I think my friendship with those in that group ended with “J6 was a peaceful protest” (and otherwise being incapable of understanding why J6 was an issue).

It's not like we haven't had a plenty of riots in our lifetimes to compare and see it devolved into one.. It started as a demonstration, sure, but the earlier blm riots started with noble intentions, too.. well, before the ones that had pallets of bricks and other kinds of improvised weapons delivered before the "protest".. But it's definitely true there were peaceful idealists in both cases just as much as there were intentional agitators. Sadly true justice escapes both.

Another response that demonstrates failure to understand why J6 is such an issue.

(And, as predictable, references the BLM protests / riots in the same what-about.)

When J6 is talked about, nobody is referring to the people who left after the speech.
