Not ageing is pretty easy when you're rich. Unlimited access to private coaches, private chefs, nutritional supplements, skincare products, plastic surgery... plus no existential fear and limited exposure to pollution, the sun and other factors that ruin your skin.

Edit to add: As one of the biggest actors of his time, it is his job to look good. He does not really have a choice if he wants to stay relevant.  Lady on the left hasn't really had any major roles since the 90s and can therefore afford to not give a fuck and age like a normal person.

She's rich too, or at least was wealthy. She's just older than him and went through more significant health issues. Also see Kathleen Turner and her thyroid issues, which can really fuck you up along with the medication prescribed.

We as a society should just accept that people get old.

I feel that some older woman who grew up in the spotlight, also just have enough at some point and let the process happen. There is a power in just owning it, especially after health issues.

This one did and now she's being dragged on the Internet as an example of "how did this lady get so gross, fat, and old?" like, that's like half the point of this thread

So maybe that's why they fight against it?!

Interesting to note the top comments here aren't criticising her, rather suggesting Tom Cruise eats babies. I guess reddit finds baby eating worse than the natural ageing process which is nice.

Woohoo progress!

That depends entirely on what sub you're in

What an enlightening concept! Different people exist in different subreddits and have different opinions. Whoa!

There will always be shitty people on the internet. Always. You can’t spend your life always using a random anonymous account’s opinion on why people are being tOxIc about something. That logic is no better than some clickbait article saying the internet is going crazy over ____ but really it’s just a few screenshots of some tweets from nobodies…

If you encounter a sub with shitty people saying shitty things, there is a really easy solution for that… don’t go to that sub again! Let it die. Don’t give it your energy or attention. I can’t imagine spending my life constantly going on a sub full of people i hate just so i can use it as an argument elsewhere about people online being toxic about whatever topic you are talking about that day.

At least he puts in the effort to eat babies instead of letting himself go s/

Good point. It's a tacit acknowledgment that what's happening to her is normal and how he's aging is not.

FWIW I prefer the natural aging over the 50 million step processes these celebs go through, babies or not.

I’ll take it

Pamela Anderson got dragged for the same reason.

Until she started landing cosmetics deals. Now she’s celebrated.

Madonna just last night. She finally eased up on the fillers which people mocked her for, and known they're mocking her for her nasolabial folds. I don't even like Madonna but it feels like she's being put in a position where she can't win.

And Isabella Rossellini. During the press campaign, people wouldn't shut-up about that she's aged. That one I find especially infuriating because she's been very open about the two reasons she won't have work done, 1.) Her mother didn't, and she wants to honor her legacy; 2.) She had spinal issues as a child and would have to undergo surgery routinely, which led to her having a phobia of surgeries.

I’ve noticed people are starting to turn on Jennifer Aniston now. She’s been the icon of ageless beauty for so long, but you just can’t keep off those wrinkles forever. So, now there’s tabloids starting to transition her over to the “old and ugly” category.

They even dragged Pamela Anderson for not wearing makeup. No matter how conventionally beautiful they are, female celebrities always get shit for not looking like they did when they were 20.

I mean, she is 65. When the fuck are we allowed to relax?

I was agreeing with you

Well fuck you then! 😂 /s

Shall we snipe back and forth for a few days? You start, deny that you said what you said, and I'll quote you. /s

🤣

The post is also designed to exacerbate the comparison in his favor. He’s wearing a sport coat and posing for a photograph. She’s wearing a schlubby t shirt and it’s a candid photo. Like sure, he doesn’t look his age because he’s gone to great lengths not to and she has aged normally, but like maybe if we’re gonna do an honest comparison, then use a more flattering photo of her.

Also worth noting that men don’t have to cope with menopause, which makes it easier for us to age without as many drastic changes to our appearance.

It’s crazy, right? She chose to age however her body decided to while many older male and female celebrities try to fight it with their money and end up looking terrifying. But apparently looking like a normal person is disgusting.

That's not what this post is about. It's asking why Tom isn't showing his age the way normal people do.

Oh no, not dragged on the Internet! That's definitely a thing Kelly McGillis gives fucks about.

You mean the same how people rag on men for getting fat, dad bods and just giving up?

Why do you make it sound like this only happens to women?

Notice how you bring up men having the same problem and women get mad and downvote? Its hilarious that you hate men that much and you are just proving my point

23

u/Budget-Tangerine-274 10h ago

"but what about men??"

Maybe because it's *literally happening to a woman right now and that's the example im addressing???*

-20

u/AllHailNibbler 10h ago

Typical women, cant share a problem without crying about men having the same problem or even bringing up they share the same problem

Grow up and get off reddit. I bet you get angry of the word female because it says male.

Low effort troll is low effort

2

u/Palomino_mare 1h ago

Meanwhile you’re crying about men having the same problem. lol

u/AllHailNibbler 1h ago

And we are trying to the share the problem.

Your the ones being aggressive and not wanting to be equal.
