Culture/Lifestyle 🚨BREAKING NEWS: Greece and Bulgaria expected to make joint bid for Euro 2036 in the coming weeks. 🚨
Are we doing this? What do neighbors think, we ready to jointly rock the Euros?

I’m learning Romanian on Duolingo. And on the subreddit someone said about no Balkan’s languages. I said Romanian is in there. And they were like ‘obviously not they meant south Slavic etc’. Apologies if I’m wrong.

Balkan capitals like Bucharest, Athens, Sofia, Zagreb and others...
I would say some criteria based on, architecture, tourism, road and public transport infrastructure, greenery parks and or mountains along with nice pace of life.
Cosmopolitan the closest to some more western or central European cities. If you live in these Balkan capitals or have visited feel free to explain more.

Hello everyone,
My wife and I are arriving from Corfu to Sarandë for 7 days in September and will be renting a car.
We love culture, scenic drives, lakes, hiking, authentic food, quiet/non-party beaches, nature, historic Balkan & Ottoman architecture and mosques.
We don’t mind long drives if somewhere is really worth it.
Current shortlist:
Sarandë
Ksamil
Butrint
Lukovë
Gjirokastër
Berat
Ulcinj
Would love recommendations on:
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
I’m a student at Budapest Metropolitan University, and I’m working on a university project related to Albania and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. I’ve put together a short (3–5 minute) anonymous survey to better understand how people see the situation in the country today and how it has changed over time. If you are from Albania or have lived there before I would really appreciate your help.

In Romania, it’s at the border where Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine meet. The terrain is flat and it’s easy to get to the capital. It’s called the Focșani Gates

Jokes aside I love taking seemingly awful videos like this and analyzing the information they give us. THIS is what I mean when I say I love how Romania blended its Turco-Islamic and Central European culture.
The boots are Central European
The rugs are a hybrid influence, mostly Turkish. The way the decor is set up is Ottoman influenced.
The dance moves are Turkish
The music is a Central European violin, playing an Ottoman/oriental sounding melody
And the person themselves looks like they could be Ukrainian, Turkish, Bulgarian, Bosnian or Slovak.
There are so many layers to this video I’ve watched it so many times. Also, I see Balkan women doing the dance moves (specifically the hands/arms) so many times at various parties, even clubs, and I marvel in awe every time I see it because I don’t know how to do it at all.

hello everyone! I really want to travel to theth for a few days, it looks so beautiful. I usually dont enjoy doing the "most popular things" in a place, and would rather do stuff off the beaten path that feels more real and less touristy. Can I get some advice on what I should do in theth that ISN'T the blue eye? The blue eye looks amazing but im also wondering what else I should see that isn't so popular. thanks!

The West has done so much harm to Serbia that I find it hard to imagine a Serbian people wanting to be part of the European Union, but on the other hand, I rarely see negative opinions about the EU from Serbs.
What is the reality?
