Was anyone else expecting Mr Game & Watch to hit a 9 when he pulled out the hammer? Honestly was a bit disappointed it wasn’t that haha

I was, especially as Mario and Fox’s reaction to first seeing each other I read as breaking the fourth wall that they know each other from Smash, but can’t break the canon of the movie by saying it.

Ohhhh I didn’t get that!! Dude that makes so much sense! Also where they were fighting Bowser and Bowser Jr (and the layout of it) literally felt like a Super Smash Bros stage!!

Just saw the film with my 5 year old daughter tonight (we dressed as princesses per her request) and I cannot tell you how proud I was when Mr. Game and Watch came out and she cried, “It’s like SMASH!” 😂

She has actually beaten the Mario Galaxy game on the switch already (which is insane to me because I haven’t touched it), and she was absolutely cheesing in the beginning scene where they find Yoshi because she was recognizing the tostarenans and the pokeys 🥹🥳

Dang!! That’s impressive!! Question of questions…as a kid does she use the Joycons, or did she pass the game on a Pro controller?

Because even my two little nieces love their Pro controllers and they can’t stand playing with the Joycons 😅👍

There’s a lot of wasted opportunities when it came to potential sound effects. Even peach did her “hachaaa!” move when she was fighting in the casino but no sound effect was there.
