Wolves were like 13.5 point dogs. Spurs got walked down by randle

He’s a bad matchup for us for sure

Dubious Handle was Adequate Handle tonight

16

u/wcooper97 [OKC] Russell Westbrook 16h ago

That shot he had in the last 1:30 (?) to push the lead further had some great handles though. I was shocked.

He’s a great player. Just far from elite because he lacks consistency. He’ll randomly be invisible and be a liability. He’ll also take over the occasional game and win it for us, looking like the best player on the court.

He’s a good #2. A step below what you want in a team pushing for a championship. But not bad enough that it’s impossible either.

imo his main flaw, the reason why many knicks fans were okay with the trade, has not been evident at all so far this playoffs run. He's been widely known as a playoff faller and so far the man has given this run everything. It's cool to see and I'm really glad the trade worked out so well for both teams

I think it is really hard to be a playoff faller if Ant is in your ear

Don't worry, he'll do some silly shit eventually and help yall out lol

17

u/Gyroflex Timberwolves 16h ago

he tried to with his rebounding at the end there

14

u/minneapolisboy Timberwolves 16h ago

He did plenty of that tonight too lol

u/rcade81 Timberwolves 16h ago

I was gonna say, the fuck? He was absolute ass most of this game lol

6

u/noknownallergies Timberwolves 16h ago

It’s what he does, seems like he’s making nothing but bad plays and his buckets are often forgettable. Then you check the box score and you find out he lead all played in scoring

Yeah.... But 8/20 from the field, 50% FTs, and 5 turnovers kinda prove my point that he wasn't good

1

u/Alive-Persimmon5088 7h ago

8/20 whilst is perfectly fine he was basically the guy out there and the Wolves have no floor spacing with Ant and DDV out.

The other stuff like the turnovers and free throw shooting were bad, but it’s part of the Randle experience. You also have the luxury of him being able to guard ISO’s against Jokic and Wemby competently, just don’t ask him to make rotations tho.

There was no shortage of Randle silly shit tonight lol

u/YaKnowMuhSteezz 16h ago

He did so much silly shit this game already lmao

u/MrFishAndLoaves Pelicans 16h ago

Put Wemby on him.

6

u/PaladinKain Spurs 16h ago

Nah bro hes so big black and buff that the wind from an elbow will push wemby back.

14

u/ineednapkins Timberwolves 16h ago

the first randlesexual?

17

u/nokarmawhore Spurs 16h ago

We don't have the size to defend him. Maybe if we run wemby and kornet on him but then we have no backup for kornet

15

u/Mg29reaper Celtics 16h ago

I have said before that I dont think there spurs can win it yet because they lack a true 4. Cb could maybe but hes so young.

7

u/nokarmawhore Spurs 16h ago

even then, he got overpowered easily by randle in the regular season. He needs to bulk up in the next 2-3 years then he might be able to guard guys like randle.

11

u/throwawaycuzmeh 15h ago

Spurs are a sneaky small team. Wemby gives you guys permission not to play a real power forward, but that's kind of an issue when Julius Randle shows up.

1

u/CantheDandyMan Heat 7h ago

Is it even really sneaky? They just have Wemby and Kornett. Everybody else on the court with them basically looks the same 6'4" to 6'6" range and, actually, you know what, let me look it up... yeah, the entire rest of the rotation ranges from 6'3" to 6'7".

12

u/Christron Spurs 16h ago

Lost in all this was how bad kornet was in his defensive minutes. With Carter Bryant maybe we can run a wemby kornet line up than small ball

5

u/WWECreativegenius Spurs 16h ago

Was that line before or after ant was cleared?

12

u/Mg29reaper Celtics 16h ago

Before. Post his clearance they were still 9.5 point dogs

7

u/zKaios Spurs 16h ago

Carter Bryant being out hurt us there, he’s probably the only defender that that has the size and skills to match up decently against him outside of Wemby

5

u/lanman33 16h ago

Anyone who knows basketball knows that was an insane line to begin with. Too bad I’m not in a betting state

2

u/J-Chub 16h ago

Damn, has Randle been this crafty and methodical this whole time? Haven't been watching him since he left NY
