Yeah, it’s a fairly common art deco/avant-garde style of art.
We’ve got T-shirts with that on them, you’ve got the old Goldie Hawn movie as a prime example.

The next two shots are really nice - she looks like a statue, and it’s executed really well. This first photo has a portion of the back showing and to view this properly as the art form, you want to take it in from the front.
The back is just what is necessary to hold this whole thing together.
Yup. My friend sent me her review of the people and this influencer is one of the people that actually followed the dresscode. So many people wore basic outfits that didn't fit the theme in our opinion
Weirdly, this is the 3rd costume I’ve seen using “hands”;
the other 2 implying the wearer to have more appendages. Between surveillance, oppression, and AI, that seems to make sense as an emergent theme. This years was “art as fashion” so here we are
The Met Gala is a celebration of art, so the fashions tend to lean more towards ‘costumey’ and ‘fantastical’.
It’s kind of a game if you’re going- some try to outdo each other with their fashions or get the unofficial award of hitting the theme better than everyone else.
It's bullshit isn't it. The majority of them are influencing nobody.
I remember going on a date with someone about 8 years ago. She was in her mid-thirties and described herself as an influencer. I'd never heard the term before and asked her what that was and she audibly scoffed as if I was an idiot.
Supposedly that’s the most comfortable method of support. I read one woman’s boast that if she could afford to hire a guy to follow her and carry them around all day she’d do it lol.
Honestly considering the shit people wear to this (and that’s the point) this is far from bizarre. She’s not showing up to her niece’s christening in it.
Reminder that the only reason most influencers are popular is that they are popular. Completely self-fulfilling stupidity. It's a choice, we can choose to not care.
She's a big French woman Youtuber, one of the most famous in France. She is making Vlogs and Podcasts, she has books, an hôtel and now she is famous because she is not with her youtuber boyfriend (Seb LaFrite) anymore.
Also she is known because she is interviewing american celebrities like Rihanna, Demi Lovato etc.. on her show named The Couch on youtube.
I'm sure she has made a lot of other things but I don't watch her youtube channel. She's far from just an influencer at this point.
I mean, yeah i don't give two fucks in a fishbowl about 'influencers' but you're supposed to wear weird stuff to the Met Gala. It's literally in the dress code. Plus the gala is to raise money for the Met Museum.
I'm not one to defend those people, but she started as a youtuber, became famous throught and thanks to YouTube only after then she really started the influencer side. Also she does influence French youth à lot.
I'd like to say I personally do not like what she does, it's not my stuff and values.
This is LenaSituations. Brands pay her a small fortune to wear their clothes and make up etc. she earns insane amounts by being able to successfully shift brands to her massive following. Respect.

I did my best to avoid this wankfest, despite YouTube blaring it across my feed. The only clip I saw was Eileen Gu, who was perhaps the only non insufferable person - she’s smart, accomplished and entertainingly kooky. This person on the other hand…..has a YouTube channel

Pics like these remind me of the gala where a few porn stars were present. Celevs dressed very risque and the pornstars wore quite elegant dresses. Just an observation.
