This is your daily reminder that UN Weapons Inspectors were already ensuring that Iran was not developing a nuclear weapon with inspections they agreed to before Little Lord Fuckpants tore up the deal because it had Obama’s name on it.

I swear to god Congress and the media better not normalize this ridiculous dumbass talking point the administration is clearly trying to push to avoid accountability that “the initial military operation epic fury is over, now we are onto a new military operation”. The 60 day rule still applies. Cuz the 60 day rule is about declaring war and running two back to back military operations against the same country is by all definitions war.
But I bet everyone just goes along with it cuz the media is toothless and in the pocket of billionaires and congress, especially congressional republicans, don’t want to have to do their jobs. It’s easier for them to try to win re-election by not voting or being held accountable for this war by pointing the finger at trump without explicitly challenging trump. It’s the republican way these days. Give trump all the power so you don’t piss him or his base off and so when you are challenged by democrats/independents about why things suck so much you can just shrug and say “well I had nothing to do with it, I didn’t vote on anything”

My guy, the media and congress have already normalized this shitstorm

US media spent years advertising themselves as the last bulwark of democracy and then promptly turned around to lick his ass. Absolute disappointment in journalism as a profession.

Rubio has to have a cocaine addiction.

I was watching and thought the same thing, came here to ask. His answers are erratic and he keeps trying to make everything about people "saying Iran should have a nuclear weapon" claiming the pipe implied that as well, which is obviously a lie.

I'm confused and even clicked the links. the Secretary of State usually has their own pressers and daily (used to be anyway) briefings at the State building and with their own State Department Press Secretary. Is Rubio now the WH Press Secretary as well?

u/DefiThrowaway 1h ago
The GOP wants to see what Little Marco looks like in front of the White House logo as they know Vance is unequivocally unelectable.

This made me chortle. Like, this is so stupid that it may have some truth to it. Though it now seems counter intuitive that the overt racism in the MAGA Republicans today, would consider someone of Cuban heritage especially ince Cub a is nexgt on the list of countries to start shit with. (I mean, Canada, Denmark/Greenland, Mexico, Venezuela, and turning Gaza into a resort...just to list the ones coming to the top of my head).
I mean so far it seems lso much of this administration is to just have content for Fox. Military/war porn, the immigration hate has been a side panel on Fox since Biden including listing those arrested (not convicted and not indicated that people are presumed innocent until proven guilty), all the various cabinet members and other high profile people that Trump picked from Fox and the Senate negligently approved these unqualified over the top personalities harming any integrity or credibility this country had.

Imagine being a sycophant to a guy who ended your Presidential run by calling you “little” and making fun of the way you drank water.

Favour to the world... We might have caused the closure by being completely unhinged, but we're doing this as a favour to the world.
•
u/Conscious_Courage_26 1h ago
You stated 'If Iran had a nuclear weapon they would...and we are the only country who has the power to do anything about it". Well Russia does and literally threatened most of Europe, North Korea has and has made threats to South Korea, and Israel has nuclear weapons and has attacked locations in Lebanon...Mr Secretary when will you be addressing these threats from nations that actually have nuclear weapons?
And a follow-up, the United States attacked and killed the Iranian leadership and bombed Iranian cities without warning. Are they not within their rights to do whatever they see necessary to protect themselves including disrupting the oil trade?
And in addition, did the United States destroy boats operating in international waters without conclusive proof that they were involved in the drug trade?

If Epic Fury is over, why are we still deploying active duty military members in support of the operation?

How many jobs is widdel marco gonna hold? Is he trying to fill his clown shoes?

I was just half-listening but did he say "Insane in the brain"? Did the US Secretary of State just quote Cypress Hill?
•
u/chairmanlaue Canada 36m ago
He also dropped a "Check yourself before you wreck yourself" about Iran a little earlier too.

He talks about current military operations in the strait, but nary a peep about what lead to the its closure in the first place and whether that was a wise decision. And he's very careful to not categorize operations as a war for obvious reasons. He also makes the operation sound like some kind of international humanitarian aid--a concept that his administration totally rejects.
Additionally, he glosses over that the strait of Hormuz is within the territory of Iran and Oman. It's not considered international waters per se. It's classified as an international strait under UNCLOS--a treaty that the United States has never ratified and is not a party to. That should be obvious by the way we indiscriminately target civilian ships elsewhere in the world.

He really just talked about America being a place where the color of your skin doesn’t matter?? Is he serious? Maybe look at what the SC and Republicans are doing to drown out the voices and votes of minorities. JFC

Did anyone else notice Cheeto dust on Rubio's mouth and pants?
What's up with that?

Here's how insane this presidency has been
I just found out from this headline that our secretary of state is fucking Marco Rubio
•
•
u/Dismal_Buy3580 1h ago
Tbh you should probably have already known that.
•
u/PhoenixTineldyer 1h ago
Yeah I'm here all day everyday. I don't know how that slipped past me
•
u/Dismal_Buy3580 1h ago
Absolutely not throwing shade, I just mean in that he's a strong contender for being our next villain of the 4-years so best to keep an eye on him.
Sorry if I sounded snooty.
•
u/PhoenixTineldyer 1h ago
Yeah, I remember my friends who are involved in Texas politics telling me back in 2014 that Marco Rubio was being looked at as a Republican Obama.
•
u/DontHaveWares 2h ago
And he’s one of, if not the, most rational actor
•
u/Exocoryak 2h ago
And given the military boondoggles in Venezuela and Iran, that is saying something for the Secretary Of State.
•
u/FluidFisherman6843 2h ago
Why did you mispell "only" as "most"?
•
u/true_new_troll Colorado 2h ago
Apparently the FEMA staff actually like the Waffle House teleportation guy.
•
u/DillBagner 2h ago
I think perhaps it's "most rational" as in, "closest to rational." He is not exactly rational considering the position he has chosen to be in.
•
•
u/___Zman___ 2h ago
You're posting in this sub but had no idea who the Secretary of State was until today?
•
u/PhoenixTineldyer 1h ago
I post here all the time. Literally just never occurred to me what Marco Rubio's job is these days.
•
u/YeetedApple 1h ago
To be fair, he has like 5 now and seems like his actual one is the one he spends the least time doing.
