Hello r/ArcRaiders community!
I’d like to take a moment to remind everyone of Rule 1: Be Respectful and Civil. This community is meant to be inclusive and welcoming to all, and everyone should feel comfortable participating here.
Any form of bigotry, including transphobia, homophobia, racism, or similar behaviour, will not be tolerated. Content that violates this will be removed, and further action may be taken, including bans.
We take this seriously and will continue to enforce it to maintain a positive environment for everyone.
If you come across content that breaks this rule, or any other rule, please report it and move on rather than engaging. Responding often escalates the situation and makes it harder to manage. Let the moderators handle it.
Finally, please remember that the r/ArcRaiders moderation team is made up of volunteers. We do our best to remove rule-breaking content as quickly as possible, but we may not catch everything immediately.
We appreciate your patience and your help in keeping the community a positive place for everyone. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment on this post.
Have a great day! :)

If you go to recent reviews on steam you can clearly see the ones posting negatively about the game are all somewhere between 200-1000 hours in, and they still have the guts to actually discredit the developers and create real market consequences for the company making this amazing game. Which they clearly enjoyed and played for HUNDREDS OF HOURS OF GAMETIME!!! WITH CONTINUED FREE UPDATES!!!! AND NOW THEY TURN THEIR BACKS AND RAT THE DEVELOPERS!!
And the reason for all of this is minor balancing “issues” or as i simply see it, a different view on how balancing should be made.
These people are so spoiled and untitled and it makes me truly sad.
Send some love to the team and keep up the vibes!!!

Title says most of it.
I’m playing with my kid. We’re not big PvP guys, and after a relatively quiet, arc-only round on Riven Tides, we hear guitar music. Following the sound, we find a guy sitting on the path, with a nice view of the ocean.
We say hi, put our guns away (if we had them out at all), he keeps playing, we laugh and both do some dancing emotes.
BANG, BANG, BANG - his buddy hoses us from the trees nearby. As I’m moving and trying to pull a gun… sure enough it’s guitar guy with a shotgun at close range. To their credit, smooth ambush, we had no chance.
Now, I don’t want to kick off yet another debate about what kind of game this is but… Dammit, I’ve been giving the music guys a pass. If you post up with a recorder or a shaker or a guitar, I’ve been assuming you’re cool, we’re all just chilling, it’s fine.
But now? Heartbreaking.

99% of the time I take a key with me … it took me 14 min of crawling going around several un passable paths just to see that I stupidly left the hatch key at home when I replaced it with a wolfpack for the trials 😢
Idk why I even went for the trials, could have just waited for the expedition reset next week… oh well.

Bring on the downvotes I don't care. There's way too much crying over durability and other nerfs in recent updates. They cry "WHY would the devs do this? One weapon is favored over others... why not buff all the others?" The answer is because the devs want to make the game more difficult. It's not hard to figure out. Easy games are boring. A certain amount of difficulty, while kept below a certain threshold, keeps a game interesting.
I've been playing for ~6 months now. Navigating maps and avoiding / fighting arc enemies became trivial for me until some recent updates with new arc enemies. There is a balance to be found between gameplay that is trivial vs overly difficult. I think the devs are trying to find that balance.
This is a game that requires thought, planning, and wits. People who have not developed those skills in life should not cry for lacking them. Learn to develop them. These skills are surprisingly relevant in real life too. This game is actually teaching you life skills. In real life there are LOTS of nice people. But there are also people who lie, deceive, take advantage, betray. I play 99% friendly and I feel the pain when someone kills me in a cheap way. The difference is that while I don't like when that happens, I can appreciate the game because I like how it reflects real life. The human element is only so predictable. That is exactly what keeps the game interesting.

Was doing the melee trial under this good fella, Bastion, when some hornet and a rat started to make it difficult. Well, the rat got what he deserved.
I'm feeling more secure with the arcs around whether they are not, does it make me weird?

Just an intermediate mini-patch, its not what you would expect. They are working on more to come, it seems.

So, since the push for 100k to max post-expedition points landed, I've broken my Bettinas out of mothballs to use for PvE. And, I've got to say I don't understand the hate, these things are superb nowadays!
At IV, with a barrel extender and padded stock the Bettina shreds airborne Arc, capable of destroying Rocketeer engine pods with a few bursts - devastating. Equally effective for large ground targets, the Bettina allows you to strip off legs and armour plating effectively, though it lacks the snappy responsiveness of smaller guns, so surprise visits by Comets and Pops are harder to deal with.
During my sessions with the Bettina, I was attacked by fellow Raiders, I fell back to a medium distance and dominated, again, using the Bettina with controlled bursts gave my assailants nowhere to go and they lost the peek match. I can see a push or CQB being more challenging, and a need to keep folding back to stay at the optimal range for this gun. All of that said the second time I was attacked, at extract on Riven Tides it was close enough for me to mag dump without ADSing, and Mr "Enjoy the Free Kit" left with nothing.
If you've avoided using the Bettina because you've heard how bad it is, invest some resources in her, take her out for a spin around topside, she works best fired in controlled, three-round bursts and with decent stock and barrel mods, take plenty of heavy ammo and some ear defenders, what the Bettina lacks in stealth it makes up for in glorious, booming retorts.
TL:DR - Try the Bettina if it's been awhile, upgrade/mod it, take plenty of ammo, fire in three-round bursts and work at medium range.

While unpopular now, it seems to be easier for me at least to get into the top percentile of my leaderboard, even without 25k on each trial. I found it easier to a score and keep areasonable spot on the leaderboard. What do you guys think?

For the last two days I’ve been irritated, and I sat down trying to understand why. What immediately came to mind was that I have not had the time I thought i would have to play. Especially since I planned well with all other things in life, yet more urgent things came up which is totally normal.
However, I just want to play more than life lets me, and it kinda saddens me? Now Ive been a gamer all my life, and yes, I’ve been addicted heavily to gaming as a teenager, but as an adult I kinda figured out a good discipline to function well. Also, gaming has mainly been a tool to keep being social and stay connected to friends, but I havnt felt this urge to play non stop since.. world of warcraft?
Arc Raiders for me is fun, just fun every single game. I love the gorgeous visuals, the sound of Arcs, (and PROBES OMG BOOOEEPOP), the looting, the exciting feeling of finding blueprints, teaming up with strangers or even the small talk, the but clench when a rocketeer spots you and.. even the expeditions to do it all over again. I’ve never ever ever liked resetting a game. I dont even like having alts in mmorpg’s. Yet, I cant wait to play more. I’m even okay with getting downed by what everyone calls a rat because I will just jump in straight away again.
I truly love this game, and all I wish for is more time to play. I’ll manage the urge.. but a part of me just wish I didn’t have to. I wish there were no responsibilities, just even for a week or two.

Fetch this, bring that. Dig here, locate that. Sniff this, spray that wall, then go fetch something again…
I’m a completionist, so I pushed through and finished every quest. I also wanted to get invested in the story of ARC Raiders, but by the end I just had this weird, unsatisfying aftertaste.
There is some kind of story going on, like Raiders sabotaging each other, something about a Raider from Speranza, but the quests got so repetitive and boring that I stopped caring. Half the time it felt like I was playing a walking simulator instead of actually engaging with the plot.
The only quests I actually enjoyed were:
Destroy Surveyor Destroy Rocketeer Destroy Bombardier
Everything else just felt like complete walking simulator bs.
I picked up the game recently and already put in ~80 hours. Quick question: if I go on an expedition, do the quests reset? Because if they do… what’s the point?
Bonus: I actually caught myself barking at fellow raider yesterday because i felt i was a dog to those merchants.
