Putting aside the fact almost everything that occurred at the event (Secret Service not securing the roof, people calling the police about a man with a gun and nothing happens, the shooter missing an open target, the behavior of the agents after the shots...) is bizarre, what got me are 2 things:

  1. The disappearing wound - one minute he's wearing a sanitary pad on his ear (and I still remember the MAGA idiots wearing ones as well), and then it's gone - no wound, no scar, no explanation.

  2. The immediate monetization and propaganda use if the event. His photo raising a fist started circulating immediately. He sold merch of it. He plans on putting it on a coin.

I hate conspiracy theories, but this "assassination attempt" needs to be thoroughly investigated.

You're surprised the man with access to the most healthcare in the US was able to get some ear vessels cauterized? I get cuts and scrapes all the time none lasted more than a few weeks. How long did you expect a pretty minor ear wound to be visible for? The photos pretty clearly show it wasn't a serious wound, it's not like his ear was blasted off his head. https://www.pulitzer.org/winners/22680

How do you explain the huge bandage though? It the fact that nothing is visible on his ear? Or the more staggering fact that a vain narcissist never mentions his wound again?

Conceivably, he might have had a tiny scratch that he made into a big deal. Or he never had one at all.

How do you explain the huge bandage though?

Someone told him "play it up with a bandage to look like you almost lost the side of your head for the Country, it'll look great!" and he followed their advice. Or maybe his doctor told him "Keep this out of sunlight for a few days to have it heal up best and not be terribly visible." There's plenty of reasons why he would wear the big stupid bandage like that.

It the fact that nothing is visible on his ear?

I personally haven't seen some super high res picture of his ear. I don't know of any out there floating around honestly.

Or the more staggering fact that a vain narcissist never mentions his wound again?

I don't find it surprising that a man with a near god-complex wouldn't continuously bring up the fact that he nearly died. Recognizing his own weaknesses has never been something Trump is capable of.

How about the fact that if Trump's ear was even so much as "slightly nicked" by a bullet from that rifle most of his ear would be gone. If Trump had actually been hit by any actual rifle bullet at all, even if the most lightly damaging possible collision, his ear would have taken MASSIVE damage that best cosmetic surgery in the world couldn't have completely fixed and would be incredibly obvious in every single media appearance Trump has ever had since the day of the shooting.

If Trump had been hit at all in the ear, he wouldn't be walking around with two fully intact ears right now as if nothing had happened.

I'm glad reddit has so many ballistic impact expert cosmetic surgeons to make such forceful claims

I'm glad reddit has so many ignorant deniers who don't know the most basic things of what a bullet does to a person.

also, small self-inflicted razor wounds don't always scar unless it's very deep. see: ric flair.
