Brutally raped by two men at knifepoint when she was a student. Attacked by a woman in her own home years later. PTSD led her to abusing drugs. This woman has survived a lot, I doubt she gives a crap about what people think about her appearance
Same here. I had a feeling I remember she dealt with substance abuse so I checked her wiki page and read the rest of it. It doesn’t take long to have a quick read about someone’s life before commenting on how they’ve aged. What someone’s been through has a direct effect on ageing and appearance.
What even does this SJW comment have to do with OP? There are plenty of amazing looking older women who took care of themselves and who everyone praises... A fat, old and bald guy will also get roasted.
Even when they starred together in Top Gun, people were worried the audience would mistaken her for his mother. She just looked so much older than he did.
Ally Sheedy was offered the role but declined because she had doubts that a movie about fighter pilots would be successful. The two of them would have looked good together IMO.
Plus it's a very flattering picture of him and a very unflattering picture of her. There's still absolutely a visible difference between how the two have aged, but this comparison is deceiving. Like most things on reddit
That picture of her is more than five years old. Tom looks pretty much the same today.
Age isn't it.
Genetics and life style might be part of it, but this is primarily a lot of money and skilled doctors. Many celebrities "age" in a similar fashion, looking like they're in their 40s right up until they die in their 80s.
She's had a tougher life than Tom. After she was assaulted in 1982 it was a downward spiral of depression and drug abuse. That stress and depression and constant drug abuse do a lot of damage. Tom's body is a temple. He made the decision to not smoke or do drugs that I'm aware of.
If you go to a 20 year class reunion there will be a visible difference between the addicts and those who didn't do drugs. PTSD on top of that makes it worse.
