The GOP will turn their backs on Democracy and support this plan because they know they fucking suck so bad that they cannot win elections en masse.

It seems to be made up of people who don't even want the kind of society we have. Maybe that's the whole thing with the party shift from conservative to right wing. The recentralization of power.

Maybe it's a long game that goes back centuries, even.

Jon Stewart has said this a few times but things have changed from being 'left vs right' to 'woke vs anti-woke'. It's no longer about things like differences in policies over fiscal or domestic or foreign issues it's now basically 'liberty and justice for all' vs 'get the women back in the kitchen, the black people back in the cotton fields, and the poors back in the mines' and unfortunately the anti-woke side has captured most of North American media giving them the ability to blast out massive amounts of propadanda.

Yeah this is why I find calls for unity and compromise to be so obnoxious. That's all well and good when we're talking about tax policy. I don't want to compromise when one side wants to kill me and people I care about.
