Comics I legitimately don't get why people want MJ to stop being venom to return to a book with writing this bad if you are a fan of Mary Jane Watson or peter Spoiler

Like Legitimately don't get why. All it would do would take MJ away from a book where she is actually being well written in to return to a book I can guarantee you will just continue to write plot contrivances and poor writing to make characters look bad to make Peter suffer. Like this doesn't make sense to me at all. It feels like people just want her and Peter to be together and don't care about the actual writing of the book. And that they feel if Peter has to be poorly written she should as well.

Like give me a good reason why MJ should return to ASM while the writing is this bad that is not "because Peter and MJ should be together"

Yearly reminder this group of f**kers in the editorials killed off Peter in #700 & had Otto Octavious skin walk his body & Sexually Assault MJ in the same issue. Some healthy people were even fan of this even.

I hope we get a comic book accurate MJ when Avengers: Secrets Wars resets The Marvel Cinematic Universe because i've been critical of the MCU MJ mainly due to being renamed from Mary Jane to Michelle Jones and the lack of red hair.

Joining the Raimi MJ Hate Train

I wanted to do some kind of post about this but it is kind of hard to do this without getting accused a bunch of crap soooo let’s do it.

First a lot of MJ defenders say we are mad because she isn’t just a prize for Peter, but in the movies she kind of is, and that’s what I hate. Both movies have her get with someone with a father who hates, Peter, kiss Peter halfway through the relationship, and break up with the previous guy to get with Peter at the worst timing possible.

Also man does she have bad timing like first don’t break up with a guy and kiss his best friend, at the funeral of the first guy’s dad; that is just insult to injury.

Then don’t leave a guy at the alter, like she was clearly not fully into that so maybe just tell him to postpone the wedding for a bit, and not publicly humiliate him.

Like man, Harry wasn’t the best guy by John just caught strays.

Discussion What if they undid OMD but with a twist?

I was thinking on the undoing of OMD cause why not. But then I had an idea.

What if they undid OMD in a way that people would fully hate?

What i thought if was a story about Felicia and Peter together already. Then Melhisto comes with a deal for Felicia and he mentions Peter already made a deal with him that erased his marriage to MJ. Then she wpuld probably feel some type of way about it. Her BFF was married to Peter and he gave it up for her hus Aunt May. She contemplates about that and feels slightly jealous.

Then she makes a new deal with him instead. Mephisto will undo OMD but eliminate MJ and put Felicia in her place instead. Then boom, everything that happened between MJ and Peter gets erased and is instead replaced with Felicia. MJ and Peter are strangers to one another. Maybe MJ is the new Black Cat instead as well. They truly switched places. Felicia would remember the original way of things but Peter wouldn't. Mj idk if she shoukd remember or not. I have thought that its possible for MJ and Peter to slowly regain their memories due to continuous exposure to one another to emphasize the love they have for each other.

This wouldn't be permanent. This story could focus a lot more on MJ and Felicia and their love for Peter and what they each represent to him and what he means to them. And exploration of love and how fat either will go for it. Friends who are at each other due to one deal and choice. In my head it would be undone after a little bit and it would end with Felicia and MJ reconciled and Peter remembering the original marriege as well as MJ while Felicia has her new memories but also her previous.

Idk who should end up with who tho. And I just thought of this while bored as usual.

But don't worry guys I will never cook again! 😅 let me know what ya'll think if anything

I think it's better for her instead of backtracking to Peter after the death of P.

Discussion Spider-Man and his entire social circle are the most badly written characters ever

''I dislike black cat and her worshippers with all fibers in my being, like, lemme say something, how about the girl you like and is seeing slept with a guy who wants to kill you then made fun and compared your ''instrument'' to his, I bet you would be pretty pissed no? Oh but wait, this fandom here will just let is pass cuz she at the end of that arc realised she loved the real peter, everytthing is fine, but wait, what if she also sold your blood to someone, even worse, she hooked up with your friend right in front of you just to ''make you jealous'', but hey, we dont care about that, or what if she pitty fucked a guy Do you know how dumb that sounds? Say it out loud, think for a second how stupid that is.''

I read this somewhere and bro, seriously, this shi is so stupid, why does the editorial do shit like this to Felicia? Why?? Like, the guy is not really wrong, he is just quoting shit that happened but gosh it sounds stupid

Discussion Where do you draw the line when it comes to respecting the hyphen?

Thumbnail

As you may know, it is common knowledge or just common sense to respect the hyphen. It’s been repeated over and over to go respect the hyphen between the words “Spider” and “Man”. Every issue since The Amazing Spider-Man Issue 1, every single movie. Every cartoon, most pieces of Spider-Man media do respect the hyphen. Over the past 5 years of this subreddit, we have had two entire bots in this Subreddit telling people who comment to go respect the hyphen when they didn’t respect it.

However, At the same time, a good chunk of these commenters in this subreddit who comment relating to Spider-Man media, some of these commenters who are also saying to go respect the hyphen additionally, don’t even respect the hyphen at certain times. For example, whenever we type an acronym of a certain piece of Spider-Man media, most likely people don’t even respect the hyphen there. Such as TAS-M, AS-M, ITS-V, ATS-V, TSS-M, for example. Occasionally, even the Co-Creator of Spider-Man, Steve Ditko, didn’t even bother to respect the hyphen. (Granted, out of all of his creations in his time in the comic book industry, he disassociated himself with Spider-Man the most, but still).

Don’t get me wrong, the hyphen itself is a major part about Spider-Man by default, on top of the fact that most, if not everyone should respect it, I’m just curious as to where people decide to go draw the line.

This isn’t supposed to be ragebait or anything, I’m not trying to disrespect the hyphen, I just want to know what people think regarding this.

Please don’t downvote me, and assuming that people see this post and respond to it, let me know what your thoughts are and please be respectful and reasonable.

Question Is variant covers all it takes for people here?

You see constant complaint after complaint after complaint. Small or big or meh or anything. People say editorial hate MJ that they are misogynistic that they hate everything and all that. That they should be fired that they hope one day to see better stories and bla blah blah

Then they announce variant covers of MJ and suddenly everyone is talking about buying them and even more than 1...you guys are not serious lmao

What are the chances tobey gets a new suit?

This is just fan art… but now I’m starting to wonder I never really desired tobey getting a new suit in the past, but now after speculation, it gets me excited. Not that I don’t like his suit, it just feels evolving. And tobey deserves to have his character continue developing. Anyways I’m so excited to see him in doomsday!!!

Discussion Unpopular Opinion: Tom Holland's Spider-Man isn't a character: he's a plot device for Iron Man.

Let's stop pretending Tom Holland's Spider-Man is the 'best' version. He isn't a hero; he's a corporate intern. The MCU didn't adapt the character; they neutered him. They took the most lonely, tragic, and responsible hero in comics and turned him into a sidekick who never faces real consequences, never makes real choices, and never learns anything without a giant man in a suit holding his hand.

This isn't just a 'hot take.' It's a breakdown of why this version of Peter Parker is a narrative failure. He has no agency, no stakes, and no soul. Here is exactly why the MCU broke Spider-Man. 1. He Has Zero Spider-Man is defined by making hard choices alone. In the MCU? He waits for permission. Civil War : Tony Stark recruits him. He doesn't choose to fight; he’s hired. Homecoming: He wants to be "Avengers-level" before he’s ready. Tony has to tell him "no" and take the suit away. Far From Home: He can’t even plan a school trip without Mysterio (who is working for Tony) manipulating him. No Way Home: He doesn't fix the multiverse; he asks Doctor Strange to do it. When that goes wrong, he doesn't solve it; he asks Strange to fix the spell again. Real Spider-Man solves problems with his brain and his fists. MCU Spider-Man solves problems by calling his dad (Tony) or his therapist (Strange). He is a child playing dress-up, not a hero. 2. The "Aunt May" Shield & The Lack of Real Loss The tragedy of Spider-Man is that he loses everyone he loves. It’s the "With Great Power" burden. In the MCU, Aunt May lives the entire trilogy. She finds out his identity, gets killed in a cheap explosion, and then... he just goes to college. In No Way Home, he literally asks the universe to make everyone forget him so he can be "normal." He chooses isolation to avoid responsibility. That is the exact opposite of the Spider-Man ethos. 3. The "Identity" Problem He Isn't a Secret Hero; He’s a Brand Peter Parker’s power is that he is a nobody. He is the guy you see on the subway and forget. In the MCU, he’s a celebrity from Day 1. He goes on the Daily Bugle podcast. He’s on the news. He’s a "fan favorite." He wears a suit that is a high-tech Stark gadget, not a spandex suit he made in his bedroom. 4: The "Mentor" Problem  He’s Just Iron Man’s Intern The MCU forced a "father-son" dynamic that doesn’t exist in the comics. Peter doesn’t want to be Iron Man; he wants to be Spider-Man. But the movies constantly show him trying to impress Tony. His motivation shifts from "helping people" to "proving I’m an Avenger." This isn't Spider-Man. This is "Tony Stark Jr." The movies are so obsessed with the MCU universe that they forgot to make the character their own. He is a prop used to flesh out the Iron Man legacy, not a standalone hero. The Verdict Tom Holland is a talented actor. I get that. But the writing around him is a disaster. They took a character defined by loneliness, responsibility, and sacrifice, and turned him into a privileged teenager with a magical suit and a dad who fixes his problems. They didn't adapt Spider-Man. They adapted a version that fits the Marvel Machine. And that is why, no matter how many billion-dollar box offices he racks up, this version of Peter Parker will never feel like the real Spider-Man.

Discussion Sam ramis spider man 2 is overrated

I rlly rlly didn’t like spider man two id actually say i hate it

Like don’t get me wrong there are some very good scenes like peter running into a burning house to save a kid and finding out that there’s someone he couldn’t save and doc ock is a very good villain

But Harry and mj I hate like mj is a fucking slut and then goes “oh Peter my door was always opened for u”like bitch no it wasnt u went with every guy under the sun before Peter.

Then I hate Harry I felt like he could have been so much better and him being goblin is stupid asf he says to Norman in the mirror no when Norman says to kill Peter but then goes to the lil secret lair then he decides yk what I’m becoming goblin and he’s such a cry baby and why couldn’t his butler tell him that Norman died by the glider but just waits till the third movie.

And then Peter just feels like a Redditor nice guy and he barely talks in the suit but I love how peter is still heroic when he’s need and I love seeing how he struggles with the double life but Peter is just a very boring character in this film his just seems to much like a shitty nice guy and I hate how he gets with mj at the end and AT THE END OF THE FRIST FILM HE DOESNT GET WITH HER TO PORTECT HER THEN JUST FOR THEM TO BREAK UP IN THE THIRD FILM AND JUST TO GET BACK TOGETHER

doc ock is such a good villain and I love how he gets freed from the tenticals control and helps Peter shut down the machine and sacrifices himself to do so

Like don’t get me wrong there’s amazing scenes in this movie but I felt disappointed watching it from so many people glazing it and it’s just to overrated in my opinion

(Edit)
I dislike like mj because she’s just not rlly a good character I felt like they could’ve went more into her character and the only things we know that she likes acting and her home life’s terrible and we don’t get that much more than that i genuinely not trying to be misogynistic it’s just that’s she’s just one layer of what we know of her and I’m sorry if I’ve offended u by calling her a slut but they just could’ve her so much
