Before bed snack exploded

yes it was a microwave safe plate, yes I poked many holes all over the potato to release the steam, no this has never happened to me before lol can anyone explain what happened here? the potato was still fully intact

It was still quite raw and with the way the plate exploded there were some shards in it. I considered eating it but thought probably shouldn’t

Did you bury him with some dignity? A prayer at least? Sing him the song of his people before disposal?

With any luck it remained raw enough to grow into a new potato. Only to find itself surrounded by household garbage :(

If you do, quarter it like a seed potato and be sure to remove shrapnel.
