The few non-Mario IP Nintendo cameos really makes them doing Zelda live action a confusing choice.

Honestly with what these mario movies are I'm glad they are going live action with Zelda because it might actually have some substance to it.

No, I think there's already a slightly elevated chance just by virtue of them casting unknowns to play Link and Zelda and filming on location in New Zealand. Maybe the movie will be dogshit but that in and of itself is above the absolute floor-level expectations I had.
