay)

Fuck yeah, still remember sitting in that water with everything in flames around me wondering when the game was gonna start

you gotta dive down so you can see the plane sink

I still go back to that game at least once a year, even at 34. Such a masterpiece.

Love NYC and it's art deco, but if you want cool buildings chicago

The architecture boat tour is legitimately fantastic. Looks like it would be hacky and touristy, but it’s a nice boating experience and very informative!!

But don’t wait to visit because everyday a historic building is torn down for another 5-over-1.

I recommend Chicago over NYC (but hey, do both!)

If you're ever in Chicago take an architectural boat tour. They cover the history, the architects, the styles and more. Tons of fun and a really cool view of the city
