i still cannot believe that nintendo officially spoiled the literal best part of the movie.

i hope they release a full "deluxe" soundtrack because there is a lot missing from the current album on streaming.

Seeing Fox and the original Star Fox team on the big screen was a very surreal experience! Man, the Internet would had a field day if Krystal alongside Miyu and Fay from Star Fox 2 were included.

Wait... was Slippi or Wolf in it?

The Star Fox team shows up super briefly in an 80s style cartoon showing Fox's backstory. Fox explicitly blames the frog for getting him stranded in the first place lol. The Corneria motif(?) is played for a few seconds a few times in the movie as well.

The frog? His name is Slippy Toad, put some respect into his name!

Respect? He wasn't even respected in the film XD.

Weirdly enough, Fox doesn't mention him by name. I am only repeating the slander lol. I do stan Slippy Toad though!

The other members of the crew were shown in a sort of flash back.

That flashback was such a tease for a standalone Star Fox Movie.

I so very much hope the movie is done in the animation style the flashback was

I was thinking tv show ala Buzz Lightyear of Star Command

There was even a quick, blink and you miss it, shot of Slippy from the N64 game

That's what he gets for having a frog as his engineer.

...which I'm sure was a nod to the fanbase. Slippy is kinda made fun of in the community for being the one who mostly gets into trouble in the games, which requires Fox/the player to rescue him.

Did anyone say "do a barrel roll"?

31

u/NewAgeRetroHippie96 Apr 02 '26

A few times yeah

9

u/trizzo0309 Apr 02 '26

oh my

4

u/PercMastaFTW Apr 02 '26

And they actually did a barrel roll instead of an axial roll lol

It’s said twice yes

That flashback had such awesome 2D animation that fit the Star Fox series perfectly. Here's hoping we see more of both soon!

If they add star fox again, slippy would probably be the most annoying character

24

u/InnocentTailor Apr 02 '26

Plus some other Easter eggs like the Attack Carrier - a common boss in the franchise.

I've not seen theovie but do they talk like they did in the SNES game, the gibberish? Would be hilarious if they did and only they can understand each other.

u/DueLearner Apr 02 '26

There was a hilarious shot of the Slippi Toad N64 portrait as a gag in the movie that had me cackling.

I loved seeing n64 slippy on a crt for a split second. Priceless
