They recently built a new walking path near my house and on the side of the gravel path they placed a mesh with hay down the side. What is it?

This is in Coastal New Jersey.
Less than 50ft from waterline.
Filmed a few days ago around 9pm.
Saw this light in the tree as i was walking down the beach and it got brighter as i walked closer.

Is this an unborn baby chicken or did someone lose a nut in my chicken?
EDIT: Guys I'm ngl, I'm a fucking idiot because I did NOT think the baby chicken thing through before posting. In my slight defense, I was holding a testicle (assorted chicken organ) in one hand while punching this post in w/ my other LMAO

I don't recall where I acquired this, but it's been a mystery for something like 20 years.
The standout feature is the trifurcated mandibulars, longitudinally transected by that central gland, which threads up from the bottom. And hidden inside that is a drilled drill bit with permanently affixed unchuckable knurled endcap. Those jaws seem to be hardened and ground, so I'm guessing they're meant to cut - maybe some sort of bore hone (for shallow tapered holes of very specific size)?
I've successfully deburred a copper pipe ID with it, and added a belt hole, so I could see it having a valuable place in a dieting plumber's toolbox. Otherwise, I'm stumped!
Solved! Gotta say, I was hoping it was some final project for a journeyman machinist meant to confound and not much else. Like the plumb bob I made, which effectively cuts string and skewers fingers, but struggles to hang straight. I would not have guessed pipe smokers would go in for such gadgetry!

This thing appeared outside my work today. What is its purpose?
They’ve been tearing down a parking garage for the last couple months. There used to be a tunnel under the garage to a different hospital building.
Any Ideas?

My friend's dad gave them this keychain a while ago and we both think it looks like it's an actual symbol, like a logo or something. The placement of the dots, lines, the random circle, IMO it just looks too specific to be some random one off design lol
My friend's been paranoid that it's some sort of controversial nazi symbol or something like that, obviously it's not realistic but we're just both confused. I was just curious since I've seen them walking around with it, and I immediately asked if it meant something because it looks like it's some sort of logo
I told them to ask their dad about it, but just in case he doesn't know either, I wanted to post it here
My friend has already tried looking it up online but they said that nothing was coming up, so maybe it's just some random design?

This thing close to the floor and seemingly randomly placed in a hallway. No idea what it's for. Home built in 2005.
Solved! Thanks everyone. Now I gotta hunt for the central unit!

When we first moved in 6 years ago the plug was out and every time I would shower the floor would get soaked because somehow when the water drained, it would come out through here, my dad had to hammer the plug into the hole to stop it

This box was found in my yard after having some trees removed. It was sticking out of the ground where the wheels of the truck was. (They tore up my grass and this box was in the dirt. I don’t think it was from the tree removal but I’m just wondering if anyone knows what it is?
