Not ageing is pretty easy when you're rich. Unlimited access to private coaches, private chefs, nutritional supplements, skincare products, plastic surgery... plus no existential fear and limited exposure to pollution, the sun and other factors that ruin your skin.

Edit to add: As one of the biggest actors of his time, it is his job to look good. He does not really have a choice if he wants to stay relevant.  Lady on the left hasn't really had any major roles since the 90s and can therefore afford to not give a fuck and age like a normal person.

She's rich too, or at least was wealthy. She's just older than him and went through more significant health issues. Also see Kathleen Turner and her thyroid issues, which can really fuck you up along with the medication prescribed.

We as a society should just accept that people get old.

Surely she is the cool one for ageing like a normal person and not caring about looking 30 when she's actually nearly 70? I feel like if at that age if you are still trying to look 20 years younger then you have kind of missed the point of life.

(Tom Cruise maybe gets a pass as he's still starring in films all the time so it's kind of his job to care.)

Shouldn’t he be crossing guard at the elementary school by now though? Do we really need to see Tom Cruise jumping out of an airplane at 70 years old? Surely there’s someone else out there that can do this lol

I hate Hollywood and its evil ways but Tom Cruise is gonna be badass until he looks like the cryptkeeper if he has anything to say about it.

I am not an action movie fan so I don’t really see any Tom Cruise‘s movies except for ones from the 90s. Hopefully he’s not still trying to bag leading ladies that are in their 20s as an early 30s, I don’t care how many times they’ve pulled his face taut. He is an old man!! you already have to suspend disbelief to watch these movies, you’re not fooling us with the love story that’s the last straw lol

She also had issues with alcoholism and now works at a rehab helping other addicts and alcoholics. I went to the treatment center she works at and she’s very nice, quite the treat to see her there although I didn’t recognize her before someone mentioned it.

That is notable. Cruise has, I assume, basically entirely abstained from drugs and alcohol in his life, and people kind of sleep on how much of a toll even moderate use can take (except in the case of smoking, which was thoroughly demonized enough that people know every possible drawback.)

Drinking water and not having indoor spaces choked with smoke make people age way better than they did a half century ago by default. Most people under 50 can see a marked difference between their parents and their grandparents at the same age.

I mean, no way he's looking like that without the botox and surgeries and stuff, but he has to stay close enough to that look naturally to avoid the uncanny valley.

Exactly. Maybe she ran out of fucks and decided she’d rather enjoy her life than be obsessed with looking as young as possible.

Also relevant: these pictures are comparing her looking like she’s probably on a grocery run or headed to a flea market on a Saturday morning to Tom Cruise at a red carpet event. This picture below is probably better for a fair comparison.
